What makes Maddie’s Place different is the drive

to be the best: Better Ingredients. Better Pizza.

In 2012 owners DJ Moody and Ruth Helbig purchased Maddie’s Place not only as a continue homage to DJ’s beloved Aunt Maddie, but to restore a community gathering place, provide services and conveniences and make tummies happy! Aunt Maddie was a fixture at our lunch counter, and in the community and her spirit is smiling upon us as we try to bring smiles every day.

Both DJ and Ruth grew up in Prospect, and their families and friends are part of the wonderful community they serve. They believe strongly in providing a warm, friendly place to enjoy great food, lively conversation and much laughter. They also want to meet as many needs of the local community as possible, and provide a convenient and affordable option for many groceries, beer, wine, home and auto needs, as well as specialty services from propane to bait!

DJ and Ruth also own DJM34Racing, LLC and support local racing,

Meet the Manager

Ruth H.

Manager

Having been raised in Prospect, Ruth returned after twenty plus years of owning and managing businesses in the NYC area, to assist her best friend with restoring and operating the small country store in the town they grew up. She brings operational and organizational talents, as well as HR, marketing, and planning skills. She also is a «wicked good cook and baker»!

Born a ms raised in Prospect, DJ has a unique sense of commitment to Prospect and its residents. His Aunt Maddie (namesake of the store) was like a second mother, and was a fixture in the quaint mom and pop store. Each day is a tribute to her spirit, and to the town and people she loved. And as a food connoisseur, he delights in bringing delicious food and treats to everyone!
