You know that incredibly condescending attitude that some people in Princeton have? Imagine that, all bundled together in one incredibly dense ball — that’s the experience in calling Princeton Eye Group for an appointment. Sorry guys.

Had the LASIK procedure with Dr. Michael Wong. Very professional from the get-​go, and patient when I was weighing the options and ambivalent about the cost
Procedure itself was very quick and they were very reassuring during the whole process. I also appreciated the follow up and post op appointments, to ensure that the surgery was a complete success.

Dr. Kuchar was AMAZING! I highly recommend seeing her if you have cataracts. She is so personal and comforting. Her work is phenomenal! I had a cataract for 33 years. It was congenital. I was scared to get it removed. She was wonderful!!!

I’m sitting in the office right now. Have been waiting for 55 minutes. I am here on time at 3:45 for my 3:45 appointment but the office let the 4:15 person get in before me because he/​she arrived earlier. But I am ON TIME! And being punished by being on time is very unfair! When I asked the front desk the receptionist pulled the sign up clip board from my hand and said I should not look. I had to sign when I arrived and all the information including appointment time and doctors name were there. That was how I know I was being punished by being on time.
I should even minus the one star because my appointment was actually yesterday. I even called to confirm yesterday morning and the person on the phone confirmed the date and time was correct. Thus when I arrived on time yesterday they let me wait 15 minutes and told me my appointment was today! I had to went through many troubles to get here but I had to do it twice because of their mistakes! Now I am still waiting more than one hout

Don’t come here, thinking its convenient. To me, convenience is making one trip, without being weirded out by a creeper eye doctor who thinks nothing of abusing the trust of his patients.
To put it plainly, my experience was… odd. I went in for a recurring issue with my eyelid. I waited forever and a day in the waiting room (ok — not entirely unusual for any doc office). Then, I was taken in. The doctor, whose presence instantly made me uneasy, asked me a few questions. He then slid his chair up close to me — again, ok, not entirely unusual for an EYE doctor. But, he wasn’t examining my eyes at all, at that point. He was simply holding my hands. Eventually, he did look at my eyes, but not very closely. So, after holding my hands, he asked if I knew why he did that, and I said… NO. ?? He said, well, that tells me that your nails are clean. He said that that was an indicator that the issue in my eye was not being caused by hygiene. (O_​O) Ok, thanks, I do shower daily. He then walked me over to a mirror to «educate me» on what goes on with my eyelids and eyelashes. Again, he stood far too close — you do not need to be breathing down my neck, to tell me that we all have mites and bacteria hiding on our eyelids and lashes. At that point, he could have easily stood off to the side to give me his little tutorial on what he learned from the Discovery channel.
The bottom line was, he basically told me I was fine. Sent me home with cream, and that was that. The lotion worked initially. Once the issue returned, I found a new doctor — who, invaded my space only to examine my eyes. He did not once slide his chair in between my legs. I never felt his breath on my neck or face (not even when he examined my eyes through those intense magnifying lenses)… and it doesn’t seem like he gave the hand-​holding thing a fraction of a thought. The knowledge he gave me about what was likely going on, went beyond your basic knowledge of freaky things that live in our eyelashes. Needless to say, the new doctor diagnosed and prescribed medication for my issue. I’ve had no trouble since.

I wish I could give the front desk service no star. I called for my 10 year old boy’s eye injury early morning before went there. The appointment was scheduled at 11:30 am. Nobody told me there would be at least an hour delay until I asked when it’s way passed the appointment time. Not even an apology?! If you really want to give a try I will highly recommend that you have a whole day available.

The doctors here are great but the staff at the front desk are not the best at customer service. Also every time I go here it usually takes much longer than I would expect. Often they are running behind schedule and I don’t end up being seen until long after my scheduled appointment time. If the doctors here weren’t so great I would have left long ago.

I was cheated.
I asked if the appointment was covered by my insurance and they confirmed that it was. I then received a huge «balance billing» for over $ 100 for a simple exam (not contacts). They said it was my responsibility to know how much they were going to charge me above and beyond the insurance. I called later and asked for an explanation and relief, and they simply said it wasn’t their problem.

I called to make an appointment for the first time and the hostile woman I spoke with had terrible customer service skills. I had so much difficutly just scheduling an appointment that I decided I’d rather go elsewhere!

My mother and I have been seeing Dr. Epstein at the Princeton Eye Group for a few years now and we really appreciate his patience and brilliance in every single one of our visits. Dr. Epstein makes sure to explain things thoroughly, and always follows up after his appointments.
Recently, my mother had cataract eye surgery done on both eyes by Dr. Epstein. The surgery went very smoothly, and Dr. Epstein personally called the day after the surgery to see if she had any questions and how she was doing. He always makes us feel very comfortable during check ups and procedures, and does an amazing job at explaining information.
I highly recommend seeing Dr. Epstein. Not only is he an extremely talented opthamologist, but he is also a kind person who truly cares about his patients.

I am shocked by some of the previous reviews. I had Lasik six years ago and the work is still holding strong. They are very professional, well trained and the office uses all the latest technology.
Dr. Reynolds is not only talented, but he is also very kind and patient. I have been to many eye doctors in the area and I would endorse Dr. Reynolds with no hesitation.

With a little flexibility, scheduling an appointment was simple. Upon arrival, the staff was helpful, collected all of my information, and verified my insurance co-​pay. Despite being a busy morning, I was seen quickly. Unlike other doctors who rush you out the door, the doctor took a lot of time and care with my vision test, and then asked if I had any questions or lingering issues. During the exam and after, I felt confident that I was working with the best.

This was the most horrible experience ever. The place is antiquated and not clean. I was so grossed out. The Dr. came in and never introduced himself — he seemed aggravated to be at work. I asked questions and he all but rolled his eyes at me. I will never go back.

Similar to the other reviewers, I am giving one star because zero, unfortunately, is not an option.
The reception/​administrative staff here is rude, uncooperative, and condescending. It is far beyond me how these people are hired, let alone kept on staff. They refuse to ask questions or take responsibility for their own mistakes.
I would highly recommend going anywhere but here for your eye care.

First of all, I’m not actually a patient of this medical group. After calling dozens of medical offices for information about allergy testing for a particular drug I’ve been planning to use, I was referred to Dr. Reynold’s office. Soon after calling, I received a call PERSONALLY from Dr. Reynolds. Apparently, he was concerned enough about my issue with the drug to give me the information I needed and gave me the opportunity to ask all questions. Dr. Reynolds’ kindness is very unusual, because he knew I did not need to become a patient. Office person was also very nice and she was very interested in hearing about my concerns with the drug. I don’t understand the other poster who stated negative things about the treatment by the office people. Bottom line: If you’re in Princeton or anywhere near this office, DO consider Dr. Reynolds, my family certainly would — he seems very nice, competent and obviously, not all about making money. 4 starts instead of 5 since I don’t actually know of any patients.

Dr. Wong did the surgery for cataracts (I was only 50 but had been extremely near-​sighted, which led to cataracts) and it was truly amazing. The operation was very quick and painless, and my vision is now about ²⁰⁄₆₀ (it was about ²⁰⁄₁₄₀₀) including being able to read without glasses. My mom’s 82 and Dr. Wong did her cataract surgery; her vision is even better than mine and she has been amazed at the distinct colors. Having had Coke-​bottle-​thick glasses or contacts all my life, it has been liberating. Dr. Wong was helpful and patient (with my mom, a big worrier), and the whole staff seems professional and knowledgeable.

I come to this eye group for two reasons: it’s convenient and their optical shop carries LaFont.
I was recently invited to a LaFont trunk show at the shop; all attendees were told that the frames and lenses were 20% off for the event. When I picked my frame, I was given the exact discounted price to bring to the Princeton Eye Group employee for sale. However, when she accessed my file I was told that because I have insurance, I was not entitled to the promotion.
Inequitable discounts for the uninsured vs. the insured? At most unethical, at least uncouthe. Very small behavior from a place I had previously assumed was reputable.
