J Dawgs offers 2 different kinds of ¼ lb. 100% beef dawgs. The classic beef dawg or the local favorite, spiced polish dawg. We put it on a fresh, daily made bun and top with our Special Sauce, onions, pickles, sauer kraut, banana peppers, and jalapenos!
History
Established in 2004.
Let’s hop in our DeLorean and take a trip back to 2004. Jayson, known as «J,» is a BYU student with no car, no girlfriend, no money, and no post-school career prospects. One day, after passing a 1212, abandoned red shack covered with concert posters, J thinks, «That’d be a great spot for a hot dog stand.»
A few months later, J pawns his prized Fender Telecaster and launches his dream. He takes trips to home-repair stores and carries back supplies on the city bus. He discovers which dawg is most delicious by hosting taste-testing parties. He continues to attend classes in the morning, mow lawns for BYU grounds crew in the afternoon, and fix up the shack at night.
On, June 9, 2004, J Dawgs opens its doors, hitting the ground running. Since then, much has changed, but more has stayed the same. J Dawgs outgrew the little red shack and opened a bigger location. While the shack is fondly missed, it’s great to offer indoor seating and bathrooms.
