Came in for a oil change with no appointment and was able to be serviced right away. Friendly guys that don’t try to sell you anything extra to hassle you. Got done pretty quickly so it was the easiest oil change I’ve ever had done. Thanks guys!

I took my car for an inspection and not only did he fix my car, but he also gave me a very thorough lesson/​advice on the maintenance procedures. My car needed a new battery, which he explained in detail of the voltage measurements when it’s running or powered off. Showed me what/​how to measure it and what his diagnosis was. We also checked the brakes/​rotor/​disks, allowed me to feel the tires, explained the oil change procedures, explained the belts, liquids, etc. I really enjoyed the quality and knowledge of the work he does. He’ll be my go-​to guy for my cars now.

I had a great experience with Frank. I had called a couple of mechanic shops about replacing my rear brake pads. Frank’s pricing wasn’t the lowest, but it was definitely on the lower end. The best thing about his service was that he had my car in and out in under an hour. He was very kind, and I was very happy with the service. I would recommend his shop to anyone with minor car problems.

Just a tip, let Frank diagnose the problem. I once thought I had a muffler issue, so Frank sent me up the street. It wasn’t the muffler, and cuz I was already in there, I just had them do the work.

The only completely honest mechanic I have met. He works hard to fix your car. We have had some weird problems that no other mechanic has been able to figure out, but Frank was able to do it. His wife works the counter and is also very sweet. This is now the only place we will take our cars for repairs.

It’s the only place I take my vehicles to get serviced. I 100% trust frank. He’s extremely fair with his pricing and he can always get the job done in a reasonable time. «I totally trust the guy»! That’s hard to find. Give him a shot.

I am an 18 year old girl living up here in Provo without any family or close man friends anywhere nearby, so I found out about Frank’s by checking out reviews of local business. I can say I am VERY HAPPY that I chose to come here!
For a couple of weeks my car had been making strange noises and acting strange whenever I would turn on the A/​C or defroster. As a teenage girl, I had absolutely no idea what was wrong with my car, so I drove up to Frank’s yesterday morning. He came outside, had me pop the hood, and immediately showed me what was wrong with my car, where the problem was, how it was effecting my car, and why it was happening. As a young girl, that was huge for me because I’ve had several mechanics try to lie to me knowing that I would believe anything. I appreciated how honest and sincere Frank was. He’s a really great and friendly guy. Got the price as low as he could for me and was completely honest about everything. I had him keep it overnight because I couldn’t find a ride back to the store until later this afternoon. When I told him that I was having trouble finding a ride, he told me that his wife would glady come pick me up from my apartment (about 10 minutes away) to give me a ride to pick up my car, and said that she frequently does this for other customers. He also buffed out my front headlights seeing as though they were looking pretty bad, free of charge. My A/​C is working and colder than ever today.
Overall I would definitely recommend Frank and I will be going back! He’s a genuine guy, very honest, and I feel comfortable that he would not try to rip me off! Definite 5 stars.

Frank is the best mechanic in Provo and better than any I’ve ever been to. The bad reviews I’ve seen about him look like flukes where people have really old cars that probably have all sorts of problems that can’t be diagnosed in one visit. And in every case they’re still impressed by his character.
I’ve been going to him for a couple years now and he always fixes my car right the first time. He never nickels and dimes, he never tries to throw in unnecessary repairs, and he’s always courteous, friendly, and honest. By far not the norm amongst mechanics. He’s just a good hardworking guy that loves what he does and genuinely cares about his customers. Good, honest mechanics like this are hard to come by. I’d recommend Frank’s to anybody.

I took my car to Big Boy Auto Service. They told me my rack and pinion needed to be replaced for 800 dollars. I took it to Frank because he said he could replace a rack and pinion for 650. When I took it in, Frank found that the rack and pinion didn’t even need to be replaced. It just needed some grease put into it. Frank fixed the problem for free. Big Boy Auto Service was trying to rip me off. Frank is very kind, helpful, quick, and honest. Go to Frank every time

Start with an honest mechanic, like this one.
I have only takem my car to this shop 3 times. I am a DIY mechanic and sometimes get in over my head. But I know enough about cars and mechanics to not get burned by a dishonest mechanic or bad repairs.
The first time I went to Frank’s, I mixed up the spark plug wires. I should have been able to fix this easily enough myself but I could not trace the wires to the plugs on the back side of my minivan engine. He found the problem and only changed me a fraction of one hour. Who charges less than one hour? I was pleased.
Next came a belt pulley. He replaced this and gave me the chance to keep a good pulley part for my next repair if needed.
Next, it was a leaking radiator. He said he could replace it but since I can do some repairs it would be cheaper for me to do this myself, which I will do. No charge from Frank.
The bottom line is that I trust Frank to only charge me for work done. And the work done so far has been high quality, at an honest price. That’s what I have been looking for.

Frank is an honest, fair, and excellent mechanic. After reading the other two posts on here, I wanted to respond with my experience. I’ve had my car repaired by Frank probably two dozen times since living in Utah. Only once did I have to return a week later with the same problem (which was not uncommon for the type of repair I had). Frank was apologetic and extremely easy to deal with. He fixed the car again free of charge, and the car has run perfectly since. If – for some reason — you have a less than satisfactory experience with Frank, I’m confident he would work hard to fix the situation. His reputation means a great deal to him, as that is the reason he has such loyal customers like me!

I’m glad I waited a week to write this review. Shortly after dealing with Frank I was ready to give him five stars. He was honest, did the work well and didn’t charge us too much. He didn’t however fix the problem we went in for because the car stopped making a problem when we got it to the shop.
Today however the problem started (or more like didn’t start) again. The car wouldn’t start. I had a mechanic friend over the phone tell me what to do to get the car started. Woohoo! Now I know what the problem is with the car. Frank while saving us money by not going in and tinkering with the car to find the problem still failed because he wasn’t able to fix the problem. I’m glad we know now, but with Franks non fix we could have gotten stranded somewhere. Before today, I probably would have gone back in a heartbeat, but today happened, and now I’m not quite sure. My recommendation, if you have a common problem or it is very obvious what needs to be done, go to Frank’s he is honest. If you have a bit of a puzzler, call the click n clack brothers and then go somewhere else. :)

The original review is left below, but I have to drop 2 stars because Frank was unable to diagnose a problem that returned and was later diagnosed over the phone by someone else in a matter of minutes. I’ll give Frank the benefit of the doubt here and props for not charging me for any diagnostics, but you’ve got to be able to figure out something like a busted/​dying starter if you’re a mechanic!

Here’s my story:
To my dismay, my trusty ol’ Jeep failed to start the other day. After many failed attempts, I was able to get it to start up so that I could get it to a mechanic. I dropped it off with Frank and explained the problem, mentioning I could use an oil change as well since it was already in the shop.
Later that afternoon, I called in to see if there had been any progress. Frank told me he’d tried to start the car 15 – 20 times and it started great every time. Either Frank has magical powers and cars self heal when they’re around him or my failed starts were a fluke. Either way, he asked if he could keep it overnight just to test it one more time in the morning, which was fine with me.
The next day rolls around and I call in to check on it (I was probably being annoying with all my calls, but I needed to be able to get to work by 9:30 so the pressure was on!). As before, it started up without any trouble. With no problem presenting itself, I went in to pick up the car. Frank mentioned he’d changed the oil and actually fixed one of the hoses that he noticed was leaking a bit. He then informed me that he would just charge me for the oil change, no diagnostic fees or anything!
This is huge, in my opinion. Many mechanics will nickel and dime you, telling you that your belt is bad, or even that you «flux capacitor» needs more «megawatts» (trying to confuse you with fancy, made up terms). Frank did neither. He was perfectly honest, even telling me that my belts didn’t need replacing yet after I’d asked if they did. Try asking that question at Jiffy Lube immediately after you put a new belt in and they’ll tell you that you need a new one!
Frank’s isn’t the most inexpensive repair around, but it’s far from the most expensive either. I paid $ 44 for my whole endeavor. More important than price or anything, Frank is an honest mechanic. That alone is worth everything! Go to Frank’s when you need service — you won’t be disappointed and you will be taken care of!
