The love of my life. The sesame chicken is better than any sesame chicken I have ever had. My friend and I make trips from OSU just to eat here. I’ve considered getting married here. I’ve considered naming my child Lins wok. EATHERE.

I’m so picky about my Chinese food and this is by far one of my favorites ! It’s a small hole in the wall in a strip mall in Powell but it’s FANTASTIC ! I used to come here for lunch in high school and I’ve been coming back for the past 8 years. Quality and service has never changed and the owners are so kind ! Please give this place a try :)

They have some of the best fried rice in Powell! The chicken is cooked wonderfully and the Hunan beef was tender and delicious. Keep up the great work!

I had pulled up Unilocal to try and find a good Chinese place in Powell and after reading the reviews, I was super excited to try Lin’s Wok. Most of the time when you pick up food to take home, the smell fills your car and your mouth starts to water. The only thing I smelled on the way home was grease. I got home and the fried rice was dry and the orange chicken was greasy and lacking flavor. I’ve had better food in microwave meals. It was such a disappointment and I’ll never eat here again.

I usually steer away from Chinese. It just tastes too salty, unnaturally seasoned and gives you the feeling of being too full. This place however was our families choice based on the good reviews. I’m glad we tried it and we will be back. The fried rice is actually not seasoned with soy sauce. It is sticky and full of fresh egg. I got the rainbow shrimp which was in a light white sauce. Nothing fried… the veggies were so crisp and fresh. The king po chicken was not too spicy. We all got the lunch portions for dinner and it is plenty for an average adult! The spring roll was crispy and flavorful. The wonton is made with a rich chicken stock not a watery broth. Nice thick wontons. The fortune cookies, both regular and chocolate are stale. So that was a bummer. Service is very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is blank and stark. So carry out would be a nice option but we didn’t mind much.

This place is delicious, and has the best service. They’ve been around for twenty years now, and I can see why! I love the General Tso’s chicken.

There are times in life when you come across a meal so expertly crafted… Frankly, this is quite the opposite of one of those meals. Walking in, I was unmoved by the humble seating area and front counter. The lady that helped me was very pleasant and patient as I perused the menu. I’d never been here before, so I defaulted to sweet & sour chicken with steamed rice. Unfortunately everything was just… off. The rice was perfectly sticky, but had a different quality to it than I expected, as if it had been microwaved, for example, although I’m sure that wasn’t the case here. I just can’t put my finger on it. The sweet and sour sauce had a great taste and it wasn’t too thick or thin. The chicken, however, was especially greasy. As for the texture, it almost felt processed, but that could just be the quality of the meat. Lastly, I received both regular and a chocolate fortune cookie. Both were stale. I wish I could give this local business a better rating, but the food was overall not palatable. I could not finish my meal. Despite the friendly service, I shall not be returning here anytime soon.

I’ve lived in Powell for 14 years and always lamented on the lack of great convenient Chinese food. How did I not know about Lin’s Wok? It is truly a gem hidden in a small little strip mall north of downtown Powell. Why has this place been such a well kept secret? The food is simply AMAZING! Everything is fresh and perfectly prepared. Vegetables are crisp full of flavor; meat is always tender. Portions are generous and I love having the ability to order lunch portions at dinner! Check this place out you won’t be disappointed!

Great food, especially when you’re craving some good Chinese. All the food is prepared by one guy, and the family staff are incredibly friendly. Great portions, great taste, incredibly friendly staff. It’s a hole in the wall place that gives you a feeling of authenticity, friendliness, and the genuine. Great place, looking forward to going back again. Oh, and it’s very easy to walk or bike to from many places in Powell.

We frequently get Lins Wok as our go to Chinese take out. Small but very friendly and very tasty. Good value. We are looking forward to getting take out tonight to continue our Christmas Eve tradition!

Best Chinese food in Columbus area hands down. If you are looking for a hole in the wall place where the food is worth the drive, this is the place. They don’t Americanize the flavor like the rest of the chained restaurants. Lin’s wok is a hidden gem.

This is my new go to Chinese place. Tried this place a week or so ago. This is not your run of the mill Chinese place. Loved the General Tso’s chicken. The spring rolls were great. Home made sweet and sour sauce. The fried rice excellent. I look forward to exploring other items on the menu.

Some online maps show these guys at 240 Liberty St. in downtown Columbus. They are actually 18 miles north, at 240 Liberty in Powell, Ohio. While the food is certainly worth the 25 minute drive from Liberty Street in Columbus to Liberty Street in Powell, my guess is that would be small consolation to someone expecting to pick up their food in downtown Columbus. Bottom line: there is no Lin’s Wok in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This Unilocal listing is for the Lin’s Wok in Powell, Ohio with a zip code of 43065.

I’ve had great and very very bad Americanized Chinese food so I can tell the difference and this place is much better than it appears from the outside. It resides in the middle of a mostly empty strip mall and the décor inside is pretty much non-existent but the food is great. On the menu is all the standard dishes that you see in any other Chinese restaurant but they’re all very flavorful with tons of fresh veggies and quality meats. What makes it that much better is that it’s very inexpensive.

My family has been loyal to Lin’s Wok probably since it opened. Mary Lou answers the phone and knows our order! We always take out, as others have mentioned its small and not really designed to support and family of 6! But the service and food are amazing! If I had to recommend one menu item, the potstickers! Fried or steamed they are THEBEST dumplings I’ve ever had! And the sauce, well it’s so good I would literally drink it. As it is a family owned restaurant with one cook, everything can be made to order! Add mushrooms, no water chestnuts, extra onion– whatever you want! Definitely a must-try.

What do you do when you read the days ROTD first thing in the morning and you get an immediate, nagging craving that just won’t go away? Keep reading for the answer… So, I pulled up to the front of Lin’s early this afternoon and scoped the place out. It’s just like Tiffany C. said: Outdated mall with lots of closed down businesses? Check Sketchy and nondescript on the outside? Check There’s no ambiance. The décor looks like children’s artwork tacked to the walls. There’s no music. No television. No pizzazz at all here. Which means? They focus on the food. They have a full menu of Chinese food and it is awesome. There are too many choices and I couldn’t make up my mind, so I ordered my benchmark, Hot and Sour Soup and Kung Pao Chicken with Fried Rice. My soup was one of the better ones I’ve had, thick and perfectly flavored. My lunch portion entrée was a generous serving. It was very rich and pungent with just the right amount of spiciness. They didn’t skimp on the chicken either. Fried Rice was definitely homemade with lots of scrambled egg in it. If you are into hole in the wall Asian restaurants, you might just find yourself a new place to «discover».

In the outdated strip mall on the edge of old Powell. there is Lin’s. Having gone past this hole in the wall place multiple times, one would think it was no longer in business, or maybe sub par. It’s just so hidden in between businesses gone bust, and other office type buildings that it is just easily discarded. I admit, I am guilty of driving to the door, seeing the«OPEN» sign and shrugging with a «Eh… maybe next time.» But finally, I gained enough courage to drop in to see what Lin’s had to offer. What I found is a place that has apparently been a staple in the Powell community for many-many years… we’re talking 10+. Some of the BEST egg/springrolls I have had in a LONG while. These aren’t pre packaged, or bought in bulk and you can tell. Crispy, perfect and flavorful. I also have to rave about the sauce they served with them. While I cannot rave this place being the best Chinese I have ever had, I can still REALLY enjoy and appreciate it’s uniqueness to the community. One thing I admired about Lin’s is the fact that it was more of a home cooked type of fare. This wasn’t the chain line of cooks clanging around pre prepped portions in a greasy wok… but instead by a single man who made me some delicious lo mein with big and plump veggies. The husband had decent portion of General Tso’s with a very good dark sauce with some hand made fried rice. Though the General Tso’s not being spicy at all… although I imagine you can ask for it to be so. I was sad when my plate was empty. I guess the only thing I can recommend to those willing to give Lin’s a try is to throw out preconceived ideas of the bad take out places everywhere. Lin’s is simply… simple and unique in it’s own way. Kinda like a Mom and Pop of Chinese/American.
