This is our second season here and I must say it’s a great place to learn how to snowboard. So we were here Sunday march 15th. We went on the smaller trail to the left side of the mountain. We were behind a father and his daughter and the kid operating the life was very unorganized. Basically yelling at the child to hurry up cmon! GOGOGO. The poor girl was too scared and just went but the father could get on the life with her. The kid(young kid) basically just said oh well sir get on the next one. I’m sorry but I have a 5 years old son and I would never let him on the lift alone. We would def come back here but I would not bring my son. They are very big on this is a family activity and kid friendly and I don’t think it is at all. We also heard horrible story about the staff not being friendly about kids going up on the life or wont stop it for them if there was a problem. A lady in front of us even said there was a little boy who was hanging off the lift and fell because they didn’t push the emergency stop.

This is a review for our snowboard date night. Buy lift tickets online and save. MLK Saturday night was packed with long lift lines in the cold but once at the top, splendid groomed trails, no ice and plenty of room to play. Snowboard bliss. Parking can be a challenge if you have to park in lot 3 and bus up. TIP: Go to your local ski shop and ask if they have discounted buddy passes. Bring a friend to learn and save a bundle. Oh, the lifts are pretty fast overall and detachable so easy on and off.

We decided to hike up the mountain on Memorial Day since it was so beautiful. We had to park at a resort further down the road. We were unable to find any trails to hike up so we just walked up the mountain under the ski lifts. We got half way and were unable to keep climbing and we found the road that goes up to the top. We decided to hike back to the car and continue the trip up by car. We parked at the top of the mountain and found the trails that go up and down. The view from the top is incredible and since it was a clear day we could see all the way into downtown Boston. There is a little pond up there, spots to picnic, and an observatory deck. Next time we will get there early, and hike all the way up and have a picnic at the top. Perfect way to spend a beautiful day.

‘Nearer, my God, to thee’, ‘Closer to Mother Nature’, ‘One with the Sun’… Any of these quotes could describe the absolutely beautiful experience of hiking the trails of Wachusett Mountain. Coldblooded by nature, I OVERdressed for the hike; and, found myself heated and out of breath halfway up the mountain, but I was determined to reach the summit. It was motivating to see 5-year-olds moving at a faster pace than I could, so I decided to give myself a quick pep-talk(meditate) and keep going. The footing on these rocky trails was pretty solid, actually. My only complaint is that my fellow hikers failed to see the sign posted at the bottom of the mountain — dogs on leashes, please. I grew up with four canines, and am definitely a dog-lover, but… your doberman need not sniff around me while I’m trying to battle high altitudes, cold weather, and my own … ahem… out-of-shape-ness. Please, I’ve been bitten before, and I think other hikers would agree with my sentiments. Courtesy, people. I will definitely return upon my next visit to MA, as this mountain was the highlight of my trip. The scenery is obviously the biggest plus. Fresh air and friendly skies will always make me a fan.

Small quick hike to the top for best view all around in central mass, u have your choice of rocky straight up the mountain or around the mountain for a longer one

It’s certainly not the biggest mountain ever or the most impressive but the trails for hiking are nice and it’s definitely a picturesque place to view the state of Massachusetts. You can actually see the Boston skyline from the top. It’s been a while since I hiked up but it doesn’t take very long and it’s an easy walk up– easy for families as well. You can drive up as well but it’s worth walking in the woods I think.
