We have been performing automotive repair in the Lincolnshire and Buffalo Grove area since 1978. We have maintained a constant 99% satisfaction rate during all of that time. Established in 1978.

After some years as a dealer technician, service writer, service manager, and service director, I felt that I could serve the customers better on my own. I have been meeting that goal now for over 30 years.

Service was great and fast!
Had a smoking engine and got it fixed the next morning. I was impressed and for the first time felt like I can trust someone with my car, after going through 2 different shops that did not end before this one. Walking distance from home too so SUPER convinient. Reasonable price also!

I’ve been a customer of Lamb’s Auto for many years, but recently they outdid themselves. I took my car in because of the «check engine» light. I told them I just wanted a diagnostic so that I could determine whether a repair made sense or if I should just trade it in on a new car. They kept the car for several days (I used a loaner car they provided). They were tenacious in figuring out my car’s quirky issues. Finally, they came back with a repair estimate that I could afford. I went ahead with the work and the car is running better than it has in years.
Don’t be intimidated by the post-​apocalyptic-​looking state of the garage. These guys are very knowledgeable. They know cars.

I have driven past Lamb’s for over 25 years, but never had stopped in. I was having trouble with the check engine light. They did a thorough diagnostic and suspected the valves. They cleaned the valves and the engine is running great.
— They took pictures of the valves before and after without me asking.
— They listened to me when I told them the things that i had checked.
— They answered all my questions.
— They wanted to make sure they did a good job.
— They did it for a fair price that I am very sure was less than a dealer.
— The garage is not pretty, but I remember a time when garages weren’t pretty and you trusted the guy who worked on your car.
Chuck and John are good guys that you can trust. I will be taking all of my cars there in the future.

Excellent mechanics — great customer service. I have taken all three of my cars there for the past 7 years! They value me as a customer and I wouldn’t take my vehicles any place else. The owner, John, is terrific and the service writer, Chuck, is a great guy. A wonderful value for everyone!

I went to Lambs for a second opinion on replaceing a water pump/​timing belt (dealer wanted 850.00), and replacing the air/​fuel sensors and reflashing the computer (dealer wanted 1000.00). Lamb’s did the water pump and timing belt for 500.00, and informed me that there was a service bulletin regarding the air/​fuel sensors which indicates an 8 year warranty, Chuck at Lamb’s advised me to go back to the dealer. Upon me informing the dealer of the service bulletin, the dealer agreed to fix the sensors, no charge. Chuck at Lambs not only did quality work, on time, he saved me 1300.00. Lambs has my business.

Just moved to the state last year and figured I would try since located next to train station. Price was reasonable to replace transmission cable and mechanic correctly diagnosed the problem. Chuck truly hates his job as evident in his poor attitude, refusal to make eye contact and non verbal communication. He practically threw the repair bill at me. Recommend Auto-​Fix in Palatine as same honest work but atleast their customer care representative talked to me about the Bears.

Was up in the area and got a quote for some work that later cost half the price at my local shop, on top of that they were not very polite or friendly! Would not recommend this place, unless you have lots of cash to burn.

When is the last time your auto mechanic sent you a refund check for double billing a part? A few weeks after I had my car serviced here, I got a check in the mail. These guys are honest and very good mechanics.
