Princeton Audi

I have had my Audi serviced at this dealership exclusively for the last 3 years, each time hoping for improvement that never came. The people in the office are generally nice, the amenities are nice — coffee, soda in the waiting room, etc. However, the overall service was still terrible. On one occassion they promised me for over an hour that my car would be ready in a few minutes, only to find out that they service person had taken my key home with him for the night. We then had to trudge all around the lot trying to find my car. They had no clue where it was. Only way I got it home was that I happened to have the emergency key. Another time I took it because the passenger door would only unlock some of the time. They tried it once and when they couldnt reproduce it, rather than just saying that, they charged me $ 100 for the visit and gave me a lesson on how to use the key fob, as if I was an idiot! I guess they thought we’d been climbing through the sunroof for the past 3 years. On yet another occassion they broke something that was fine when I brought the car there (the driver’s side button panel) and thought they were going to charge me to fix it! The service person actually said, oh you’re lucky its included in the deductible. On yet another occassion they tried to sell me cheap replacement tires. When I looked up the details on the tires they were going to give me a ‘deal’ on they were lousy tires and completely overpriced. This dealership is close to home and they almost always have loaners but I just can’t take the terrible service any more.

Finally was out of warranty and able to take my car to a different garage. Turns out my car, a 2010, is burning a quart of oil every 500 MILES! The garage says its a known defect with the PISTONS which is covered by a class action lawsuit and directed me to take the car back to Princeton Audi. According to them they have sent several customers back there and Audi did the necessary repair without charge.
My fiancé called Audi, explained the situation in detail and made the appointment for Monday morning at 8:30. They agreed to have a loaner available.
I show up Monday morning with the vehicle and they have NO RECORD of the appointment! I had to waste my time coming there when either a) no one recorded our appointment or b) our appointment was deliberately deleted. But that was only the beginning.
The service rep then looks up my car and says they couldn’t do the work anyway because I once told them the car was buring a lot of oil, they did some work, (which CLEARLY didn’t fix the problem), and long story short, somehow that gave them an escape clause from the class action lawsuit.
Bottom line: Horrible Service and now an almost WORTHLESS 6 year old 2010 Audi A4 that needs major engine work.
I don’t think I would EVER buy another Audi.

I have purchased 4 new Audi’s in 11 years for me and my wife, so obviously we have been loyal customers. Tonight I experienced an interaction with one of their service dept reps that was just horrendous. She was rude, confrontational and belligerent to an unbelievable degree. I guess Audi just doesn’t want to sell cars.
This is on top of a really bad experience receiving two new cars (A6 and S4) two years ago. The prep on the cars had numerous mistakes, and the information given to us with the cars was incomplete in the most important areas. As modern cars get closer and closer to computers on wheels, the Princeton Audi sales staff become progressively more clueless. Go somewhere else. Or maybe, given the recent cheating revelations re VW/Audi’s diesels, consider a more honest car company. «Audi– Truth in Engineering.» Yeah, right.

I must say that I love my Audi and it’s unfortunate that I can’t get good service from Audi in central NJ. .
I brought my car in for several problems including an oil change, back light out, phone sync problems, etc.
Princeton Audi could only change the oil and could not fix the light or phone. The bigger issue is the problem I had a month later. Audi has a well documented design flaw where the drains are easily clogged — leading to major problems.
Unfortunately, the «service department» isn’t proactive and didn’t check the drains — resulting in $ 4000 in repairs and potential future electrical problems. The service dept said they weren’t aware of the problem even though it only took me a few minutes on the Internet to find/​confirm this is an ongoing problem.
A complaint to corporate Audi USA only resulted in a 10% coupon and an apology. Unfortunately, the corporate office doesn’t seem to have confidence in dealer repairs either. I also feel that you see a company’s true colors on how they handle issues when something goes wrong. Princeton Audi and Audi corporate USA failed miserably at handling this documented problem
My experience with Flemington Audi was even worse when I had the electrical system repaired. I think this is regional as friends from PA have had a great experience with Audi dealers. It might be worth the extra drive.

Great experience at Princeton Audi buying an A4. Juno is excellent to work with, made the whole experience a pleasure instead of something to avoid.

I had a great experience with David k at this particular Audi. He was helpful and honest and the lease I wanted and we got a good deal on an A3! The dealership is not huge but it’s a very nice staff. It was easy to get to and they got in a car color I wanted! Thanks Princeton Audi!

Beware! If you do not get another lease from here they sell your info to a third party «vehicle processing» company. I receive daily calls from them and have told them numerous times TO NOT CALL. I am already in another lease (from a different Audi) and the calls DO NOT STOP!
Information regarding a lease should not be sold to anyone! Pretty sure this is illegal!

Recently purchased a new Q5 from Princeton Audi and couldn’t be happier. Dealing with the sales and office staff renews my faith that there are professionals still in this business. My wife and I had visited several Audi dealers in New Jersey and knew what we wanted. Of all the dealers visited this was by far the most accommodating, professional and friendly experience we had. As I said we couldn’t be happier. Great car from a great dealership.

Got my certified 07 rdx from these guys… great service and care. Car was well detailed before I arrived. I just wish I could have gotten a lower price so I didn’t have to come out of pocket! Other than that I would recommend!

Was not pleased with the people that work there, some now all were very unprofessional. I was sitting waiting for my paper work while a lady behind me was talking so much nonsense with her fellow coworker. About money! And status. Plus judging people. I despise people that judge cause of an appearance. I think her name was chelsea. So sad. but at the end of the day I’m very happy with my Audi. All that matters to me.

This is a review of the service department. I have a certified pre-​owned Audi A-​3 and had all of my repairs done through this dealership for the past 5 years. For the last service I decided to go to a repair shop that was closer to home. Following the service I experienced bucking and extreme variations in the the tachometer at random times. The other repair shop looked at it, couldn’t id the problem and told me that «It is no big deal because the check engine light isn’t staying on». Mind you, I explained that this is a safety issue. This bucked on the NJ turnpike once and almost caused an accident.
Disgusted with that response; I went back to Princeton Audi and couldn’t be happier. They had a difficult time diagnosing the problem but instead of sending my car home they drove it multiple times hoping to experience the problem (to help diagnose). After a few days of the car not acting up they offered to fix a valve that looked to be the possible mis-​fire. After the valve was fixed they took the car for a test drive and the silly car did it’s bucking on the mechanic. Luckily, the check engine light flashed on for a moment (as in the past) but they were able to get the car on the computer quick enough to id the problem as a faulty air intake valve (I guess that usually when they go, they go completely…). Anyway, I couldn’t be happier with this group of mechanics. I also have to kick myself for trying somewhere else. This group is top notch and the few extra miles to drive there for services and repairs is WELL WORTH IT. I highly recommend their talented repair mechanics!!!

My daughters and I came to Princeton Audi to look at the 2015 A4, where we were greeted by Alex Demsky. We have been looking for a new car to lease for several months and dealt with many car dealerships and salesmen. It quickly became apparent that Alex is the most professional, honest, and easy-​going salesperson we have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. He answered all my questions, some being the same asked many different ways, and still kept is smile and his professionalism in answering each and every one making sure I understood all about the A4 and my purchase. Many people dread going to a car dealership to purchase or lease a vehicle, but the service we received by Alex and the rest of the team like James, Rich, and General manager Dave was second to none! They made us feel at ease and were reassuring that they would do anything to make the best deal work for me, and they did. Princeton Audi was not only the cleanest dealership we had been to, but each step we took in our purchase was pleasant and comfortable. The General sales manager Dave Dargenio went out of his way to make sure that the sales manager Rich Martini took care of us like his own family and that he did. He had us work with Alex Dempsky who in my eyes was the best car salesmen I ever dealt with in my 28 years of car buying. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable Alex went over all of the car’s amazing features, he was very patient and courteous. During the purchase of the car the transaction was smooth and quick without absolutely any pressure in the process. Princeton Audi, after being to 3 different Audi’s was by far the best and very competitive price for the vehicle. Alex made the whole process so simple and easy! Princeton Audi took care of all the insurance paperwork for us. On the day of pickup, the car was waiting for us! (With an amazing wash and detail! And a full tank of gas). We were given an introduction to the car, and were provided a detailed overview about all the features. We couldn’t be happier with both the car and the five star services we received by Alex and the whole team Princeton Audi! For a 30,000 mile service, this dealer did everything expected of a luxury car dealership. Katie Johnson, my service advisor, was quiet and efficient. My car was ready at the time promised. The courtesy vehicle was awesome.

Lou Ann Furch — what can I say other than she completes me. OK — maybe not completes me but she certainly left me feeling very appreciated as a customer! I just purchased an A6 and I particularly liked not having to haggle like my life depended on it. We went in, pointed at the car we liked and Lou Ann helped to make it happen at a price that worked for me.
She was pleasant, informative and her ultimate goal was to make certain that we walked away from the sale feeling good. I feel so good that I will probably replace another car I have with a Q7 and should I do that — Lou Ann and Princeton Audi will be the route I take.
Her follow up was excellent, she didn’t have the typical, irritating car salesman pitch and it just felt that she was trying to make sure that we walked away happy. She was knew what she was talking about with different models, how to use the navigation systems, etc. and in general was a pleasure to deal with.

NEVER in my life have I ever owned a luxury car, let alone an audi. I don’t think I was ever treated so nice from a car dealership. GUY my salesman treated me like his daughter! very informative, down to earth and making sure he explained every single detail of this car. I am a customer for LIFE with Princeton Audi. Love my A4. Even the finance manager was awesome. No games here and the ran around treating me like a celebrity. More than fair, I got a beautiful car and I cant stop smiling

Following my call to this Audi, conversation with husband (C=me, J=husband, D=dealer):
C: I hate car a**holes. I dont need to be treated like a moron because I have a specific requirement and asked a specific question.
J: Audi dealer?
C: Yes – this was the conversation
«C: Can you still factory order 2012 Avants?
D: Avants are no longer made. (a lie, they’re simply not sold in the US any longer)
C: I’d like you to contact me if someone trades in a 2012 Avant in silver, since instead of offering a TDI, Audi scrapped the Avant and for 2013 is offering a bigger car with worse mpg, which we are not interested in.
D:Oh, so you’re going to be specific about the colour?
C: Yes, we’d like silver, not black, white, or blue.
D: You care about the colour on a used car?
C: I don’t want a pink car & wouldn’t drive a blue or beige or pearl car, black & white look dirty quickly, so yes, colour does matter on a major purchase I have to look at and drive every single day.
D: What kind of package are you looking for?
C: We don’t care.
D: Premium, Prestige.
C: We don’t care.
D: It will affect the price.
C: I understand, but it will be a used car, so call us when you find one in silver.
D: Do you want navigation?
C: We don’t care.
D: it will affect the price.
C: We don’t care. Our only requirement is no rear side airbags.
There are the 5 types of airbags in the car.
C: I don’t need a description, just none.
D: Only 1 car in 50 will have that option.
C: 4 months ago you had 2 cars with it, and since they can’t be removed or disabled, put that on my list.
D: This is what a front airbag does.
C: Listen, I don’t care about the front airbags. I will have 2 children in rear facing car seats.
D: This is what a rear airbag does and most cars in this country don’t have them its an option.
C: Listen – I’m no moron, this is one of my requirements, and would you please just add it to the list?
D: We don’t buy used cars.
C: I understand that. Are you telling me that you want me to search elsewhere because you’re making this simple request so difficult? The guy we spoke to 4 months ago was nice, you don’t seem to want this sale…»
J: Hug. That is super lame. So if you’re buying new they love you, otherwise they’re asshats.
C: This guy even told me point blank that the 2013 was the same mileage & body as the 2012 – I corrected him based on info from

The reason it’s 2* instead of 1 is that we liked the other salesperson who was nice, thorough, and decent even to FEMALE buyers. Not sure what Dealer Guy’s problem was, but I have no desire to give them business if that’s their attitude.
Update: we ended up with a fantastic BMW 328i, sport package, which is a good thing. My SIL, a friend in Boston, & another in CA with Audis made between 2007-​12 have had major engine problems (translation: the problem is with the cylinders & the entire engine has to be removed to repair, aka repair starts at $ 7000); even the tow guy from Kovi warned me against Audi A series because he towed a LOT of them. It’s too bad, as we loved my husband’s 2001 Audi, which was a dream to drive until it met its demise in that cursed place called Newark.

I purchased a new Audi from this dealership in 2010. So far, my experience with sales and service has been very positive. The staff is well trained and professional. Also, I have had no problems with my A5 whatsoever, and it’s a terrific car.

Since I last posted I was contacted by Princeton Audi’s General Manager. He offered to help me fix my problems. Well I’m glad that he made the effort to make the situation better. I have since sold the car and have moved on. But like I said that he was trying to offer a gesture of good faith. And it was greatly appreciated. So while I can’t comment on there service any more. I do believe they are trying to make amends. So its up to you see what you thing about them.
