The Princeton Senior Resource Center is a private non-​profit organization founded in 1974 to provide programs and services to promote healthy aging for Princeton area older adults (age 55+).

History

Established in 1974.

The Princeton Senior Resource Center was founded in 1974 by Jocelyn Helm and Karin Slaby to develop and provide programs to senior residents in public housing at Spruce Circle, using a grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. It expanded to serve all Princeton residents the following year, and was incorporated as a non-​profit organization in 1979. In 1994, PSRC was asked by Princeton Borough to assume responsibility for senior programs at the Suzanne Patterson Building. Jan Marmor succeeded Jocelyn Helm as Director in 1996, followed by Susan Hoskins in 2002. Also during 2002, the Suzanne Patterson Building underwent major renovation, reopening in April 2003 with new office and classroom space enabling the expansion of programs and services. In 2006, PSRC received a Princeton Community Spirit Award in recognition of its services to our diverse community of older adults. Evergreen Forum was founded in 2001.
