I always go to this library when I’m on the island.

What a pleasant surprise to find this beautiful, nice library in this area! Definitely not what I was expecting given that this area is fairly isolated and there is not a lot of anything. This is next to a strip mall and by the entrance to the St Regis. It is spacious, has friendly employees and has a well stocked set of books and DVD. Yay! Love it!

They should take the«Public» out of the name because this place takes first place at fleecing its patrons every chance it gets — shame on this library! I paid for a library card, paid for internet access on top of that and now they want to charge me for checking out materials after charging me for a library card! How LOW can a business get? I tried to check out some DVDs along with a book tonight and was informed that each DVD had a check-out fee attached to it but the book was«free». Um — NO! I paid for the freaking card so I could check materials out in the first place so nothing is free in this sorry excuse for a public library. This place would have more credibility if they replaced the«public library» sign with a «Blockbuster» sign. Don’t waste your time at this place or with the retarded losers who run the place. This is by far the worst library I have ever dealt with.

Lovely lovely library. Check out the speaker talks, kid’s storytelling hour, and book club meetings. Nice freebie magazine bin. Good place to get DVDs.

The Princeville Library is one those places we visit whenever we’re here. It opened in 1999 and we visited the first time shortly thereafter. The shelves were sparsely filled but the building was beautiful. Now the green tile of the roof is darkening w/age and vegetation and it’s settling into its surrounding. The shelves are now full and it’s still one of the most beautiful libraries I’ve seen, rivaled only by the Danville Library in architecture and the Juneau Library in its setting. Today I researched the little bird Sally and I saw yesterday but I couldn’t find it for certain. More successfully I researched the tree w/beautiful yellow flowers I’ve loved since I first saw it in 1988. It’s a relative of the oleander and its sap and berries are poisonous, probably the source of its colloquial name, the Be-Still Tree. I went through 4 or 5 books to find it and confirm my finding. I adore libraries.
