I recently took my JD LX288 into the Purcellville shop for repairs to my transmission. About 2 months later Joe the service manager called and told that I would need a new trans for about $ 1300 plus labor. I told him to send it back as it was more than it was worth. He told me that he could probably weld the pulley to the shaft for a total of $ 600 and I told him to do it. Long story the tractor broke right after it was delivered and I demanded my money back which was never fully refunded. I went online and bought a new shaft pulley and fan brand new for less than $ 100. I pulled the trans and found that he had ever did anything and gave me a bill for $ 744. The tractor now works like a new one and I would not advise anyone to take any machines to that store which is now known as Virginia Tractor.

Gave me a quote for a mower. When came back would not honor, said they never wrote the quote, basically accusing me of lying.

Looking for a specific Echo blower. I would have purchased from Home Depot but they only had a less expensive model in stock. I checked the Echo web site and it lists two dealerships in VA: Winchester and Purcellville. The Winchester store did not have the model I was looking for so I asked them to call Purcellville store since it was a 30 minute drive. He stated he has two of the models I was looking for in stock. Got to the store and one of the sales staff said I am showing one in stock. He checked and of course came back empty handed. I commented to him that if you are showing one is stock then it is either on display or in a box. He responded «not necessarily.» Are you kidding me? Leaves are falling and these dealerships should have stocked leaf blowers in their stores. Get your inventory straight and stop wasting customer’s time. Check physical inventory first before you tell someone that you have it. I am there because I need it today. Needless to say I ended up ordering online from Home Depot.

Had to get a snow plow bracket repaired. Joe in service tried several options and went above and beyond to get the job done. Very satisfied with the customer service Joe provided.

All I can say is, dang this place is expensive for parts for my John Deere tractor.

Since we moved here in the early 2000’s, we’ve used the Purcellville Carlyle & Anderson for our John Deere needs, starting first with our garden tractor and later with our larger, compact utility tractor (a 2520 for your JD tractor enthusiasts).
I can say that sales at Carlyle & Anderson was thorough and fair, in both occasions and especially on the 2^nd purchase, worked with me to get my needed implements in the best way possible, at the best possible price. When our 2520 was delivered, the gent that brought it, went over all of the operation details and gave us a lot of «tips» for better operation.
When I went back a few weeks later to buy an iMatch, my account manager walked me out to the back storage area to help me pick up one to take that day.
I’ve always had great results with service as well. I’ve taken my mower deck to them several times for service and it was always done timely and correctly.
