Crate & Barrel

Man, you gotta love this store. And of course it’s right next to Yankee Candles which makes this corner of the mall aMAzing. I wish I had a million dollars. If I won the lottery, I would head straight to Crate and Barrel (after I donate some to charity of course!). The fun part of going through here is imagining all the great things that I could add to my house even if it didn’t match! They have some of the best selection of outdoor furniture. I really love the porch umbrellas they had this season.
Today I specifically came for a Nespresso machine that other stores (*ahem* Macy’s) did not carry. Thank goodness they had it otherwise I would have been piping mad! Too bad they don’t have the milk frother (I was able to get that from Macy’s). Anyways, always great service and very polite individuals. I enjoy just coming to browse. Drop on by and you’re bound to leave with something even if you don’t need it!

I am not sure what to say. I just really love this place and I am really glad I do not have store credit card. So being a guy, I am a little uncomfortable saying how smitten I am with this place, but even my wife tries to steer clear so that she does not get stuck in there while I am browsing. Now she knows what it is like to be a husband when we hit the lingered department. :-)
Any way, if you have not ventured in, they have lots of standard kitchen gadgets as well as some unique ones. They are really well stocked in kitchen glassware and containers. They also have a great selection of standard home furnishings.

The perfect kitchen/​home store. Nice quality (step up from Bed Bath and Beyond) and not outrageously priced (:coughcough: Williams-​Sonoma).
Reasons I love it here:
1.) Nice glassware selection! Ranges from colorful, sturdy acrylic pieces to elegant Reidel.
2.) DISHES!!! We have a set for 10 that we’ve been assembling and since we stick to their white, square pieces, we can just keep adding new items and they always match! Love this.
3.) Lots of good kitchen gadgets: tongs, microplanes, brulee dishes, serving utensils, strainers, knives… anything you want and everything you need.
4.) Good sales! I got some gorgeous wooden wine racks and a decanter today that I can’t wait to show off.
5.) Everyone is always so helpful and they seem to be perpetually well-​staffed.
6.) The broad spectrum of colors, styles, and pricing means there’s basically something for everyone.
My #1 destination for kitchen and dining room/​entertaining items.

So there I was. Providence Place Mall. On my way to the Apple Store. Not the fruit kind but the Steve Jobs kind but that’s for another review.
I recalled that my wife mentioned some kind of white, square appetizer plate. Unsure of the remaining details I called her and she (1) was very happy that I remembered her making mention of said plates, (2) was tickled that I was going to obtain them without so much as her asking and (3) did in fact fill in the details so I could make said purchase.
Back to my quest. The store is large, clean and well lit. I love to cook and we entertain a fair amount. Thus, I am familiar with their offerings, enjoy browsing therein. So I entered with aplomb. However, it was the middle of the workday and I had other things, job-​related things, business-​owner related things to do so I had to get in and get out.
A yound lady, crisply dressed and sporting a fantastic smile asked if she could assist and I relayed what I was hoping to purchase. She knew its exact location and shortly thereafter I was paying for Twelve white porcelain rimmed squares, sized for modern entertaining. Packaged in a Crate and Barrel artwork box that are constructed of durable porcelain; have flared rims which keep food centered and are
dishwasher-​safe, microwave-​safe and oven-​safe.
Crate and Barrel, I shall return. That is, when I have time to wander and peruse your multitude of offerings.
