Duris Cucumber Farm

Duris runs a number of booths at the Washington State Fair, and has for years. The treatment of those Fair employees, and the ones who travel with them to other county Fairs, is atrocious! They will hold workers cell phones after the events are concluded, demanding apologies for leaving their employment… hold workers checks from events when the other workers from the same event have received their checks… they call workers stupid and cattle in front of other employees and fair attendees… their employment practices (even while these events are seasonal) are unethical, immoral and disgusting. To have an entire both of employees quit DOES NOT speak to those employees morals, it speaks to the lack of humanity of the person running the show. I was at one of the booths when the woman running the event presented herself and it was outrageous. If any corporation had done this to their workers, they would be in court… but alas, these workers are not in this for the money as most of them have worked at these Duris booths for multiple years and even worked outside events with Duris. I will not be patronizing these booths, will forward my concerns to the Fair board and have already made sure to put their practices on blast to friends. It’s time someone retired.

I love fresh veggies and this place rocks. If you like pickling veggies they have all of the supplies you’ll need. I love the smell of the produce they have and the taste when I get home.

Good Farm with lots of fresh produce, we must have just made a mistake. We drove there for an hour expecting it to be a u-​pick place and it ended up just a store. I wish it would clarify this off their website. But anyways, the produce was great.

I love that they have more than cucumbers, but we’d be happy if they only sold cucumbers.

How cool that this is located close by. My sister in law and I were at the soccer field watching my nephews soccer tournament when we decided to walk over to this farm. These folks don’t just sell cucumbers but they sell all sorts of fresh local produce. melons, fruits, other veggies, local made bbq sauces, salsas, jams etc. They also give class on how to pickle if you’ve never done it before. It’s not any more expensive then the produce you find at your grocery market. Stop by and check this place out as you head towards Puyallup from downtown Tacoma. You will be helping out your local farmers and you can’t get more fresh then that.

Best pickling cucumbers in the US. Love this place. Try the cold pack recipe. AMAZING!

Traveled from Federal Way to purchase cucumbers as I have done for three seasons. No cucumbers available. Said I was disappointed and the blond male teenager laughed and said I needed to get there early for that. It was noon. No appology and I was embarrassed. Won’t happen again.

The Duris family does so much for the community. They also offer an awesome selection of cucumbers and other vegies for sale in an 80 years running, farmer’s market sytle format in front of the farm. Get here and enjoy some of the best veggies grown in that great valley soil!
