I’ve been riding for 40 years and coming here for about 15. These guys know their stuff. Tom at service had everything I needed to rebuild my drive train in stock and even offered choices. Just a superb experience. Turns out the old bike needed more work than I was willing to do so I traded it in. John the sales guy was equally helpful and very knowledgable. The bike fit was thorough. I’ve tried other local bike shops. Never again. Stick with the best. !

Dropped in to the Warwick shop to have a bike checked out that I bought through Craigslist. Randy and Mark were super friendly about taking a look at the bike and offering recommendations for upgrade. Even after I expressed not wanting to drop a ton of change on it right away, they stayed friendly and non-​pushy.
Overall great reception to my questions and I will be coming here when it’s time to upgrade the lunker.

Ok, so I’ve been comming here for years and over the course of my time shopping here I’ve probably spent over $ 25k. I only ride cannondale and up until this year I have only bought my complete bikes and parts from prov. bicycle. Last time my fiancé and I went to the warwick location we were treated like a couple of assholes by one of the salesman, this guy watched us waiting for an associate for about 25 mins while he check out another customer and made chit chat about Lincoln woods trails while we stood there less than 5 feet away. After he was finished he just walked into the back and we didn’t see him again, without even acknowledging the fact that he saw us standing there waiting. We walked out and haven’t been back.
Today I decided to give them another chance, big mistake. I asked about a set of handlebars for my bike, the salesman told me they were $ 160.00, I told him the same pair was online for $ 34.50 and I didn’t understand why they were so much at prov. bicycle. He then told me that he doesn’t have to explain their pricing to me and then suggested that I buy them online if I don’t like their price.
We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on, this place needs to do some market research on pricing and really needs to rehab their customer service practices.

Nice big clean shop. Repairs have a fair turn over rate which is always a plus. The shop has a decent amount of road and mountain bikes on the floor. Parking sucks here if it busy…

I’ve had several experiences at the Providence branch. The first was shopping for a new bike, and the staff was very helpful and answered all my questions without any pushy salesmanship.
The second involved a tune-​up for my race bike, which went very smoothly.
The third involved gluing a set of tubulars, and on this occasion they really shined. I made the mistake of trying to remove the glue from an old wheel with some citrus-​based degreaser, and it took a few hours for them to remove it. They were transparent and made sure I was aware of the cost for removing the old glue. When I picked them up, they informed me that they had made a mistake about the cost of the labor, but they generously billed me at the initial rate they had quoted. They also threw in a truing at no cost.
I really appreciate the professionalism, honesty, and friendliness here, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a shop in the Providence area.

This place is awesome. I put a bike on layaway three months ago and fell on hard times and forgot about it. When I really needed the money back, I called up and talked to the manager Mike at the Warwick location. I explained my tale of woe and he did not hesitate to offer me all of my deposit back even though they held the bike for me and it wasn’t sold yet. He was very understanding and very helpful. I can’t say I’ve had such an nice experience with a retailer in a very very long time. At the end of the same day I had my money back in full and in cash. Thanks again to Mike and Dan at Providence Bicycle you are running a first class business.

Friendly, helpful, patient salespeople at the Warwick location. Comfortable and down to earth for those of us who are not quite road racers yet :) I bought a hybrid bike to ride around the neighborhood and the guys were super helpful, offering to get my bike and adjusted exactly to meet my needs, even if it took a few visits back. You have earned a loyal customer!

These guys were super-​helpful when I had to pack my bike for shipping on a Sunday after working in Providence for two weeks. They boxed up my bike for $ 50. Shipping was going to be $ 100 through whatever service they use, but I went to
and managed to save $ 50 by pre-​paying them for a label. Noah was kind enough to arrange the FedEx Ground pickup and, although it took longer than expected, I received my bike a few days later in Chicago.

By far the best selection of bikes and equipment Ive seen here in Providence and probably all of RI. My wife and I had our bikes stolen and were looking for a good place to buy from. The staff was super helpful, knowledgable, and went above and beyond to help us find the right bikes with the optimal sizings. At the end of the day we ended up with a pair of exceptional bikes and a much better understanding of bike mechanics. Id recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for great equipment, fair pricing, and helpful staff. Hats off to Providence Bicycle for running such a great shop!

After months of window shopping, test riding, and saving, I finally bought a new road bike at Providence Bicycle. And the experience was awesome.
Over the course of a week I browsed the inventory, got professionally fit, was assisted in selecting 5ish bikes matching my fit and budget, had all 5 adjusted to my measurements, test rode them on some gnarly hills, and finally selected the perfect one. As you can imagine, this process took a lot of time and energy on both ends! And I’m grateful for the dedicated service.
Prov Bike was the last shop I checked out. Some local shops had the customer service but not the inventory, some had the inventory but not the customer service, and Providence Bicycle had it all. Communication was excellent. People were honest. I truly felt that it mattered to them that I leave with a bike I truly loved.
A great buying experience. Easy to set up a payment plan. And generous with discounts on the bike (last season’s model) and on any new gear bought with the bike.
My only gripe is that it’s still an expensive shop. I rarely stop in because any and all gear can be found cheaper elsewhere or online.
But look no further if you’re looking to buy a new bike.
ps. to Adam who complained about the shop not being open on Saturday, it’s because the owner observes the Jewish sabbath. The hours are consistent and posted online. They are open until 8 most days, which makes the shop accessible despite the Saturday closing.

I’ve bought a bike here, helped my dad buy a bike here, and had lots of service done here. While their prices are definitely high, their service is excellent. The employees treat you with respect regardless of your level of knowledge and their work is exquisite.

Good service, lots of bikes and accessories. I have a Specialized Crossroad bicycle and went in for a tune-​up and new back rim, this cost around $ 165 (seemed on the expensive side).

Yesterday, I bought my first road bike here on sale, previously used. The attendant made me feel like I was getting a good bike at a good price. He was the reason I decided not to continue shopping elsewhere. He was simply awesome. He came off as honest and helpful.
Downfall: I had a flat the next morning after riding a couple hundred feet and I bought the bike yesterday. I called about repair and this snarky girl answered, explaining that the repair wasn’t free. I said I understood that I was to buy a new tire but to pay for the service didn’t seem right. She went on to insist that the service was $ 8 and that «the world is a scary place.» I did not appreciate this soulless, arbitrary response. All she had to say is they are not liable for flat repair. I wasn’t looking for a free ride, just a little sympathy over bad luck.
On the upside, turns out the real problem was that after pumping up the wheel while they serviced my bike for sale, they forgot to put the cap back on the valve.

Great shop, both the Providence location and the Warwick location. In Warwick, Mike and Lynn are always a big help. They carry a great selection of bikes, parts and have a knowledgable staff in both locations.
Sure I can grab parts cheaper on the web if I shop around, but for some things, I don’t mind paying slightly more to support the local shops and to get great service.

I will be the first to admit that I have zero knowledge about bikes/​cycling. My dad wanted some bike gloves and a chain cleaner for his birthday, and a co-​worker recommended that I come here. I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon and got great helpful service from two different employees. I wasn’t sure what size gloves to get my dad and they were really helpful, even trying them on themselves to demonstrate how they fit and letting me know that he could exchange them if they didn’t fit him. Although the prices are higher than you would pay online, I feel like it’s worth it to support a Rhode Island small business. Would definitely return!

A really helpful bike shop that made us feel welcome. Sean helped us out as we were in need of some last minute things before the RI Half Ironman. He even went out of his way to show us some open water swims we could practice in. Overall, the shop is huge, with a ton of gear and a ton of bikes. It’s one of the only shops I have been to with a separate triathlon section, full of goodies. Prices looked right and the service guys were helpful too.

Staff yes are slightly inattentive but the shop has oodles of bikes from which to choose! I got my lovely Cannondale there and LOVE it. I did get measured prior to my purchase but they lost my measurements somewhere in the system. They still get a five star because of the bike options and the «feel» of the place. A little gritty!

This shop is closed on Saturdays, which means that all the weekend business is jammed into Sundays. I truly respect the owner’s commitment to observing their holidays, but believe that in order to make it work, they need to be fully staffed on Sundays. The people who are there, while not overly attentive, are definitely extremely knowledgable once you jump up and down and flag their attention.
The prices are higher than I’ve seen in Boston, but they have an adequate assortment of bikes (even if they don’t carry my bike’s brand) and will custom make a tri-​bike for you for a small investment. Also, once you get their attention, they are (mostly) all yours, giving you the time that you need to try out adjustments or a new feature (in my case new pedals). Generally, I don’t think there is a much of a market for bicycle shops in town, so while I’m in RI for awhile, it will do.
