History

Established in 1988.

ViaVia Pizza is an Authentic, old school, Quality Comes First gourmet pizza restaurant that opened its first location in Newport, RI in 1988 selling only 5 types of Wood Fire Brick Oven Pizza Slices.

Our owner has over 30 years of pizza making experience (8 years Venice, Italy) & has incorporated his vast knowledge into our Authentic Gourmet Menu of Wood-​Fire Brick Oven Specialty Pizza’s, Calzone’s, Pasta’s, Wraps, Appetizers, Smoothies, Shakes, Ice Cream and Desserts.

In the Early 90’s to meet demand. We Established and moved our operation to Williams Street in Newport, Rhode Island and The East Side of Providence next to Brown University which we closed in 2010.

It’s 2014 and ViaVia Providence is Back in town Bigger and Better than ever.

We are coming for the title of The Best Food in town.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

The owner of ViaVia (Mr. Badr) has over 35 years of experience in the Gourmet Pizza Creation Industry.

Mr. Badr began working in Venice, Italy learning to make pizza’s and mastering the wood-​fire brick oven at the tender age of 16 years old.

He moved to Providence, RI and in the early 80’s became the pizza chef of Adesso of the East Side of Providence under the guidance of «The Golden Boy» Ed LaDou who some consider to be the best pizza chef in the nation if not the World.

Celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck is the owner of Spago «The Golden Boy» was the head pizza chef of Spago Restaurant in Los Angeles.

In 1988 combining what he had learned from some of the all-​time great pizza chefs Mr. Badr created Via Via Gourmet Pizza.
