Uneasy Entertaining
Originally, we worked with Easy Entertaining’s employee Devorah beginning in January 2015. She worked with us to plan a creative and tasty farm to table menu with Chef Ashley that met our budget requirements. We had full confidence in their abilities to make our wedding day a success.
Four weeks away from the wedding, Devorah had left the company and we were working with the owner, Kait. We received a new itemized contract that was completely off from what we discussed at our tasting. Big issues like the removal of promised complimentary meals for the vendors and there were approximately $ 500 in additional set up, cleaning, and breakdown fees. When we inquired about these sudden unexpected costs and changes, Kait was extremely condescending saying «The buck stops here», «We are bending over backwards for you people» and «We wish these things could be handled by themselves, but they can’t». Utterly disgusted by the lack of Kait’s professionalism and tact, my husband and I decided to save costs and aggravation by setting up ourselves after our rehearsal dinner, having to ask family and our wedding party to pitch in and help. When we told the venue we needed to get in the night before to do so, they were shocked that our caterer wanted to charge us for this and felt so bad that they offered to have some of their restaurant staff do it for us.
Flash forward to the wedding day and the catering nightmare ensued. Something we only truly realized at the end of the night when we started asking our guests about the cocktail hour, meals, and cake. The reviews were so mortifying that I was sick to my stomach in tears the morning after my wedding and feeling stupid that we had already paid our catering bill in full before our wedding day. Here’s what happened:
Strike 1: Cocktail hour. 75% of our 155 guests said they received 0 – 1 appetizers at the cocktail hour. My husband and I reviewed our wedding video and found there were only FOUR servers serving trays with only SIX appetizers each continuously serving the same areas. We paid for TEN servers and 500 PASSED appetizers.
Strike 2: Dinner. Most guests stated their meals were cold or dry or both. Guests found the beef brisket to be dry and tough. We checked our leftovers later and sadly they were right. Chicken with risotto was supposed to be served. Most guests found the chicken to be cold and dry and thought the risotto was mashed potatoes. Again, we checked with our leftovers and found our «risotto’ like mashed potatoes.
Strike 3: Cake. My mother in law gifted us a 4-​tiered cake with Swarovski crystals handing between the tiers. ALL of our guests said they had one bite, went to dance to one song, came back, and it was gone. Our bridesmaid table of 12 people said they only got 6 pieces and had to share. The cake was completely wasted. They tossed it all in the trash and started cleaning up early before the night was even over. Also, we explicitly stated the top layer with topper and crystals needed to be saved. All we got back was the top of the cake (our specially engraved topper missing) and half of the crystals.
Rather than offering us a refund after admitting to these mistakes, Kait’s silver lining was verbatim, «Well, look on the bright side, you had a beautiful wedding and you’re married now.» We were shocked by this deflection and do not credit her with the positive aspects of our day. Therefore, we regrettably do not recommend this caterer.

Thank you once again Kait, Ashley, and all the staff at Easy Entertaining. I have gotten nothing but rave reviews from our guests in regard to the wonderful food and service they received on Saturday evening! You guys keep making me look good to our Alumni, donors, and friends at St. Raphael Academy. Have a wonderful Summer!

Much love to a place that is making interesting food, using mostly local ingredients, yet still keeping the cost reasonable. The specials are revolving on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. I have felt really nervous to lose something so tasty on the menu, and then I read the next week’s special and feel just fine. I have enjoyed everything I’ve eaten here, from pizzas to soups to sandwiches. I tried two different donuts one day and was not a big fan, but I am quite picky on that front. They tasted a bit stale and had an odd texture to me. My colleague enjoyed the donuts, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. The location is spectacular: gorgeous mill with high ceilings, modern chic décor, a beautiful bar, and some well thought out accents. This is definitely one of my new favorite spots — just remember, they are only open for breakfast and lunch!

Ok so my girlfriend and I have been here twice now and it seems to be get better and better every time. This is shocking since it was amazing the first time. They have a special pizza every week and this week was a taco pizza, which was very fresh and tasty. The mushroom crostini was to die for. It’s too bad that it’s a special and not on their regular menu. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The place is beautiful and I definitely recommend this place for lunch as they close at 2pm.

Great shop. A little hard to find but worth it. Doing the icced coffee challenge with rifood fights. went on Friday had the fresh doughnuts. Well worth it. Awesome I’ll be a steady Friday customer.

EE catered our outdoor/​indoor post-​wedding brunch for ~ 85 people. Easy entertaining is a misnomer. The name of the company should be Easy & Awesome Entertaining. Devorah made it easy to choose the menu. Super-​nice Servers & Chefs like Ashley, Nick and Dahlia who show up early and have everything ready when the 1^st guests arrive. Highly organized (they show up with 3-​ring binders that list what’s to be done and when). They keep everything replenished and clean as the event unfolds. Very reasonable pricing. We got raves about the food, and many guests asked «Who catered this?» Doesn’t get any better.

I have worked with Easy Entertaining several times now, and I have to say not only is it easy, it’s delicious! They’re definitely my preferred caterer of choice.
Start my taking a look at their fabulous website — it’s so well-​organized, informative and efficient it makes selecting your options a breeze. Get an idea of what you want, and then give them a call — they’ll walk you through everything you need to know and do to make sure your order is perfect and exactly what you want.
Another thing I love? All of their ingredients — from the meats to the cheeses to the produce — is locally sourced and delicious. They’re a truly thoughtful, passionate community participant and very obviously take pride not only in their work, but where their product originally comes from.
I was lucky enough to see the owner of Easy Entertaining to a presentation at a local food festival with a livestock farmer she frequently works with, and the knowledge, passion and dedication these two women displayed during their lecture was inspiring and encouraging. I am so glad to know of them, and to have worked with them a few times now. I look forward to doing so again, and encourage anyone on the hunt for a caterer to give this group a shot.
Now, prices are a little higher than you might expect, but remember — this is all local food prepared expertly and lovingly. You get what you pay for, and with delivery included, you really can’t go wrong.

Delicious, on the whole, though expensive for the portions. Ambiance is lovely and the staff is delightful. The power salad is small and has not nearly enough fresh goodies on it to be worth $ 11, and if I wanted to add a protein – $ 15 is too much for grilled chicken on a bed of greens with a few radishes. The skinny taco salad was mixed greens with literally 6 beans on it and a tablespoon of cheese, then came with a massive taco shell (not the best combination of veggies, protein, and carbs if you’re trying to eat «skinny»). The soup my friend got was mainly broth. The food is delicious – I just wish there was more of what makes a dish good – the proportion of «fun» ingredients to the whole. I typically make salads for myself that are chockfull of goodies, so I expect similar or better from a restaurant – something I can’t easily make at home.

This is my favorite place to get lunch. Menu’s differ by the seasons while specials change even faster; always something new and delicious to try!

My co-​workers and I are becoming regulars now at EE; between lunches, private parties, catering and the cooking classes, we can’t get enough! We’ve had several lunches at EE and we love everything, every time. On our last visit I had the Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese and I swear I died and went to heaven! Hands down the best mac ‘n cheese I’ve ever had (and that’s saying something!). We’ve also reserved the back room for a birthday luncheon and had the absolute best time, food, cupcakes and service! Highly recommend EE for lunch, and catering and the cooking classes are a ton of fun too (Just remember to b.y.o.b)!

Its the best place to go for breakfast and lunch. The food is always excellent and comes from local vendors. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well!!!

Their ingredients are amazingly fresh and delicious from local growers and providers. The menu changes regularly so there’s always a new special to try out. They always have healthy options available too. A great Olneyville neighbor and small business to check out and support!

Great place for lunch. Food is prepared fresh with focus on local farms. Love their soup and iced tea.

They catered my fathers 70^th, and were so easy to work with, showed up on time, staff was very nice, all went off without a hitch, oh and most importantly the food was very good, loved the apps, and all local, seasonal food.

The coffee is divine! Smooth and velvety, strong but no bite. Served in adorable square mugs with a charming bottle of cream! The whole place looks like it is right out of a shabby chic catalog. It is tucked in to the entrance to Rising Sun Mills and is very quiet. From what I gather catering is their main money maker and they’re set-​up in-​house to do consultations. The café seemed like it was a good after thought, but I think it could really go places! There is ample seating, a large and well done bar (hooks for purses next to every seat ladies!) Yet I’m not sure they sell alcohol or even do weekend brunch. If they added on to their café menu and expanded hours they could do very well.
My breakfast sandwich was alright… it had a bit of a fishy smell to it. But the coffee. oh my!
