First of all… weird weird weird layout. This place felt like an illegal boy-bar out of the twenties that quickly turned into a restaurant when someone warned the police were going to raid. Unfortunately for Thai Aroi the authorities could have made arrests on the food alone. Spring rolls: warm on the outside COLD in the middle. Fresh rolls: Rice paper wrapping was like rubber. Pad Thai: A little too fishy My friend got chicken in red curry… there were only 4 chunks of chicken! He said the sauce was good though. Our service through the meal was good and attentive… until a large party came in and we had to wait 15 – 20 mins on the check!

had to revise my prior review. prices way up this year. a/c not on when it should have been. apparently new management and is now a «thai sushi» restaurant. 80% sushi, which is too last millennium for me, so have not tried it here. their thai food is more limited than last year and more expensive. maybe not worth the price increase although the currys are still very good. slapped up décor downhill from last year — bring back the buddhas! still no parking, of course. guess they wanted to change something, anything, so invested in sushi and raised the prices. too bad. last year there was only one thai place in town, now there is only a half thai place. thai lunch specials are good but overpriced at $ 8. average prices for the japanese food is about $ 15 — just like every other restaurant in town and the sushi chef is thai; no differentiation there. as mentioned, have not tried the sushi, so someone try it out and write a review. place is off the main street and has no parking, so that’s the problem — adding sushi(and raising prices) will not work. bring back the old prices and keep the great thai food(and leave the sushi to the japanese).

When i was in provincetown the weekend before last, we went to thai aroi restaurant. we stumbled upon this, hungry from our almost 6 hr car ride and decided to give it a try. that’s easier said than done, because although there is a sign on the outside, it’s very hard to figure out how to get in to the acutal restaurant. we went in and found a bar, an inn, but no restaurant. after getting lost a couple of times, we did find it. there was only one waiter for the whole place, which wasn’t very big, but he still could have used help. he also didn’t speak english very well. because of this, he messed up a couple people’s orders. one was my friend’s. his dish first came out entirely different from what he ordered, and then when he got it fixed, it still had chicken instead of lamb. my other friend’s dish also had chicken instead, and we heard a woman at another table who got tofu instead of meat. despite these minor difficulties, the food was really good. i had a lemongrass tofu thing(despite the disaster of it at another restaurant recently, that review coming soon) and it was really yummy. my friends dishes were similarily good, and two of us had strong thai iced teas. those made us so hyper we were laughing. but i liked it. i would reccomend this place to anyone who isnt overly picky about getting what they ordered. it has good food, at a very good price.
