Specialties

We are a family friendly martial arts academy that emphasizes modern and practical real world self defense. Our curriculum is comprised of numerous martial arts systems so we specialize in striking, grappling, clinch work, weapons, and weapon disarms.

Kids — Our elementary and middle school students are equipped with both self defense and anti-​bullying tactics.

Teens & Adults — Our teens and adults are equipped with a large repertoire that spans all aspects of hand-​to-​hand combat for self defense purposes.

History

Established in 2015.

Our dojo sits between Goshen and Prospect on 42 highway. We opened our academy in October 2015 after a long search for the optimal location.

Our school is new to the area as head instructor Sensei Ring relocated to Louisville from Kansas City in late 2014. He brings with him a diverse self defense curriculum that he’s developed over his 25 years of Martial Arts training.

Sensei Ring began his martial arts training at the age of 13 under Sifu Tony Garcia. At the age of 19 he transitioned to training under the tutelage of sensei Tim Embry and Hanshi Dan Kennedy which trained him in Hawaiian Kenpo, Okinawan Kenpo, Taiko Ryu Aiki Jitsu, and Kobujitsu/​Kobudo for the next several years. In 2010 Sensei Ring began traveling the globe as a contractor for the US Department of Defense. During his travels he cross-​trained in the systems of Kajukenbo, Brazilian JiuJitsu, and Muay Thai. In 2014 Renshi Gregg Brown promoted Sensei Ring to the rank of Shodan in the ancient battlefield art of Aiki Bu Jitsu and the modern self defense art of Shin Do Ryu Kenpo.
