History

Established in 2007.

Partners Herbert Acevedo and Kevin Miller, with backgrounds in interior design and architecture, opened SHOR in March of 2007. With a vision of creating a home furnishings shopping experience that would be fun and adventurous– we combined our love of mixing modern, traditional and vintage furnishings for our design clients into a shop that reflected that philosophy.

SHOR has become our laboratory for our interior design studio– a place where styles mix playfully, and change is a constant.

Meet the Business Owner

Kevin and Herbert M.

Business Owner

Kevin was born and raised in a small town in the heart of Kansas. Early on he knew that architecture was his path. Kevin graduated with a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas in 1992 with an emphasis on historic preservation. Herbert was raised in a small coastal town in South Florida. He studied Fine Arts and Interior Design at the New York Institute of Technology. They met in 1995 and both moved to Marblehead, a small coastal fishing village in Massachusetts.

After purchasing a weekend house on Cape Cod they both decided that their home and hearts belonged to the farthest reaches of the outer Cape and moved there in 2004. Kevin worked at a prominent architect design/​build firm for 7 years. He and Herbert opened Shor in 2007 in Provincetown as an eclectic and sometimes eccentric home furnishings store and interior & architectural design studio.

Kevin and Herbert are available for consultations and designs for renovations, additions and new construction.
