Established in 2000.
The Center was founded in 2000 by Dr. Laurence M. Hirshberg, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist and Brown psychiatry faculty member with more than 20 years of experience.

The NeuroDevelopment Center is directed by Laurence M. Hirshberg, Ph.D. Dr. Hirshberg is a licensed clinical psychologist, and serves on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior of the Brown University Medical School as Clinical Assistant Professor. He has been specializing in work with neurodevelopmental disorders for over 15 years and consults and trains educators and clinicians across New England. Dr. Hirshberg has published and presented in many areas of clinical psychology and child development. Dr. Hirshberg recently served as Guest Editor and contributor to a special issue of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics of North America devoted to emerging interventions in applied neuroscience, including neurofeedback and other brain based interventions. Dr. Hirshberg is conducting research on genetic, neurophysiological, and cognitive factors that predict drug treatment response and non-response in individuals with major depression.
