Took the boy for some Chinese food today for lunch and he wanted a buffet. I had not eaten here before and was a little worries based upon past reviews to be honest. Pretty average to good in my opinion and I wanted to try to help the place keep the 3.5 rating which is exactly what I would have given if able. Food was hot and cold as needed and the hot dishes were not over done so the line could be refreshed to keep things hot and ready. We came late for lunch(1pm) but were eagerly greeted, seated, had drink orders and explained the buffet. Not pushed out either which is a plus for a buffet establishment. Would definitely take the boy(or rest) if Chinese buffet is requested. Do suggest lunch over dinner just because it seemed right price for lunch but same for dinner with up charge would have not made me as happy. Very friendly staff too!

Friendly servers, and food is good for a good price. What made me write a review is: While sitting and eating my wife pointed out the manager walking around, it was I imagine about the average amount of customers for the time of day, not over crowded not empty. We watched the manager walk to some of the tables that just emptied and he wiped his hand across the tables and seats and looked at his hand then proceeded to wipe a missed spot then did the same to the blinds. Very clean restaurant inside, though the outside doesn’t show it. In this day of lack of caring in the service industry it was very comforting to see the eye and care for details. The food is good for a buffet and a fair price but it is now our go to place, Good Bye New China Buffet you have now lost our business, Hello Sakura. As for the other negative post I think they are under new management, I never went under the old management and I am glad, since I only usually only give 2 chances then I never go again.

Staff was very nice, and the restaurant was reasonable clean. And that’s about all that was good about this place. First, the really bad stuff … the sushi. Frankly, I can eat just about anything, but their sushi was awful and I could not literally eat it. The salmon was slimy, the«? fish was stiff and in all cases the rice was just old … If I didn’t know better, I’d swear this was leftover from lunch and I was there at 6:30PM. In the 35 minutes I was there, they never brought out crab legs … until several customers started to get pretty vocal about it. Other than these issues, the rest of the food was just okay, nothing special or memorable. The variety of food was slim considering the $ 13 price tag. I’ve been to other Chinese buffets with twice as much better prepared food for this same price. Sorry to say, but I can not recommend Sakura.

So I have to say that the staff there was really friendly, and if I could give a star rating on just the customer service I would give it 4 stars; however, customer service can only do so much, especially when the food that is being served is of bad quality . When my boyfriend and I walked in there, we saw a few red flags: first was the sea food. The crab had this black film on it, and we didn’t even touch the sushi. Most of the other food such as the orange chicken, pepper chicken, pork, and the rice were all cold, yet some of the dishes the pork didn’t seem to taste right. When we went to try the desserts there was mold on the cheese cake and most of the other desserts were just down right horrible. It’s really sad that this place isn’t up to great quality, for where they’re located it could have great potential, but until they get there act together i will not be going back.

After I heard that they have new management, I decided to give them a try. I was very impressed by the service I received from the waiter and good food they offer. At the time of this writing, they offer snow crabs on Wed nights and weekends. Snow crab was good. Some may find that it maybe a little salty. For me, I like salty food, so that didn’t bother me. Nice transformation. I’ll be back for more.

I started going there since their grant opening. I was trying to find a buffet near my house where they serve oysters, so I found it. BUT they serve oysters and crab only on Saturday and Sunday. That’s a disappointment. I also like their fried rice, sushi and see trough soup(I forgot what it’s called). Their staff is nice. I don’t like that you can’t get your own ice cream, you have to ask staff to get you some. Once I walked in at 10:30am and everything was still clear. Their food was not ready. Guy said I have to wait 20 mins. I sadly walked away. So basically when they open, the food is not ready and that’s what I don’t get. Why open if not ready. If I could rate 1 and half a star, I would… Sometimes they don’t make enough sushi, little variety. So now their business picked up to speed, they decided to not have punch cards. I think it’s buy 8 and get one free. Also since I like oysters, last two times they were not fresh and they tasted gross. I knew it was not a good sign. Their price is $ 14. some cents with drink.

My husband and I went in on a Saturday during lunch time and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Once seated we quickly got up to check out what they had. There was a really good selection of food; seafood, dim sum, soup/phở, sushi, noodles, assorted meat dishes, veggies, a few american style foods and dessert with ice cream that they don’t let people scoop themselves which I definitely appreciate. Last thing I want are kids sticking their fingers in the ice cream like I’ve seen at other places. Anyway, this is a pretty nice place with awesome friendly staff, good prices, pretty good food, and a great selection. We will be frequenting this place. :)

This place used to be King’s Wok Buffet. Now re-named Sakura Buffet. I was skeptical that it had just changed ownership and stayed excatly the same, and rightfully so, as little has changed. When kings wok first opened,.they had a great selection, good flavors, and freshly cooked food. A few weeks after that grand opening however,. it went down hill. Way down hill. All the dishes before that had tasted fresh, and flavorful,… were now dull, mushy and bland. Enter the grand opening of Sakura Buffet. The sign and advertising alert you that it is also a Tapenyaki resturaunt as well. This is untrue. If you would like to see how Tapenyaki is done,. visit Iron Chef right down the street. They are a little pricey, 17 bucks a plate,. but well worth the meal and entertainment. Top notch food, top notch chef’s. Tapenyaki is a style where the chef generally cooks either right at your table or dining area, or very near to it. The chefs are highly skilled, do neat little tricks like juggling veggies, and rolling eggs down knife,. and the most important part of all, making giant balls of fire on the grill :) Benny Hana’s, Iron Chef, and several others who claim to be Tapenyaki resturaunts do just that, and they do an incredible job at it. Back to Sakura Buffet,. they have renovated to add a mongolian grill style, round grill. They have a very limited selection of items that you can choose from, and then sit there and watch them cook it on the grill, in perhaps the most boring encounter you may have that day, unless you have also had the pleasure of watching grass grow earlier that morning. NOT Tapenyaki. If they put«Mongolian Grill» on the signs and mailed out advertising, I might buy it. But trying to sell a mongolian grill style cook, as a Tapenyaki chef is simply rediculous, and an insult to the inteligents of everyone who walked in the door expecting to see what it was they advertised. In a word, Lame! Back to the food. Now that they have changed the name, and moved some furniture,. maybe even management, you might expect an improvement in food quality. That is where you would be mistaken. In summary, food is blan and mushy like it’s been under lights all day, everything kind of tastes the same. Service is decent, but they do not have any Tapenyaki Chef’s, or Tapenyaki style seating arrangements available. If you want to stand around and watch a mongolian grill cook,. save a few bucks and head out to any of the five or so mongolian grills that surround this buffet. You will get better, fresher, more flavorful food,. and best of all, none of those businesses will lie to you and say they have Tapenyaki chef’s, when they are in fact mongolian grill cooks.

Sayonara, Kings Wok. Hello, Sakura. KW was very little hit and a whole lot of miss. The variety of dishes here are hard to beat but the quality is a little spotty. Lots of sushi choices but the dessert bar was lacking. A full service menu in addition to the buffet expands your options. The snow crab coulda used a bit more flavoring in the cooking process and the clams were gritty. Fried shrimp was missing. Highlights are the coconut shrimp and fried squid(calamari). Charging extra for soda is unnecessary but they have no problem getting you refills.

Just came from the dinner buffet and it was awesome $ 11.99 a person with Lobster, Crab legs, large oysters, clams, free hot tea, plus grill and Phở Station. Friendly service, clean bathrooms and nice flavors without too much salt or grease. Plus they had my favorite«Duck» it was extremely busy today but the waiter kept our table clean and our drinks coming, I do believe that they will soon have beer and wine and when that happens, Woohoo!

Previously known as King’s Wok Buffet, now Sakura Buffet. The first red flag was the hand printed sign next to the register which proudly announced that«the crab legs, oysters and clams were bigger on the weekends.» First off, I have to complement the staff for being attentive, friendly, personable, and trying very hard to make sure you have a pleasant dining experience. From a service standpoint, this place is 5 stars. From a food viewpoint, 1 star is more than generous. Why the low rating? Beyond the poor cooking, beyond the questionable quality of ingredients, one thing screams out… CHEESE Don’t get me wrong, I love cheese. I just don’t get the concept of shoveling artificial fake cheese on stuff to sell it. In all my years of eating Asian food, the one constant has been a lack of cheese on anything. At least of 1⁄3 of all food was toped with a disgusting layer of fake cheese. When presented with fillets of salmon swimming in artificial cheese with pools of grease on top, something labeled as oysters which are puddles of white stuff on oyster shells, and baked crab on clam shells heaped into unrecognizable puddles of stuff, I have to throw the flag. As an extender or filler, using fake cheese might work, but not here. The best selections were the green beans and cabbage. One thing to avoid like the plague is the«teriyaki chicken». No Soy, Ginger, or any other flavor is discernible, just sugary blandness. For the«sushi» selections, you would be better off going to Safeway and buying the prepackaged California rolls. While they look appetizing, the flavor simply sucks. No addition of soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger can correct the poor assemblage of «stuff»
