Description

Specialties

New bicycles for children and adults. Basic bikes for around town and towpath from about $ 300. Lightweight Racing bikes up to $ 30,000. We have something for almost anyone’s budget or need. We have some used bikes but they are more expensive than a garage sale because of our investment into them. Our goal is to make people happy and have fun doing it. Definitely the oldest bike shop in the USA and the oldest we have ever heard of anywhere, established as a full time bicycle shop in 1891. Repairs are done by mechanics that care about you and your bike.

History

Established in 1891.

Kopp’s Cycle was founded by E.C. Kopp in 1891 when the bicycle was the new alteritive to riding a horse. Fred Kuhn purchased the store form Mrs. Kopp in the late 40’s and it is now owned by his son Charles Kuhn.

Business Owner

Running Kopp’s is like being the caretaker of a living museum. I have worked there since I was little and enjoy the new technology as well as the history.
