I had such a great experience with Allie today. I had some shape put into my grown out inverted bob and we added bangs. She gave me a complimentary scalp treatment when I showed an interest in what services they offered for scalp treatments. She even gave me a small sample to try at home. I love my hair cut and her easy manner and friendliness were a bonus to the experience.

I was having surgery and desperately needed a hair cut. My normal hair stylus at a different salon had no openings.
I called G.J. Puyallup and they were able to see me within the hour.
I saw Valerie who I really liked. She gave me tips for different styling tips. She also did a great job on my hair, which is thin and fine. I love it.
The receptionist was very sweet and all and all it was a nice experience. Beautiful salon

I have never had such and amazing facial in my life. and she killed it on my brows they have never looked better! She will not disappoint!

I went in for my first balayage and had an appointment with Melanie. She did an incredible job, my hair looks AMAZING. If you are needing a balayage please make an appointment with her. She was also extremely sweet, and I had such a good time being paired with her because she is just such a nice and genuine person. I will be booking with her for all my future color services. I cannot believe the magic she worked!

From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed!
Once you «check in» you are taken back into a private room to put on a robe over your top. On your way out to the beautiful waiting area you are greeted with a beverage! This spa has amazing customer service! Everyone is beautiful, has a big smile & is super friendly! Danielle did an amazing job on my hair! This was my first time here & I already can’t wait to go back!

Thor is amazing! My hair is very thick, but Thor knew exactly how to cut it to make it lay perfectly. I now have a very layered look with grown out bangs! Thanks Thor

I made an appointment two days in advance for a haircut. Thirty minutes before my appointment A voicemail was left and asked if I would be able to come in right away because she was already booked and didn’t even notice. So I call back and explain to the girl on the phone what happened and she kept telling me I couldn’t come in that day. She was extremely rude and impatient so I just hung up. I got a call the same day asking why I missed my appointment so I told them what happened and hung up again. They then called back later that night and asked if I wanted 25% off on my next appointment. So I rescheduled and the same thing happened again, will not be returning here.

I have NEVER left a salon so satisfied and excited about my hair! If you are looking for someone who listens and understands hair make an appointment with THOR!!!

I’m new to Puyallup and thanks to other Unilocalers I decided to give this salon a try for a haircut and I was not disappointed. Allie. was my stylist and she did an amazing job. I absolutely love my hair and it feels healthier than ever.
FYI, when you arrive they check you in and have you change into a robe so that you don’t mess up your clothes. The you sit in the waiting area until your stylist comes to get you. Once Allie came to take back, we sat in her chair and she asked me what I wanted to do with my hair. Once we both were in agreeance she began.
Something to note about all of the Gene Juarez salons that’s unique is that they have stylists for cutting and different stylists for coloring. This is just the way that they complete their extensive training to become masters in a certain area.

My experience was so relaxing !!! I got a facial with a collagen caviar add on, cece who did my facial was super laid back and amazing with my skin!!! (Some places just scrub away with no regards to your comfort) but she was very persistent with making sure I was comfortable. I will defiantly be going back !!! Along with being a new client I got a free gift at the end of my service :)

This salon and spa is amazing! I have been seeing many of the stylist here for years and you really can’t go wrong. This shout out today goes to Elle for doing a great job on my color! You wear your hair every day so it’s important that it’s done right! Elle has definitely exceeded my expectations :)

After paying $ 150 for a partial color (balayage) last week (and then paid for a trim after) I came home, flat ironed my hair, & realized there was zero change to color in my hair! Called and told the manager, who told me to come back today and they would redo it, free of charge. I get there today and the hair colorist tells me she won’t color my hair so that «it doesn’t damage the integrity». Over and over she just kept blaming integrity the entire time. She could tell I wasn’t happy OBVIOUSLY and then offered a shampoo & conditioner… um what? If she had colored my hair correctly LAST WEEK I wouldn’t have had to come back today!!! So I continue to purchase a hair serum because I actually liked it on my hair last week, but management could only tell me to come back in the future and they would honor my «free redo». SCREW that free redo. If it was correct the first time, I wouldn’t be so upset — but no. No refund on my $ 150 that I WASTED on ZERO color difference. Nothing. Just a «I’m sorry, come again!».
I understand the colorist didn’t want to potentially damage my hair this time, but if it was at least even a LITTLE close to the MULTIPLE pictures I showed her last week, I wouldn’t have come back so soon with such an issue. No future business from me, thank you for ripping me off.

Justine is, in my opinion, the most talented and naturally gifted hair designer on this planet. She is quiet and thoughtful and is always truly focused and in the zone. She knows what looks best based on face shape and hair texture. I have very thick course wavy hair and she tames the beast and isn’t even 1% intimidated. I have always walked away 100% happy with her work! If you want the best haircut of your life, book with Justine!!!

Used to not be a fan of this place due to the prices and run of the mill haircuts. However, I was considering a huge hair style change and a friend recommended a stylist by the name of Thor. Let me say, wow. He truly went above and beyond to ensure me a great cut. The way he cut my hair and took his time to do so was like watching someone work on an art project. That sounds corny I know, but its true. I will continue going to this location as long as Thor is still there.

Thor gave me the best hair of my life for my sister’s wedding. We still talk about it from time to time. It was very photo-​worthy! He takes a very thorough approach at deciphering your hair needs… you can definitely tell he considers it art. Which is what is wonderful about many of the stylists at gene Juarez: they are artists.
Tara has been balayaging my hair for several years and although she generally goes down the path of what I envision my color to be, she always manages to surprise me with a pop of color beyond my expectation. I am satisfied with the skill and time that each ‘artist’ contributes. It is high-​class treatment and I recommend gene juarez.

Amazing Balayage with Ezra! I have naturally curly hair and she nailed it. I showed her a pic of what I wanted and rather than telling me all the reasons why she couldn’t do it (like every other salon) she said we can definitely do that today! Great cut from Vallerie. She is very personable and professional. No pressure to buy products and she didn’t act annoyed when I ask her to blow dry my hair straight like most stylists do. Yes it was pricey but for a change I actually got what I wanted and that made it worth it!

I’ve been to several stylists at this location. Thor is the best, he really knows hair, and has a kind and gentle demeanor. It got too expensive once I decided to cut my hair short (meaning I have to go in more often) so I switched to another salon.
My only gripe is that Gene Juarez sent me an email begging me to come back and offering me half-​off a haircut. I decided to take them up on the offer and scheduled an appointment, but when I arrived they told me that the coupon from the email was expired. That’s it. No attempt to offer me any other discount or anything to keep my business, so I just walked out.

Ava is the best at brow arches!

This is our go to salon for color and the cuts are good too. Be prepared for the bill, it can be hefty. Ask questions up front about what your charges will be or you will be surprised. On one occasion one of our kids was «up-​sold» and told her blow –out was going to be free, they charged us anyway. I like that they are time efficient. With two people working on your hair, you will need to tip two people. Come with cash, but leave with a satisfying experience that you can usually book last minute if you have to.

I love Lani’s haircuts! She is the best and an expert at her craft!
Always have a great time visiting with her, and she know how to keep my hair long, but healthy looking, and with layers that grow out beautifully… I barely have to do anything with my hair and it always looks great thanks to her skills!
I referred my BFF to her and she sings the same praises!
I highly recommend!
