I’m excited that Oop! has opened a new location downtown on Westminster street. Slowly downtown is becoming a shopping and walking place. This is one of the first places I go to when I have to find a birthday present for a girl friend of mine. I don’t always buy something here(I agree with Erin C that I wish there was more at a reasonable price), but it gives me ideas. This is a good place just to browse with a friend. The cigarette machine is hilarious, and I have always wondered what actually comes out of it. check out the knickknacks by the counter, there are some fun and funny little items.

Oop’s new location certainly is cute. I love the colorful polka dots painted on the ground outside and the bright hues on the walls. The items sold here are just as cute(in an extra-girly way that doesn’t really suit my tastes, but cute nonetheless) as the store, and range from gag gifts and candy to handmade tableware, absolutely gorgeous artisan jewelry, and furniture. The problem is the prices. The gag gifts and candy are cheap, but everything else seems to cost no less than thirty dollars(and often as much as a few hundred dollars). Some items, such as amateurishly decorated personalized dishes or bowls made from old records, are just plain overpriced. Oop seems good for a wedding present or a very special occasion, but not for an everyday injection of cute.(Their web site, however, has a number of deals under twenty-five dollars. Try that out if you have trouble finding things in the store.)
