The good news: The food and the service. The bad news: The Wurst Kitchen is not actually a restaurant. It’s a cramped little hole in the wall devoid of ambiance where we got to watch the couple across from us argue for an hour and a half. But the food is amazing and the beer list is just as good. By all means, go the The Wurst Kitchen. But don’t think for a second that you’re going to a sit-down restaurant. Go for the food and hope that you get seated next to normal people. And for what it’s worth, the Chez Pascal dining room looked really nice. To the poor guy across from us on Saturday night: Press the reset button and move on, that damn woman really is all about herself. Run. Like. Hell! Here is what the inside of The Wurst Kitchen looks like, you can see how easy it is to find yourself really close to two people who shouldn’t be in the same room together.

Delicious every time! The onion bacon relish, and the beer bratwurst is excellent. Very pleasant staff. Perfect spot for sitting outside and enjoying a delicious meal and the weather.

Top notch German food right here. I love The Wurst Kitchen/Window just because it is so unique to be sitting in a traditional French restaurant @ Chez Pascal. It is nice and intimate and separate from the rest of the restaurant. The bar area is wonderful if you want to sit and chat or talk to the chef(also pretty awesome to just see and smell all the food). This area of Chez(like the restaurant) is very relaxed, comfortable and the staff is very easy going. The sausage is served on platters complete with a dipping sauce. If you were looking for anything on a bun, hit up the Window versus the Kitchen. Trust me you don’t need the bread, every sausage coming out of this restaurant has been excellent. Trust me if you want to lessen the hit to your wallet but still have the great food of Pascal, hit up The Wurst Kitchen/Window, a true staple of the Lippett end of Hope Street.

The Wurst Kitchen hit the perfect spot for lunch! The Frankfurter Friday Special is highly recommended. A sampler of 4 half-dogs, it’s an excellent survey of what this place has to offer on the wurst front. The condiments\embellishments do overpower the sausages a bit but who cares? Delicious!

I very much enjoyed the relaxed sushi bar type atmosphere. West at the bar and had the pastrami and the pigs in a blanket. The mustard and the side of pickles really made it!

Awesome dogs ! Nice people and a salted chocolate cookie. The food is clearly high quality. They might be the only people to sell a hot dog but not junk good. Dare I say it I may have been a healthy lunch?

I’ve been here a bunch of times and have probably tried every sausage they have here. THEYAREALLGOOD. Like, really good. The buns are fluffy and delicious, the spices are complex and complimentary, the potato salad is slamming… what more can I say? Oh yeah… the beer onions. Get anything with beer onions. Especially with feta and mustard. Best combo ever. I would put that on a burger, on a sandwich, you name it. Whatever love potion they put in those beer onions, I CRAVEIT. Love love love. Wurst Kitchen, you’re the best.

Wow! We were lucky to grab two seats here during our only night in Providence, during our ‘enjoy every sandwich’ road trip. We sampled many of the small plates — all very good — but the Meatloaf Sandwich stood out above the rest. This sandwich was the reason for our visit and it did not disappoint. The mix of brisket and pork was super tasty and surprisingly not super greasy, elevated to food heaven with the accompanying coleslaw and tomato chutney. The prices are insanely low for the quality of food being served. Service was super friendly and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed some of the creative, hand-crafted cocktails — and the dessert special. A strawberry rhubarb crumble with goat cheese mousse. A great, great meal. Wish they were in Brooklyn!

Fantastic home made German sausages. You can order from a window in the summer and sit on the street while admiring Lippitt Park across the street. We got the Knackwurst, which came with kraut and dijon mustard(very spicy) and the bratwurst, which had a grain mustard and a curried onion sauce. Both were served in a toasted bun and came with a small cup of potato salad. Wurst Kitchen also makes a mean sea salt chocolate chip cookie. This is one of those«wait, why don’t I live in Providence?» experiences.

Me and my Mister will go to eat big fancy sausages. They’re so big but you don’t have to force them down. They’re uncut and have a nice thin skin. You’ll want to relax your throat while you’re going down on your sausage. You’ll also want to cup the balls of potato salad that come on the side. After I’ve got that all over my face, I will order an additional hot dog because my refractory period is short. I leave full of meat and then go home to fall asleep.

How have I not written a review about this place? The Wurst Kitchen is part of the famous Chez Pascal, but instead of paying $$$ for amazing French food, you can sit outside on a gorgeous summer day, and pay $-$$ for great German sausages, charcuterie and enjoy each other’s company. The price is decent for wursts and if you’re into the«on-the-go good food» and sausages, then stop by on a weekend before heading to the local farmer’s market and grab a sandwich at the Wurst Kitchen window.

Great place. We had the frankfurter special which was 4 different halves. They were all great. We also had the brisket sandwich. The brisket was perfectly braised and the house made pickle chips were great. They had s few local beers on tap. Never heard of Bucket Brewery from Pawtucket. It was also good. Definitely have to try this place

Entering the Wurst Kitchen is the closest you can get to Germany without purchasing a plane ticket! This lovely secret gem is tucked inside the dining area at Chez Pascal in Providence. It’s a sort of restaurant inside a restaurant meant only for the initiated. There is also a speakeasy like window on the street where one can place a takeout order for anything you like. It’s eerily(and tastily) similar to restaurants I’ve been to in Bavaria. Being there seriously makes one wonder whether you’ve been oddly transported over the Atlantic somehow with the tasty authentic Wurst, the delectable side dishes and the amazing German beers that I’ve never seen anywhere else in the States– except here. Service is prompt and cheerfully executed by the chef behind the grill. Go on, make friends if they’re not too busy! Leave your passport at home and get your German fix here instead!

Looking for something quick and sinfully delicious? Head on down to Hope street. You’ll become confused as I was as you stand outside the sign that says«Chez Pascal» as you try to get into the restaurant. Nope there is no alternative door and yes it’s the same restaurant. Well kind of. They occupy the same space. Open the door and head right in. Or perhaps you’re on the run and you need your wurst NOW. Step up to the window then, place your order and in about 10 min or less you have yourself a gourmet hot dog! Clever name for a restaurant, right? Half the time I tell people about this place I have to clarify how it’s spelled. Anyhoo, you step right through the doors of Chez Pascals and head to the back room where there is a small number of seats by the bar and you make your order. The menu has probably about a dozen items on there with 4 choices of gourmet wursts on a bun or hot dogs to some other people. Bring an appetite because you’ll want more than one and each serving is rather large. Each meal is served with a home made dog that are specially made for that particular dish. Depending on the week you go you’ll have different choices. Since my ability to recall the names of anything(and anyone) is poor, I’ll have to describe it. My first hot dog was the special of the day which included a slightly spicy sausage adorned with a drizzle of horseradish sauce atop of a generous portion of caramelized onions. It was exactly as it sounds: delicious! They have a small number of interesting homemade gourmet desserts as well so I suggest allowing yourself a little extra room for this. You come here, eat quick and leave quick which is how they seem to make their business. Sausages on a bun are served during lunch but you can also order from the Wurst Kitchen when Chez Pascal’s is open. Parking on the street which is kind of a hassle but I generally don’t have an issue unless it’s Friday night.

WOOOHOOO! This place is so delicious and more than I expected! Having always wanted to eat at Chez Pascal but never actually making it, I was overjoyed when my friend offered to treat me to the Wurst Kitchen for my Birthday. We sat outside on a particularly hot day, and me being kind of picky with outdoor seating, I really enjoyed the vibe especially on a quiet weekday. The service was friendly and prompt. We decided to share one sausage and each get our own as well. I ordered the Pork + Fennel sausage, which came with mustard and Feta and was so pleasantly delicious and different from sausages I have had before. We split the Thuringer bratwurst, which I may say might be my favorite now, and my friend got the brisket(which I secretly wish I had ordered because it was unreal). We did not get the buns on anything due to a food allergy, but I have to say even If I could have it with a bun I almost prefer it without one! I feel like you get more of the flavor without it. The Wurst Kitchen is a great place for a quick lunch, you can order at the window sit outside or inside if you want to stay a while longer. The food is so delicious and fulfilling. The prices were extremely fair, especially for a lunch full of meats that kept me full well into the night. A round of applause for Wurst Kitchen!

The Wurst Kitchen is a great little place to grab a bite with a friend, sip on a glass of pinot whilst nibbling charcuterie, or pop by the window for a quick lunch. It’s a totally unique concept for this area, and I happen to love it. My favorite part of it is definitely the cozy, casual atmosphere and incredibly well-done charcuterie. The chef here is crazy-talented and really knows what he is doing; I actually recommend going for whatever amazing meat plate they’re offering that day with either one of their amazing beers or fantastic wines. The window is fun, but can get a little crazy — especially on the weekends when everyone is looking to grab a bite after the farmers’ market. However, it’s a solid option, especially is you’re into sausages of the artisanal sort.

Sausage fest! Love this place. Due to the existence of a toddler in my life, we only use the window service. The cheddarwurst and classic brautwurst are amongst my favorites, and the general path of you never know what you are going to get for the special of the day. The bacon jam is SOGOOD(please, Wurst Window, just have that all of the time), and the kraut is salivating. Mustards are licking your lips, put a bit on every bite delicious. I’ve sampled sides of potato salad before which were tasty. My only issue is I do question how long it takes to grill these tasty suckers up sometimes(20 minutes last night). Bit too long of a wait.

First of all, I loathe the day when Chez Pascal decided to get rid of Hetwin’s Mobile Dogs, taking these delicious, delicious sandwiches away from the Pawtucket winter farmer’s market. Second, I am, ultimately, grateful that I can have the bacon-wrapped pork butt meatloaf with fig jam and shredded cabbage any time that I want to now. This sandwich is out of this world, and the Wurst Kitchen does an overall good job of combining savory & sweet on a number of sausages and sandwiches. The sea salted chocolate chip cookies are also worth a try.

I’m ashamed this has been open for 1.5yrs and this was my first visit! I knew about the window but the kitchen, what a cozy nook tucked into chez pascale! It’s everything pork and that’s just fine! 4 counter seats where you can watch wurst wonders sizzle before they are prettily played and slid over to you. Or, communal benches if you have a few more friends. Service intimate and entertaining, food and drink readily dispensed. Wouldn’t mind a few more beers on tap but all the necessities to enjoy a simple homemade hotdog or indulge in its more gourmand cousin are more than amply provided. Highly recommend the spaetzle, it’s herb-y pan fried goodness is topped w tangy kraut as well as their chorizo deviled eggs on fried chickpeas and kale. The menu of wursts change and there are specials. We went w the knackwurst and another w pistachios. Plated simply yet attractively these sausages were paired w a veg and a mustard. I piled on the creamy napa slaw and liberally dunked in spicy Dijon then popped it all in my mouth to an omg moment of smoky flavor followed by mellow creaminess and finished w a smooth bite from the mustard. And then I did it again and again and again. As should you.

This is sausage love at its finest. I honestly prefer the delicious sausages here to the also homemade ones at Daniel Boulud’s DBGB in NYC. I think the sausages themselves are so full of flavor, with great texture(none of that mystery you sometimes get with other sausages – what was that crunch?), a nice snap from the casing, and best of all, the wonderful, homemade toppings and sauces. Also, shockingly these sausages are very filling without feeling too heavy. The first time I ordered one, I was convinced I wouldn’t be satisfied by just one sausage. I’d need a side dish or something. Wrong. I was happily full without feeling guilty about it, and the sausages actually taste pretty light(at least to me). I’ll just keep telling myself they’re good for me… Every day there is a variety of sausages for your pleasure(get your mind out of the gutter!). The menu changes regularly so even if I were to recommend something now, it might not be on the menu next week! Just trust me that everything is good! No… GREAT! I have only been here for lunch, where everything is served on a bun, but at dinner I’m told these sausages are served sans bun with fancy schmancy accompaniments. I haven’t tried it for myself though. Perhaps someday! All in all, the Wurst Kitchen is great! Just beware of the current construction on Hope Street. It will be a pain in the ass, but the trip will be worth it :) There are delicious sausages at the end of the rainbow…
