Never open and now shut down for good. Also asked for small cupcakes for a large grad party and was just told «No, sorry.». Yeah, not surprised they are closed for good, they clearly weren’t customer service oriented.

I love pink moon cupcakes! I have been here. A handful of times and every-​time is always the same! The cake part of the cupcake is moist and the icing is creamy!
I bought a couple the last time I was in and I didn’t get to eat them until several days after. I still thought they were good and the cake wasn’t dry– BUT they are the best on the day they were purchased.
My only complaint– I wish they had more choices to pick from!

Absolutely delicious! I have been here several times and always have a good experience. Their cupcakes are delicious, I have never seen an employee act rude or anything less than very helpful and friendly.
Once you enter, there are some candies or cupcakes or something you can buy? I don’t know, I don’t think I have ever bought things there, that part confuses me. I usually just skip it and head to the left for my delicious cupcake!
Definitely delicious, and not too expensive for the big cupcakes you get! Definitely recommend this place.

I love Pink Moon! The Buckeye cupcake is my absolute favorite. I just wish they baked cakes too.

Love this place! We live almost an hour away, but when we go to the zoo, we stop in and get cupcakes! I like simple, so the vanilla vanilla is my favorite. I have tried many varieties, and haven’t had one that wasn’t delicious.

These cupcakes are the best of the best! They are always moist and made fresh. They always have a lot of variety to choose from as well.

I recently moved to Powell and despite generally trying to avoid sugar these days, I was downtown for the festival and decided to stop in, support a local business, blow my diet to shit, et cetera.
I don’t really get some of the negative reviews on here. I liked all three cupcakes that I got (strawberry, german chocolate and red velvet.) Out of the three, I was surprised that I liked red velvet the least. The icing wasn’t quite the buttercream I expected. I thought all three cakes were really flavorful, although two were just a teeny bit on the dry side. They all come with a mountain of artfully applied icing, so eating them gracefully is almost impossible. The cupcakes all looked beautiful. The store has a few tables to sit down at, and is located inside a cutely decorated older house near the railroad tracks downtown. There is a nice selection of cupcakes, and other assorted sweets I didn’t look at too closely.
I was not super crazy about the service I got. The girl who waited on me wasn’t rude, but was not very interested either, and basically just wanted to take my order and be done. I would have stayed around and asked a few questions, but I got a hurry along now vibe. To contrast, at Beehive Bakery down the street they are very welcoming, always have samples and a loyalty card. I don’t think anyone NEEDS a loyalty card for cupcakes, mind you.
The price was ~$ 3 per cupcake, I think they were discounted for the festival.

Sorry, I was very disappointed. The cupcakes looked beautiful, and I loved the fancy box. But they were not as tasty as many others I’ve had. The chocolate cupcakes didn’t even taste like Chocolate. I bought 6, we ate 4 (family of 5) and tossed the other two in the trash. Wish I could have written a better review.

I liked it! The hours may be extremely tight, but they were able to deliver a chocolate/​vanilla assortment (36 total) for my son’s birthday at school in less than a day.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try them, but I heard nothing but good reviews from the kids… and I plan on stopping by and picking up… a few to try for myself.

The store itself was confusing. It’s like a weird mix between a candy store, gift shop and cupcake place. The packaging was also a little strange, all the cupcakes were wrapped in tissue before being placed in the box which ruined the presentation. I tried the chocolate with white frosting, honestly because there were only like three flavors to choose from. The frosting has to be kept at a specific temp which is posted in their store, which makes me wonder what they make their frosting with. The cake itself tasted okay, but the frosting was a weird consistency.

When I want a little treat — something special, or maybe a small gift for a friend … I head straight to Pink Moon Cupcake Bakery in downtown Powell (cracks me up to say «downtown»).
Without a DOUBT — Pink Moon has the most delicious and creative cupcakes around. You need to get there early in the day or some of your favorite flavors will be gone. I am a huge fan of the Red Velvet and the Devils Food w Vanilla Icing.
I feel super fortunate to have such a lovely little local place with such fun treats.

I wish I could give Pink Moon 3 ½ stars. It’s not a solid 4 but it’s better than a 3, but if I had to choose between 3 and 4 stars — which I did — I must go with 3.
While visiting from a cupcake Mecca (seriously, my city has the best cupcake bakeries ever) I was taken here by a Pinkmoon lover, who raved about them. We got a variety of flavors.
My German Chocolate cupcake was a definite «okay» on a scale of «crappy» to «amazing». The cake was a little bland, needed more cocoa.
The snickerdoodle was a big nope, I didn’t like that one at all. It was under baked and the middle was still damp (this was not a filling or anything, it was under baked), but I didn’t really like the flavor so the under baked status is moot.
I felt compelled to get a vanilla on vanilla cupcake (it’s important to judge a place on how well they do the basics), and strangely it was my favorite. The frosting was a bit oily, and I prefer a fluffier frosting, but it was still good.
If you get a buckeye cupcake make sure to take it out of the box of the other cupcakes you get or all of your cupcakes will have a weird, gaseous peanut butter flavor. It’s not pleasant.
These cupcakes aren’t cheap, but they’re pretty standard in price for a «cupcakery».

Honestly not a fan. The icing is pretty waxy and the cup cakes taste like a box mix. I have tried on two different occasions but just not what I consider a scratch bakery cupcake and they are $ 3 a cake. Place itself is cute and a great location. If you do stop in I felt their buckeye cup cake was their best. Now kokos in Gahanna… that’s a bakery cupcake!

Pink moon was ahead of the game when it came to opening a cupcakery. Going to pink moon is kinda fun even though your experience shouldn’t take longer than ten minutes– it is in a cute little building and they have other sweet treats as well. I really enjoy their cupcakes– but this place caters to people who like icing and they even offer icing shots– for those of us who LOVE icing. The downtown area surrounding pink moon is a lot of fun too but this is the highlight of quick trips up to powell.

I have been to Pink Moon at least ½ dozen times. However, 2 visits have been recent and are the primary drivers of my four star rating.
First, I want to talk about the product, cupcakes. The actual cake part is five star worthy. I have had 4 different cupcakes in 2 visits and the cake is in the top 3 best in Columbus (and I eat a lot of cake). The icing, however is worthy of three stars. Although extremely flavorful, some icing flavors are so sweet that my teeth actually hurt after eating them. To be fair, others, such as the vanilla icing, are tolerable. It all depends on what you order.
As for service, I’m split there as well. The lady with whom I spoke on the phone and who assisted me in person on ¹⁄₁₁ was phenomenal. She was pleasant and helpful. Five stars for her!!! Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name. The service my husband and I received back on ¹¹⁄₁₀ was not so great. We walked into Pink Moon for an afternoon snack. The greeting from the woman and man working was less than luke warm. Then in my excitement to order, I spun around hitting the coffee in my husband’s hand causing it to spill all over his jacket. Neither employee offered him a napkin. He removed his jacket and stepped outside upset with me for being clumsy and them for being less than customer centric.
The store front is cute and has 4 – 5 little tables at which to eat the cupcakes if you choose. Like the rest of Powell, parking is available but not always close or convenient. There are no beverage options. I have no issue with the hours of operation as I rarely go to Powell. The times I’ve wanted Pink Moon they have been open.

I was driving through the area and noticed this quaint little cupcake shop. An avid cupcake fan, I had to stop in and try it out! The place was very cute, decked out with homemade candy and old school candy. Cupcakes are in the covered glass cupcake stands. I tried the dark chocolate coconut and it was THE best cupcake I’ve ever had. Cake was so moist it crumbled and I had to eat it with a fork. The icing was rich but not too sweet, perfectly flavored and had a great whipped texture. Icing to cake ratio was perfect!

The best cupcake shop in town. They even sell frosting shots! Can it get any better? My only complaint is that it’s in Powell, where I rarely go (I’m in Hilliard).

An eerie fog drifts in the quaint and simple town of Powell as fall chills intrude in like an unwanted guest. The darkened sky littered by light pollution is lit up by the simple round figure of a Pink Moon, which shines it’s nightly rays on a small brick Victorian house near the railroad tracks. From crosswalks slither beings not from this world sporting North Face jackets as they climb out from their overpriced automobiles. They drag their limbs slowly while drool and other bodily juices (possibly blood) gush from the sides of their mouths.
Their eyes are glossed over like some poor victim of a Devil’s rejected voodoo curse brought on by the vast amounts of butter and sugar previously ingested at the Victorian brick house. Their arms are outstretched only pointed towards the doors of the brick Victorian home as they awkwardly stumbled closer and closer. Their children in torn princess tutus and bad plaid shirts and khaki pants growl ferociously like beasts from an ungodly world. Their faces sticky from previous indulgences of sweets (possibly blood).
Finally, one of the Yuppi. I mean, Zombies reaches the door to notice a sign… ‘Business Hours 11am to 5pm.’
«Cupcakes.» It groans loudly as it begins tearing at it’s North face jacket while it’s beast children beat their filthy sugar stained hands on the glass doors hoping for glimmer of admittance. They slowly creep back into their overpriced automobiles and drive off into the foggy and frigid night and back into their half million dollar dwellings of their own created suburbia.

Back in the warmth of my bed as I watch the pink moon grow in the midnight sky as autumn leaves rattle like bare bones in a tree.
«I mean, that’s all good story and stuff.» My husband said… «But did you like the cupcakes?»
I replied… «Noooooo…»

Dang! When you lick the paper that they wrap the cupcakes in like a starving animal then you know this is some kind of goodness here! Finally after having driven past it for a long time I made hubs pull in on the spur of the moment to see what was what.
All that sweet stuff in there! More malt ball flavors than either of us have ever seen! Old timey candy like pixie sticks and GASP the dots on the strip of paper and Turkish Taffy — swoon! We got there just withing half hour of closing and each chose one. I got the vanilla bean vanilla and hubs got the chocolate chocolate.
Oh good googly moogly! Hubs prefers his frosting to be a bit firmer but other than that grab yourself a mug of milk and get happy! Starting next week they will be changing flavors for the new season — read Red Velvet and Pumpkin.
Oh yum!

Soooo close! First off, we LOVE that they keep the cupcakes under cake stands so there is no chance of the icing crusting up and the cake drying out. Finally someone catches on. We got 2 buckeye cupcakes, 1 vanilla, 1 chocolate, 1 snickerdoodle and 1 pumpkin for $ 16. I asked before we got it what kind of icing it was because *HATE* whipped icing. She said it was buttercream. We took our buckeye cupcakes out and ate them across the street by the little pond and they were EXCELLENT. The chocolate portion of the cupcake wasn’t very chocolatey which was kind of disappointing but the peanut butter icing was very rich and sweet. (Dang, where’s the milk when you need it?)
When we got home, we split the others to taste. Sigh… whipped. WHIPPED! I get it, homemade buttercream whips up, I make it at home for the hubby since he likes that crap but TELL PEOPLE THAT if they specifically ask about your frosting ahead of time! So all of the cupcakes tasted wimpy frosting wise but the cupcake portion was incredibly moist and flavorful which is why I say «sooo close.» (To perfection) So if you like a whipped not very sweet icing on your cupcakes, you will LOVE this place. If you like sweet dense buttercream the way nature intended, not so much except for the buckeye one that is a little more dense icing wise. We will be back for a buckeye cupcake but we’ll sling a holster of milk with us for that one. Rich and yummy.
