David M. Shapiro, a former prosecutor, grew up in Santa Monica, California. He was, for fifteen years, a classically-​trained stage actor who has performed on stages all over the United States. He is a graduate of Southwestern University School of Law, and was in the first echelon of Southwestern Law’s prestigious Trial Advocacy Honors Team. He is admitted to the practice of criminal defense in Arizona and California.

Mr. Shapiro knows what it means to work for a wage and he understands the issues that arise in the lives of hard-​working people, artists, and white-​collar folk alike. He has successfully defended clients of all racial, ethnic, and political backgrounds, however, he will not represent people accused of crimes involving the hatred of people because of their skin color, ethnicity, religious background or beliefs, or gender preference.

Before becoming an actor, he engaged in his mother’s family’s traditional life-​style; he was a cowpuncher who worked on many of the largest ranches in the United States. An expert horseman, before attending law school, he was a Wild West Show performer in Europe. Though the life of a criminal defense attorney leaves little time for extended recreation, having grown up in Southern California, David surfs when on the coast, plays tennis and is an avid golfer.
