Salon Thread – Elmhurst

I have been a customer of Salon Thread for a little more than a year when they only had the Pawtucket location. Once the owners opened a second location in Providence it has been my second home. The $ 14.99 monthly membership is a no brainer. You get unlimited threading for $ 14.99! Can’t beat that and the service is friendly, professional and exceptional! My eyebrows are shaped perfectly each time.
The salon is clean and well decorated with comfortable waiting areas.
The biggest plus is that the owner is in the salon and takes the time to know her customers. She’s a sweetheart!

My first time at Thread was awesome!!! Great service, fast and efficient. Place is clean and nice. Staff is welcoming. Salon is beautiful with complimentary beverages offered to clients. Unlimited monthly threading deal is great and prices for waxing & facials are the best I have seen anywhere & they take walk ins. Try them out.

I used to love this place. Then they started cycling the workers too much and it is often someone new. Worst of all they kept finding ways to upcharge me. First I lost my card and they charged me the old month and new month which I totally understand but added a $ 10 activation fee. Then my wife was sent a new card because hers expired another $ 10 activation fee. Now I got a card with a chip and they are telling me even though all the numbers are the same I once again have to pay a $ 10 fee. They just lost two subscriptions over $ 10. Worst business plan ever. Not to mention their best threading girl started her own business elsewhere and that many different locations have similar plans.
I am gone right now and never coming back

UPDATE: The owner, Shally, I saw my review and contacted me within two hours of me posting it. She was very gracious and apologetic and wanted the opportunity to fix the mistake with my lashes. I went back this morning, and I could not be happier with the outcome. These were the lashes that I thought I would have got yesterday. So glad I gave them a second chance! I’m upgrading my review from three stars to five because of the way the situation was handled. Thank you for valuing me as a client.
So this review covers a couple of things. I usually go to the Smith Street location. I think I prefer that location although parking is hit or miss. I never have to wait very long and my eyebrows are always perfect! Unfortunately today I tried the temporary eyelashes as well the threading. Threading is always was just what I wanted.
However, the eyelashes are absolutely horrible. I went to the hillside location because the girl does lashes wasn’t at the Smith Street location. As sweet as she was, her work ended up making me look like a drag queen. I had them on a total of three hours before I ended up ripping them off. Losing my natural eyelashes in the process as well. But I was prepared for that. They were too heavy, had too much glue, are way too thick (I asked for a natural look), and they did not extend all the way from end to end of my lash line.
I will continue to go back for threading but never for lashes again. Unfortunately I was warned that if I did not like them, I could not get my money back. I should’ve known that it was a disclaimer of the work being done. I’ve added a few pictures…

I’ve come here a total of 3 times and really enjoyed it every single time! I was new to threading and even slightly scared to try it out, but since I saw they had a Unilocal special I thought why not! And I’m so glad I did! The lady who usually accommodates me is great! I grew out my eyebrows for quite some time before going just so she could shape it properly and it turned out better than I expected! It didn’t hurt much at all and she took her time to really get all the hairs!
Now I have a membership and can’t wait to come back!

OK this is coming right from the horse’s mouth, this place is the best Threading place in RI. I love the ambience of Salon Thread. They always greet me, even if they are busy. They have the best customer service and I always leave the place promising to return back, and I always do. I have been here since they are open. My eyebrows always look amazing. Their membership is so affordable, I get my eyebrows and lips done and I utilize every penny of my membership efficiently, lol.
All of the employees do a great job here. You can explain them how you want your eyebrows and they will do their magic. I love this place.

I’ve been a loyal customer since this salon opened and sadly I can’t bring myself to go back. In the past 5 – 6 months I have been getting pretty bad service and the threading is extremely painful to the point where my eyebrows literally bled. You either get a great threader or someone who is awful and doesn’t take the time to ask you how you would like your brows. If they got rid of some employees who don’t know what they’re doing, I would consider going back.

I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and have gone to salons all over the country. Thread is one of the best!
The salon is comfortable, the staff is friendly and professional. They take the time to talk to you about your brows and will make suggestions for maintaining the look you want. I have been going here for close to a year and my brows look just the way I want them to when I leave.

This was my second visit. I was a little concerned the first time that she was taking off too much as I only wanted a «clean-​up» and didn’t want my brows any thinner. Had a different threader each time. They work quickly and without talking to you, but I guess they can’t talk if they have the thread in their mouth! I didn’t think the first one I went to did, but I could be wrong. I don’t know their names, but I thought they were both good but for whatever reason I liked the second person better. I can’t believe people complain of pain! It pinches but I can’t say it really hurts. I don’t think the salon was dirty, but it did seem a little dusty. It looked like they may have been expanding and taking over the small storefront next door. I will probably go back on a 4 or 5 week cycle as needed as long as they do a decent job and don’t rip out too much.

So I was always a Waxer. I still prefer waxing because I feel like it’s less painful. But the skin irritation from waxing isn’t worth it. My brows always look amazing when I leave here. Yes, it hurts. But my brows are so clean and defined. I don’t pay for the membership because it’s not worth it for me. I just get my brows done once a month, but this is my new go to place for brows!

Always perfect eyebrows! Ambience is great and calming. Music is beautiful and relaxing. I never thought that I would enjoy have the hair ripped from my eyebrows but when I come here I am truly relaxed!

I love this place!. I used to go to the one in Pawtucket but now I go here. I only go to Cheryl she does an amazing job ! Everyone I refer to her also agrees ! She is the best !

Terrible service, literally ripped out my brow follicles, (I shed a few tears). Threader did the exact opposite of what was asked.
I asked just too have my eyebrows cleaned, and she threaded off a good amount of my brows, too the point both of my brows are way too skinny and completely uneven.
I only came because my originally threading place was completely booked for the day. I refused to pay for their service, but the threader was not trying to refund me for her work. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was so furious that I had to cancel my date!!!

Awesome experience! Today was my first time at Thread salon and I am very pleased and will be going back. I got my eyebrows and lip done, and used the $ 5 for $ 10 voucher from Unilocal (which covered the cost of the eyebrows, the lip was $ 7.) My eyebrows had not been shaped in a long time (I was trying to grow their previous bad shaping out, somewhat unsuccessfully) and there was quite a bit of hair to remove.
Thread has 3 threading stations. It is somewhat small but is immaculately clean and on a rainy, blustery day it was warm and comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. Their background music was very relaxing. I had no wait on an early Saturday afternoon. No problems using my voucher although it took an extra few minutes for them to process it.
Gory (I’m sure the spelling is wrong, I’m sorry!) took care of me. It seemed as though she was new and they were training her, but she was amazing, gentle and precise, and made it as painless as possible. Again, I am a baby with pain, and although threading always hurts me, this was one of the more painless experiences I’ve had. It took her a bit longer, but she was well supervised by another employee (who spoke in the most gentle, calming, unobtrusive way) and the end result was beautiful and very clean. They are perfectionists in the best way possible.
I’m not sure yet if I’ll be purchasing the monthly membership – I live across town so it’s a bit of a hike – but you better believe if I lived nearby I would be on that. Totally worth it.
I left and immediately texted my sister to recommend this place, and I’ll be doing a lot more recommending, and visiting, in the future.

Thread is amazing. The staff who work here are friendly, professional, and definitely know what they’re doing. When I arrived in RI, I didn’t even know what threading was and, after going to Thread, I’ll never get my eyebrows waxed again. Thread is exceptionally clean. Prices are very reasonable ($ 10 for an eyebrow wax and $ 14.99 unlimited waxing per month). Can’t recommend it enough!

I have to leave this place a second review because they’re just that amazing. The staff I can’t get over how friendly they are, so professional. It doesn’t even matter who does your eyebrows there they all make sure you leave looking amazing. This place is so clean, and beautiful inside I get a nice cozy feeling .
The lady who helped me out today was so nice and so gentle. I had to tip her even though I’m already the 14.99 unlimited monthly member. Please check this place out, the parking is a little bit of a hassle but so worth it.

Had a wonderful threading there today. It’s quiet, clean, relaxing and the techs are warm and inviting. For $ 14.00 I got my eyebrows done perfectly and lip also. (Can’t believe I’m actually admitting that! Oh well — it happens!!)
I would definitely recommend trying Thread.

I was thrilled to see that this threading salon just opened right down the street (literally can walk there!). It beats having to go inside a crowded mall and pay for parking. While I’ve only been one time, I had a great experience. Eyebrows looked great and the threader was very fast and efficient. They also have a «membership» of sorts for $ 14.99. Unlimited threading for the month. While I’m not sure I’ll need more than once a month, it’s great to know I can go down any time and that it’ll ultimately be cheaper than what I pay each time I go. Great offering!
