we went to heather when she was first starting out and had the same problems. no call backs and promises not met. she takes a nice pic but thats all

I had Heather do my wedding last year. Normally I never write reviews but my experience stood out so much that I felt I had to.
Pros:
–Heather is very friendly. Meeting with her was a pleasant experience.
–The price is a bit lower than other photographers.
–I won a free canvas from a drawing on her blog!
Cons:
–After signing the contract, Heather was very hard to get a hold of. I would email and not hear back for a week, so I would email again and it would take another week or so to get an answer. I am organized and like to confirm details so this was stressful on me, especially during wedding planning. But the details worked out fine and she was flexible with the times.
–During our first meeting I had asked her if she could edit her pictures a certain way (a more «vintage» or «aged» look). She said that was no problem. However, when I got the pictures, they were not edited like that. I emailed her and mentioned that this was disappointing. She said she simply forgot and that she would edit some select photos and send them to me. It’s been 1 ½ years later and I never received those pictures. I have given up hope and tried my best to edit on my Mac and I’m satisfied with them, but sad that I didn’t get what we agreed on.
–The photo shoot we had before the wedding was taken outside — those pictures turned out fine. The actual ceremony was held inside and at night so the lighting was dim. I totally understand that these are harder photos to take, but usually editing can make them look decent. I received my photos and it looked like no editing had taken place at all. It looked awful with the flash. My sister, with her intermediate camera took better pictures and I am thankful she took a lot! I’m assuming that Heather did no work on the ceremony pictures at all, but I can’t judge for sure. I at least would have made some black&white to look nicer.
Overall…Heather is nice and is talented, but not so reliable. Good with outdoor, natural lighting but not for indoors. I don’t think my pictures are terrible, but they aren’t what I was hoping for.

Heather did our engagement and wedding photos and I absolutely love them. My husband hates having his picture taken and Heather did a great job making him feel comfortable and enjoy the experience. I have gotten so many compliments on the photos and many people have said they are some of the best wedding pictures they have ever seen. My only complaint is that it took a lot longer than expected to get our final product back from Heather which was quite frustrating. Despite that, I would not hesitate from using Heather for any of our photo needs in the future.
