Department of Licensing

Wow. There were literally only 2 other people waiting in the entire room (I came on a Friday at 1:00pm). I was getting a new license with my new married name– even with the photo, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes! Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy peasy!
Accepts debit cards & cash (not sure about checks or credit) — unlike the DOL, which only takes cash & checks.
LOCK YOUR CAR. Mine was broken into in this same lot.

WATCH OUT! They give misinformation here and like to argue with you about it. So if you think they are wrong ask to speak to a supervisor. I had to argue with a lady who misinformed me on the correct documents I needed to get my license. The whole situation wasted an hour of my time and I have to wait an extra couple days to get my license because of her mistake. One star because it’s the lowest rating possible plus one for the woman who kindly informed me correctly and was very helpful instead of arguing with me.

Everyone is so nice here. Seriously only took 7 minutes to renew my driver’s license. Brilliant.

Such a friendly environment, surprising for a dol place! Got my enhanced license here with ease and not even s long wait! :)))

The staff here are extremely RUDE. I know that when you think of the DOL you dont expect exceptional service or short wait times. but this place has some seriously cranky people working here. I’m not one to be easily offended but I left this place actually offended by the way I was treated.
However, I gave the place 3 stars because it really does have the fastest wait times out of all of the DOL Offices around the South Sound area. If you dont mind being treated like you are lower on the food chain than cattle. this is the place to go to get in and out quickly!

The fees that’s included is way to much. Would give more stars if I didn’t have to pay so much. But the service was much faster than usual. The best staff I have ever met. So its worth the average rating.

I can’t believe I am giving this place 5 stars but it’s true.
I know not everyone will agree with me of course– since not everyone gets the same people to help.
Like most people. I never had a good experience with DOL/​DMV people in Washington or California.
I never knew… in Washington… DOL/​DMV were two different locations.
I stepped into the «DOL» and the guy «very nicely» said that «we do people not cars» haha which made me laugh a little.
He did give me directions to the «DMV» I have to go to after getting my new driver’s license.
I don’t know why… it cost me an additional $ 20… on top of the $ 25 fee for getting a license.
My sister and I had to wait an HOUR but it wasn’t one of those painful. long… horrible… one hour’s…
We were examining the staff. who we would end up with and who would be nice and who would be mean.
WE actually got a realllyyy nice lady to help me with my situation!
Other than… paying expensive fees. overall… this experience was great.
