The art work was nice enough… before the guy in the gallery threw my son and I out.
We entered a little before noon. We were the only people in the gallery besides a man behind a desk in the back of the gallery. My 11yo son related one of the paintings to an experience he had in art class this year. Yes, a simple quiet conversation and we were asked to «take your discussion outside». My wife wondered what had happened when we were suddenly no longer in the gallery and this man slammed the door behind her as she exited.
I spent most of our stroll back up Commercial Street trying to explain this mans behavior to my kids and I couldn’t. His attitude was rude and anti-​social. Ultimately, this is what happens when people who don’t relate well to the public work in settings where they have to deal with the public.
We go to p-​town every summer and enjoy the many galleries in the area. We had never noticed this particular gallery in the past. ALL of the other galleries we visited that day (and have visited in the past) were welcoming and encouraging to my children and their interest in art. One owner remembered us from last years trip.
I don’t write negative reviews. If I dislike something, I figure I’m probably not alone and I’ll let others take charge, but this was beyond rude.
