Otolaryngology is the area of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders affecting the head and neck region.
Dr. Gail Anderson founded Chesapeake Otolaryngology Associates LLC in 2001, opening her first office in Bowie, Maryland. She opened her second office in 2004 in Southern Maryland to serve both the Calvert and Prince George’s counties and communities.
Dr. Anderson is on the cutting edge of new techniques in sinus surgery including minimally invasive, in-office sinus surgery and balloon sinuplasty. Dr. Anderson was one of the first surgeons in the country to begin performing the balloon sinuplasty procedure. She also utilizes coblation (radiofrequency technology) for tonsillectomies and adenoidectomies.

Gail Anderson MD, FACS A.
Business Owner
Dr. Gail Anderson is board certified in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She grew up in Anne Arundel County and received her Bachelor’s Degree from The Johns Hopkins University. She then received her Master’s Degree in Pathology from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. She worked as a physician’s assistant for several years at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan before attending medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. After receiving her MD from Wayne State, Dr. Anderson completed a five year residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Pennsylvania. She founded Chesapeake Otolaryngology Associates LLC in 2001. She presently serves as the Chief of Surgery of the Dimensions Surgery Center. Dr. Anderson was one of the first doctors in the country to perform the Balloon Sinuplasty Procedure and attends annual conferences to stay up-to-date with procedures and techniques.
