History

Established in 2013.

Established in 2013 and inspired by the insanely popular, fun and funky flea markets in Brooklyn, New York, we had the idea to recreate this urban hotspot of cool right here in our own capital city. So we went looking for a central location downtown, preferably on the river, with a great view of the city skyline – it’s small but it’s ours – and plenty of space to roam.

We’ve created that space for treasure hunters and vintage lovers, upcyclers and retro seekers, and anyone else who appreciates that which is or can be recycled, reused or re-purposed. Our juried, urban flea market launched on June 2013 and is held outdoors this summer every Sunday, June through mid-September, rain or shine, from 10 am — 4 pm with unusual finds, art, fashion, local crafts, curiosities, furniture, food trucks and more.

We also hold several holiday markets indoors in December. (Visit providenceflea.com for more details.)
