⁹⁄₁₁ Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony
The JAYCEES, Veterans’ Council, Scouts, Cadets, Public Safety Officials and Dedicated Volunteers will host a modest remembrance ceremony marking the fourteenth (14^th) anniversary of those who lost their lives, survivors and honoring those first-​responders in the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
Anyone able to participate or wanting to attend this public service observance, is welcome to stop by the JAYCEE Corridor and Arboretum at the Riverpoint Community Park — 110 Hay Street in W. Warwick (along the West Bay BikePath (Greenway).
The Ceremony is on Friday, September 11^th starting @ 5:30Pm and is being held under the Eagle Scout Trellis Entrance to the state Senator Roch Riverwalk at the Park.

This uplifting and inspirational mosaic display consists of over 10,000 hand-​painted tiles created by citizens representing a cross section of Rhode Island.
The contributors included everyone from the children of a nearby elementary school through senior citizens.

The Wall of Hope was dedicated in September 2002. The project was run by a nonprofit group (Rhode Island for Community and Justice) and they encouraged the contributors to honor the victims of September 11 and express their hopes and visions for the future.
It’s a beautiful and colorful sight to behold, as you see these thousands of little messages combined into stunning walls and panels of color.
The Wall of Hope has become a place for people to convene and remember on every September 11^th.
A granite slab bears the following inscription:
This mosaic was created by more than 10,000 Rhode Island Residents of all ages, races, religion, and cultures. The magnificent artwork you see here is a tribute to loved ones lost, to the heroes of the 9−11−01 tragedy and to our hope for the future.
The majority of the wall of hope tiles are held here in Waterplace Park. Thousands more can be viewed on the Providence Journal Building and inside the RI Convention Center in downtown Providence. The final home for the installation will be the Heritage Harbor Museum scheduled to open in 2005.
The National Conference for Community & Justice conceived and managed this project, but this art installation reflects a true community effort. Thousands of hours of volunteer time and generously donated financial resources made this project possible.
The message on the wall is clear, we may be afraid but we will not live in fear. We may be angry but we will not let anger divide our community. We may be saddened by our loss, but we will never forget the lives of those we hold so dear we choose to live in the light of hope.
