Guy’s a flake. The store is a pigsty; almost«charmingly» disorganized. That can portend excellence in a strange way — for me, it only demonstrated the cluttered nest of a messy, unkempt owner whose store mirrored his own internal mentally muddled musings. I went in with a historically significant document to be custom framed. With it I brought another document that I had earlier framed at another shop and had hoped to match. Once he got beyond telling me how poorly the first one had been done by a competitor(I disagree), he took literally an hour rummaging through books and the like attempting to match the materials of the earlier work. If this was time spent in passionate discovery that’d be one thing; regrettably it was just the circling back and forth over and over again of the same materials — about ten minutes worth of output«framed» in an hours’ time. I left with no idea what it would cost, but with a promise that he’d call me back in a couple of days with a quote. No call. Regretting leaving the valuable document with him, I returned the following week under the auspices of gaining the quote and job completion time… nope. When I asked to get my document back, he had to start rummaging around his desk and the mountains of papers and the like, finally finding it «safely» stored under a bunch of(assumedly unfinished) quotes. Not exactly confidence inspriring. I again left with a promise of a follow up in a day or so from the owner, assuring me his work is top notch and I’d be happy with it as well as price. That was two weeks ago; guess who hasn’t called…
