Boots, jackets, fleeces, gloves, t shirts, running accessories — We’ve even got socks! At Appalachian Readiness & Essentials, our focus is on emergency preparedness and disaster readiness, and to that end, we’ve got an amazing line of water purification and storage systems, long term food supply options as well as other dual use survival/camping options for backup power and emergency shelter. We also carry the full line of Essential Oils and their accessories, great for those interested in natural and alternative wellness methods. As our motto says: Are You Ready? History
Established in 2013.
Appalachian Readiness & Essentials arose out of a love for the outdoors and the observation of common purpose for outdoor gear and emergency preparedness uses. We also saw the need for a true outfitter to support hikers on the nearby Appalachian Trail and the numerous Scouting units in the vicinity. There was also a great synergy between those who love the outdoors and those activities and an interest in natural wellness methods, particularly with the Essential Oils from doTERRA. We also truly love our home in the town of Purcellville, and the surrounding community and feel truly privileged to be part of it.

John M.
Manager
John has a background in the military and also worked in IT for 15 years. He wanted to start his own business and opened Appalachian Readiness & Essentials with his wife.
