A-1 Limousine

I would highly recommend A-​1 Limousine. I have used them for business trips for airport drop offs/​pick ups along with for my own wedding. I set up a limo for the bridal party and multiple cars for family members. I had to switch the cars around, (amount of cars and sizes of the vehicles), and A-​1 always worked with me and never gave me a problem.

I would give them minus stars if it were possible. I NEVER write reviews but feel compelled to on this one. The absolute worst. Have given them several chances to make up for issues and the continues to fail. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE A1

I have to say this is the worst company. Poor communication and customer service. You can only speak to one person Michelle and when you ask for someone else they tell you there is no one else and wont give you the number for the corporate people. Was charged for a no show when they were lazy in trying to locate the person. My elderly family member was never picked up and had to take a cab home. Not even an apology. I wished I would have read the other reviews, I see other people had the same experience. Never again!!!

It’s always frustrating to arrive from a long overseas flight only to discover everyone’s driver is there but yours. Happens more often than not with A1. However, many of the drivers themselves are very pleasant.

I have to give A-​1 Limo of Princeton 0 stars! I work for a large pharmaceutical company and we use limos and buses frequently from a number of services. But I’ve never had an experiece like the one I had recently with A-​1. I ordered a car from A-​1 for my manager to be picked up in NYC and taken home. The pick-​up time was 11pm, and I received the reservation confirmation to that effect. But the night they were to pick him up, they didn’t show up. They left him standing on the street for over an hour at night. And when he called to ask were the driver was he was told that his reservation was for the next night. He explained that it was for that night. They apologized, said they would send a car right away and they told him that they wouldn’t charge him for the ride. But when he received his credit card bill, he was charged the full rate. And when I called them, they at first said that the reservation was for the day after and so was not getting any discount. I had to forward the reservation confirmation as proof and only then did they admit the error, but still would not credit his card for the trip because they said that they did eventually pick him up, even if it was after midnight!
The person I spoke with was brusque and unapologetic. They were unconcerned that they left a passenger on the street for over an hour. And were more concerned that they got paid than for his safety. I just wondered if it had been my teenaged daughter, if they would have been so unconcerned about leaving her stranded.
I would not reccommend you use them at all. I would not trust them to show up.

A1 provided me both the best car service trip of my life and the worst (dangerous) car service trip of my life. Best doesn’t outweigh the worst, unfortunately.
(That being said, when they’re good, they’re VERY good)

Operations didn’t know how to have limo pick up curbside … Waited outside in cold … Driver didn’t have address loaded in GPS and had to pull over.

Terrible car service. Overpriced and awful customer service. When dealing with management over a cancelled ride, they charged the card and were unresponsive to multiple calls trying to resolve the issue. I will never ride with them again.

The worst car service I have ever used. Having been ill and released from the hospital I called A1 to bring me home. I had taken my wallet out and left it on the seat next to me as I drifted off to sleep. I inadvertently left it behind and when I called the next morning no one could provide me with information as to where it was. This was after I had paid $ 225 for a one way fare! The contents of my wallet (minus my money and the wallet itself) mysteriously arrived in the mail 5 days later. A1 is untrustworthy and unprofessional.

I’ve used A-​1 Limo dozens of times in the past several years, mostly to and from EWR or PHL, and never once had a driver late or a problem with my trip. I can’t think of any other service I use that is as reliable.

Used A1 for years multiple times a month for airport trips. Wow, have they gone downhill. I finally stopped about a year ago since I couldn’t take their late drivers, crappy customer service, and unwillingness to even discuss an issue. I tried again this week in the hopes things had changed. Nope. I’ve literally NEVER had a driver beat me out of the terminal for an international trip. I sit in business class, have Global Entry, and don’t check bags — and I’ve told them repeatedly that I’ll be fast from landing to terminal. I even called this time when I landed to give them a heads-​up. Sure enough… and I would have bet money… no driver. The kicker was that when I called, the dispatcher told me «I should consider myself lucky because they were backed up and other people were stuck at the airport». I think that pretty much says it all. You only have one job. Be at the airport when I get there. Period.

I’ve used their services for years, and have been pretty reliable. One of my friends had a driver leave her stranded at JFK, but I’ve never personally experienced that. Most of the cars are okay, though some aren’t the cleanest (still way better than a clean taxi!). If you use them, be very very VERY clear on wanting the total cost upfront. The rep I spoke to when booking my last trip didn’t mention the price at all, so I naively assumed it hadn’t changed since my previous trips; it was definitely my fault for not asking, but they really should say something. Not only had the rates gone up, but once they added in fees, mandatory gratuity ($ 30 each way), tolls, gas, etc, it was a lot more than the already high price – it ended up being $ 450 roundtrip for Philly airport, which could have bought me another plane ticket! If they’re going to tack on additional charges, they should just roll that into the rate and let customers know how much it is upfront.
I called to give feedback, but they weren’t interested.

I used A-​1 for a business trip that we rented a charter bus to go from East Windsor to Manhattan. The driver was friendly, knew what he was doing, and the entire trip was so absolutely enjoyable. Layla was great at sending me quotes and taking my payment information easily and seamlessly. She also called to check-​in the week of the reservation to make sure nothing changed. She knew all of the answers to my questions and was so nice.
Our driver, Steve M., was fantastic. He was fun, professional, on-​time and an overall great sport. We ended up paying the same price we were quoted and Steve even helped us clean up. We had a great experience and will be using them next year.

My husband and I have been customers of A1’s for well over a decade. We’ve used them for personal and corporate airport transfers, trips into the City, and for our wedding. They used to be fantastic. They used to feature reliable service and excellent customer support. Not any more.
In the last year or so, A1 has obviously decided they can charge far more than every other car service in the area while just complete ignoring the customer service side of the business. The last three times we have used them, they have either over charged, or charged extra fees. In December, United was a bit slow to get the baggage to the carousel, so A1, tacked on a $ 17 fee. It wasn’t our fault the bags were delayed, but we paid for it anyway. We’ve had cars show up late with no apologies from dispatch, etc.
The fees are completely outrageous now, as well. We were charged $ 170 for a one-​way trip in a sedan from Newark to Princeton.
Find another car service. You might get lucky and not have a problem, but if you do, A1 doesn’t care and doesn’t want to hear about it. This hasn’t been a one off problem, this has been a systematic issue for over a year. Avoid them.

We have been using A 1 limo for 20 years or so… last week took the red eye from Phoenix and when we landed in Philadelphia the driver was no where in sight… Called the princeton # 5 times… they connected me to dispatch and the lady gave me different excuses each time I called

The heat in limo wasn’t working.
When we got home I tried to lodge a complaint and no one was interested in listening… there apparently is no manager around and the supervisor at dispatch never returned my call…

I have been a customer for years. They drive me from Bucks county to Philadelphia airport and are always reliable, on time, helpful.
Its great to see that they have maintained this excellence for years and I don;t use car services frequently, but when I need to, I can call them and they continue to provide excellent service.
Prices are a little high, but I really think this is competitive. It is a high end service to have a nice, clean car to drive and pick up for specific flights and I appreciate being able to call them early or every once in a while, at the last minute!

I have been a patron of A-​1 Limousine since 1996 when I landed my first consulting job that required travel on my clients’ tabs. Despite the name, I ride almost exclusively in their sedans. They have been known from time to time to surprise me with a limo for the same cost, which of course gets my neighbors’ attention and makes me look all gangster. But unless I plan to booze it up in the back seat, a sedan is just fine.
Some of their cars show a little more wear and tear than others, but they are always clean and functional. I’ve also never had a bad driver with A-​1. When I lived in NYC, unable to use A-​1, I’d always fall victim to drivers who were falling asleep at the wheel after long shifts. That is the most awful, vulnerable feeling in the world, and I once had to call a driver out on it, demanding that I drive *THEM* to *MY* destination. That’s never happened with A-​1.
As with most firms like this, the drivers can be a bit chatty, but I generally don’t mind. In fact, today I had a nice gentleman named Gil take me to the airport and I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with him. A-​1 drivers are always courteous and professional.
A-​1 always arrives at the pick up location a few minutes early, which will give you a little added piece of mind if you’re like me and like to cut it close to your boarding time.
They also run your credit card in the office ahead of time, including tips, tolls and gratuity. You just get in the car, go, and get out. No swiping, no adding, and no signing. Your receipt will be e-​mailed to you. Always remember to get your price quote first and have them e-​mail you that too, so you don’t end up in a dispute later.
Thank god someone else generally foots the tab, because the only downside of A-​1 is that they are hella expensive. But they’re the best game in town.

What a total rip off! Quoted $ 120, charged $ 240!
I was in Princeton for business and these guys happened to be at the station, so I used them as a normal cab service to get to the office. It was a decent car and the driver was great, so I asked how much to drive me back to Manhattan at the end of the day. He quoted $ 120, which was cheaper than the company’s usual car service, so I took his number.
I called and booked him later on and he drove me and a colleague who lives three blocks away back to the city. When we arrived he wanted $ 240 — exactly twice what we had agreed. I had asked for a complete price, but he had charged $ 120 plus tolls, tax, a ‘second drop’ charge and then a 20% tip on the full price (including the tolls and tax!)
I have complained to the company since, and they simply didn’t care about my experience.

Used to take A1 all the time to the airport and trips to NYC when I lived in the Princeton area. Newer Cadillac fleet, always on time and courteous service.

The best car service in the Princeton/​Mercer County area.
One time, I was on my way to JFK to travel west for work (yes, JFK. I didn’t book the flight). Our car’s alternator died about 15 minutes from home. I was panicked — I was traveling with a group of about 30 people and rebooking my flight was going to be a huge hassle. I called my neighbor to help us out, and she said ‘get on the phone to A1 and tell them what’s up’.
I called them, explained what had happened, and they immediately dispatched a towncar to the location roadside where we were broken down. They stayed with my wife and I until the tow showed up for our car, then whisked me off to JFK in time for my flight.
Since this, we have used A1 every single time we need to travel as a family to PHL or EWR. No, they might not be the cheapest — but they’re the best, hands-​down. The drivers are reliable, friendly and flexible. When they pick you up at the airport, they’re waiting outside of baggage claim holding a sign with your name on it. They have always provided a child safety seat for our daughter when we request it, at no extra charge. The last time we were picked up at the airport, we were given a complimentary upgrade from a towncar to limousine.
Can’t say enough good things about them. If you need a car with driver in Mercer County, stop looking and call A1.
