History

Established in 1988.

Dr’s Mancuso and Beavers each have been providing excellence with experience for over 20 years. They have created thousands of beautiful smiles for patients of all walks of life including teens, models, business professionals and older adults who have always desired a healthy, beautiful smile. We are supported by an outstanding staff of many long-​term hygienists, assistants and front office persons.

Manager

Carin has been the Office Manager of Twin Peaks Dentistry for over 15 years. What she likes most about the practice is that our patients are like «family». Many have been coming here for 10 – 20 years, and we now have many patients that grew up in the practice that are now married and bringing their own families to us!

The other aspect of the practice that is important to Carin is that Twin Peaks Dentistry is very ethical and honest in all of their dealings with both patients and staff. «We don’t play games. Both the Doctors and staff treat patients as they would want to be treated… with honesty and compassion.»

And lastly, Carin is extremely proud of the quality of dentistry that is provided at Twin Peaks Dentistry. «Both Dr. Mancuso and Dr. Beavers have had over 20+ years of experience each, and are excellent in their clinical skills and attention to detail. Our Dental Hygienists are also top-​notch!»

I have been going to Dr. Mancuso and Dr. Beaver for 20 years. They are the best dentists in San Diego county! Except no substitute. I wrongfully tried to change dentists because I thought it would make more sense to go to somewhere closer to my house or work. I live near downtown and Twin Peak Dentistry (Dr. Mancuso and Beaver) are in Poway. That was a terrible idea. I tried an awful place called Town Center Dentistry in Santee. That experience made realize how great I already had it. Twin Peaks dentistry is more than worth the extra 15 minutes drive. They have an amazing, friendly, and helpful staff. Super professional and always accommodating in scheduling. Dr. Beaver came in on a Saturday during a holiday weekend because I was in severe pain. He got me out of pain instantly. You can really tell that he is a healer and wants to help people feel better. I don’t know what I would’ve done without him that weekend. The hygienists are super thorough and informative. Their prices are reasonable market rates and they are super transparent about everything. Twin Peaks dentistry is proof that when you find great service you should just stick with it. I will never try to change dentists ever again! I would recommend them to anyone. If you want phenomenal dentistry look no further than Twin Peak Dentistry. I will be going there for the rest of my life.

If I could give zero stars I would. I saw both dentists here, dr mancuso and dr. Beavers. I was seeing Dr. Beavers at first and he made me feel so uncomfortable because he is not personable. I tried to explain something to him and he actually cut me off and it was so rude it made me laugh I couldn’t believe it. He is a filling for me where I had 2 small cavities in the tooth. He only filled one of the small cavities on the tooth… So I switched to Dr. Mancuso. I didn’t want to leave the office because they already had all of my X-​rays on file.
Dr. Mancuso was also very strange and not personable. He filled a cavity for me in one of my bottom molars and ever since he did that I’ve had sensitivity in that tooth. I just didn’t trust these dentists at all. They ended up using up all of my insurance money for the work they did and then when I had to pay out of pocket they did not take a percentage of or anything (which my new dental office does and every other dental office does). We ended up paying a lot out of pocket and it was all for poorly done work.
Also the cleanings there were TERRIBLE! The lady only used dental floss and she said the stains on my teeth were permanent and she said it’s probably from «BAD HABITS». Excuse me?! «Bad habits»? The cleaning also only lasted 20mins. It’s funny that my new dental office’s cleanings last AN HOUR and they removed all of the «permanent» stains!
Oh and they kept pushing invisalign.
We pay so much for dental insurance, DO NOT waste your time or money here!

The staff are all extremely helpful and go above and beyond to make my visits stress-​free. The dental hygienists are professional, personable, and efficient. Dr. Mancuso is straightforward and honest. I highly recommend this dental office.

Twin Peaks Dentistry is the most well run dental facility I have ever been to. Every member of the staff is exceptionally skilled at his/​her job so everything is done right the first time — every time. Also, everything runs on time — always! You always know exactly how long you’ll be there, no waiting around in the lobby, or wondering how long you’ll be in the chair. Truly an exceptional dental experience (I really didn’t think that was possible.)

I’m finally getting around to writing this review, after having neglected my teeth due to my last bad experience here. I give two stars for a friendly demeanor and staff, but I did not have a good experience with Dr. Beavers on two of my visits. This was a couple of years ago, when I went in for some work. In the process of routine cleaning, the cleaner chipped off the covering on two of my crowns, in three places, revealing the silver underlining of the crown. She apologized, but said it was a «natural» thing that happens sometimes because of the sonic vibrations, and there was nothing she could do about it. I wasn’t happy about all of a sudden seeing silver (the tooth covering was strictly cosmetic, not structural), but decided to bring it up with Dr. Beavers. When I saw him and asked about the damage done during cleaning, he shrugged it off saying «it happens» and not to worry about it too much because it was on the inside of the lower teeth (presumably less visible). I asked whether he would repair it, and he said no.
After leaving, and not being happy with this answer, I asked a dentist friend of mine from out of the area. He said that wasn’t acceptable, and that they should have taken responsibility for the damage. If nothing else, they should have offered some discount on a repair, or a free repair. Dr. Beavers did neither. When I was later called and asked about scheduling my next visit, I told the receptionist why I would not be returning (at least she showed some empathy), she told me that she would share this information with Dr. Beavers. I never received a call, email or any communication after that. Either expressing regret, willingness to discuss it further, or to resolve it.
It seemed like I had found a decent dentist, but in the end, I found one who really didn’t have that much concern for good customer service. I’ve moved on.

Both myself and my son have been treated at this office for the last 5 years. Customer service is spectacular. They are always accommodating and pleasant. My son had his wisdom teeth removed and I’ve have a crown as well as routine dental care. I highly recommend the wonderful professionals at this office.

This is by far the best dentist office around. The staff is amazing, their work is impeccable, and my teeth have never looked better. I am always referring people here, and they end up staying. Even if you haven’t seen a dentist in years or are nervous, this is the place to go, hands down.

My visits to Dr Mancuso are always pleasant. I’ve been going to this
office since I was 7 years old… 24 years ago! He continues to be HONEST
in his opinions of any treatments he feels necessary or unnecessary. He
has never encouraged me to spend my money on anything I do not need. And
now…31 and no cavities! I recommend him to everyone. …and the front
desk staff is tremendous and ORGANIZED — hallelujah!!! Karen will always
greet you with a smile and call you by name. I love these guys!

Great front office and support staff! Caroline is an awesome hygienist and Chammi is a super chair side. Dr. Mancuso is all business — actually got obviously irritated that I was chatting him up. But he knows his stuff and is quick and professional. Dr. Beavers seems like a lovely man — I just may switch!

I have always had a good experience here. The best of the best in dentistry. The entire staff is friendly and professional, from Cindy at the front desk helping me with appointments and billing, to my dental hygienist Michelle who takes a personal interest in taking care of my teeth and gums, to Dr Mancuso who did a fantastic job on a troublesome tooth. In addition, his diligence was appreciated after he followed up with me at home, which prevented me from having what could have been a painful and costly procedure.

At first I thought it was a good place, but there were just too many things that bothered me over time.
1. They were constantly trying to sell me on Invisalign (literally, every time I went in for anything)
2. Dr Mancuso has absolutely no «bedside manner». I don’t need cuddly and warm, but my experience here left me feeling like «why did he even bother to come over». Dr Beavers on the other hand was much more interactive and good at answering questions and offering what seemed to be an honest opinion.
3. I had to cancel an appointment the morning of because my son was sick. This happened twice and they charged me $ 30. I get it, they have a business to run. I was a patient here for like seven years and they couldn’t waive it for me? It was when I had my credit report run to purchase a home and saw a line on the report from them that really put me over the edge. They reported a $ 30 late fee!!! WTF!
There are just too many dentists around to have to deal with any/​all of the above. In general, I think they could clean my teeth well… but why deal with any of the above when there are dozens of local dentists that can keep my teeth clean.

Twin Peaks is the perfect little neighborhood dentist. While I do bring my son elsewhere that specializes in kids, both my hb and I have had nothing but positive experiences here.
I’ll admit, my interaction with Dr. Mancuso is minimal. He’s your no nonsense kind of dentist. Not the sweet and cuddly kind, but the «your teeth look fine» kinda, man of few words. I’ve seen his partner, Dr. Beavers around, but have never had to interact with him. I’ve heard him interact with other patients, and he seems very nice.
Most of my interaction has been with the hygienists, and they are all amazing. I’ve seen 3 different ones, and they are all very sweet, knowledgeable, and do a fantastic job cleaning.
The front desk staff are wonderful as well. They are quick and efficient. Not to mention, they send text reminders for appointments. I’m all about incorporating technology.
Parking is always available, and you can always head over to Target when you’re done.

My Mom and I used to go here, she thought it was great at first and told me i should go there an how nice they all were. I went in and had a cavity that needed filling, so i went back a few weeks later and had it filled. Worst filling ever! It was so painful, and he just kept going without even numbing me up more, i even told him it was hurting a lot and he just ignored me and kept grinding away. I won’t be going back, and to make things worse my Mom had a root canal done there about 2 month ago, he messed it up horrible, it swelled like she got punched in the mouth. She actually had to go to a oral surgeon to get drainage tubes put in. And he said they would only return $ 50 out of the whole sum of the procedure that he never even finished, she ended up going to another place who has been treating her much better and is taking care of the problem the right way, something this guy should have done from the start. We will not be going back, unless they return the full amount that was charged, and even at that too many bad things in under a year.
