Norm’s RV

We had such an amazing experience with Norm and his team! They were very helpful, not pushy and helped us decide on a trailer that would fit our needs with ease. Norm and his crew did not push us to buy anything. They were supportive in our decision to shop around. Norm helped us with finite details that werent really even his problem. He was available to us by email at a drop of a hat and willing to dicuss any questions that we had. We learned so much from Norm and we are so thankful that we met him. To give some back story-​we purchased a Forest River Forester C class from Mike Thompson. It was not for us and Mike Thompsons was not very helpful. We found Norm and we really liked that he sold Northwood trailers. He was easy going and willing to help us every step of the way. Thanks Norm the great service and all the help!

Do not rent from here. !! If you have one tiny scratch, THEIR «repair shop» will charge you a thousand times over what an independent body shop would. Then if you don’t pay, they send the sheriffs to your house to collect. This guy is bad. I think he’s an ex-​police officer. Take my advice and go somewhere else. These people are ruthless and fraudulent.

Wow. okay Kim. I just listened to your recording of my phone call to Norm and I stand by my review. I asked Norm over and over again to give me some idea of what it would cost to own an RV. He never once answered my question. If after 20 years in the RV rental/​sales business Norm has no idea of the cost of ownership of an RV, he must be totally incompetent. As per your illegal recording, at the start of the phone call I asked about cost information. Then Norm went on for 20 minutes of telling about everything but cost information. Then the last 4 minutes I asked yet again. but of course he dodged the questions.
Your illegal recording of my phone call includes personally identifiable information about me and my family. Then you published it on the internet. If I come back here tomorrow and find an illegal recording of my voice I will report you to the police. No, check that, I am going to report this right now.

John by far has the worst customer service when trying to inquire about the rental prices and different options via phone. He acted like I was wasting his time and kept asking «Are you still with me?» at least 8 times within the 5 mins conversation. And when I would ask him a question regarding the different charges, he would sound irritated and annoyed that I did not know what an ALOHA package is! So sad since this place is in my neighborhood of Poway! Avoid! Avoid!

I had an urgent need to check my LPG system before heading out on another trip. Chuck, Service Advisor, said to come in Monday first thing. He had a tech on it as soon as I arrived. Determined it was a faulty remote solenoid swich which he quickly replaced. Performed a courtesy inspection afterwards. The bill was fair and very reasonable and the quick service was OUTSTANDING!
Very professional group and nice waiting room. BTW, cleanest bathroom of any repair shop I’ve experienced! This will be my «go to» shop for all my RV inspections and repairs from here on. Great shop!

Today we met with Norm regarding the purchase of our 2016 Northwood Artic Fox 22G travel trailer. Prior to meeting with Norm we were assisted by Laurie who showed us two or three trailers at our request. We knew what we were looking for so it was nice to find an authorized dealer who knew everything, and more about all their products on the lot. Norm and Laurie helped us with certain options weighing the pros and cons that fit our particular needs without trying to sell us something that we didn’t need. There are many dealers out there and we visited quite a few. It is our opinion you won’t find a more honest and trustworthy dealer. We would highly recommend this family owned operation to everyone, regardless of the drive. Gary & Pamela

My girlfriend and I were shopping around for our first travel trailer. Norm was extremely helpful. He wasn’t even trying to sell or push his products on us. First he was giving us great advice and options for getting into RV’ing. I gave him my situation and the type of camping I was looking to do. He looked at my truck and gave me advice to make sure it was safe and ready to tow a travel trailer. Showed us a few trailers we thought we would like and we found the perfect one. A Forest River Stealth Evo 2050 had my name written all over and was perfect. From the electric awning to the cool floor plan it was perfect. The final price was very competitive as well. Check around to see other prices of the same model and his were on point.
His service center down the road is run by Chuck who is also an honest and provides knowledgable and professional service. From start to finish it was pleasant and smooth. From the beginning I was calling and emailing almost every day with questions and Norm on the ball with advice and information.
If you are looking into an RV I would strongly recommend coming here for you business.

WOW! This is the worst place that I have ever been to. I don’t want to bash the guy, I don’t know him personally, but I would like to help others from wasting any time or gas to go here. My wife and I drove from Del Mar to this place to seriously buy something, not just look. We had cash in hand, literally. This guy offered the worst and rudest customer service. His operation is comical, because he is the only employee, so chances are, you won’t be able to see what you want, since they only have a handful on site. Incredibly horrible overall.

This review is for the service center on Deerborne Pl. Two stars is due to the fact that they were able to install a new vent cover quickly. I didn’t appreciate that they made a point of mentioning that I showed up with no appointment even though I had called the day before and was told to just come in. While there I had difficulty getting the RV to start (dead battery) they ordered one up and installed it within a few hours which was great as I was trying to get out of town that day. While we were waiting on the battery I asked if they could look at a brake light that was inop (wiring issue) and they charged more than $ 200, said it was a loose wire… Brake light worked all the way out of the lot and quit! When I got to Orange Beach, AL I took it to Peterson’s RV where they spent 20 minutes under the dash, charged $ 25 and it’s fully functional :)

I bought an rv from them about a year and a half ago. Best experiance ever because after the sale they treat you just like they did when they sold it to me. If you have an rv you know that stuff will break, the difference is are you taken care of when it does and at Norms they take really good care of you. I will also go there for all my service and new rv purchases. They are a small family run business that gives you that extra close attentive experience.
Norm himself is an owner operator that is incredibly passionate and friendly and straight forward. No bull$hit. Nothing is hidden. I love Norms RV

Web-​site states Warranty work done here. Norm’s told me that «there is NO MONEY in warranty work and to go else where because it was not purchased from them.» ??? Forest River told me to go to any authorized dealer. We are new to RVing and bought the very best 2014 TT we could find. I didn’t want the lower end models that they had. I wish there were more choices in San Diego for Route 66 members. Fortunately, La Mesa RV took our appointment NO Problem.

Kim, thank you for your comments. I thought Forest River had a better reputation since you and others sell them.
I did try to order our TT from local dealers including yours but no one would help. My TT is a Heritage Glen which is the very best that Forest River/​Wildwood offers. It includes Central vacuum, leather seating, solid countertops, outdoor kitchen with swing out BBQ, power stabilizers, LED awning lights, and ALL on wireless touch pad to name a few. All this for $ 10,000+ less including transportation which was a bonus ordering it from Ohio.
When I buy something I buy what I want not what some else thinks I want. In all cases you where unable to help.

I showed up without an appointment late morning with plans to leave early that afternoon on a road trip. The RV had a very serious propane leak and Chuck came out to inspect my RV and test for where the leak was coming from (no charge) and was able to put a mechanic on it right away. We left as planned.
I had a great experience at Norm’s RV. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
5 stars isn’t enough for my experience with Norm’s RV!

I have not purchased any from Norm’s but I rather use their storage facility to store my trailer. The people working there are courteous and polite. The reason for my low rating is because for one the access to their facility is the least convenient among storage place. Second, I know that a portion of the parking lot is occupied my car dealership, little did I know this week I get a 30 day notice from Norm’s due to capacity needed by car dealership. I guess they value the dealership business over ours. So highly not recommend Norm’s for storage.

We recently bought a used travel trailer here after a long search, I looked at most of the other local dealers but found Norm to be the most honest and helpful by far, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Im impressed with their professionalism and business structure which has proven to work well for them and their valued clientele.

We bought a new /​used Fleetwood Storm from Norm’s RV. Laurie our sales lady was great and very knowledgable, she did everything she could to get us a good deal from Norm. Norm did the paperwork and explained everything in detail.
We next went to Kim in service, she jumped though hoops to get us out the door in a fully working class A. If we saws that something needed attention, her great staff jumped on it. The walk thru and training was good, and being trailer people we knew a lot already. We did however leave without knowing how to manually move the slide outs and cabover bed, something we neglected to ask to see. We were told its in the manual, but I ‘d rather see it done.
All in all, we would go back to Norm’s. anytime.

We had an emergency repair on our way out of town (fully loaded trailer) in tow, and we stopped by Norms RV Service Center at 12 145 Dearborn Place in Poway. We had no appointment, just in much need of help. They went above and BEYOND to expedite our needs. Kim Snider, Sr. VP — advised us that they could help us and put me in touch with Chuck the Service Advisor who got the right technician to fix our emergency water line break. They advised me it would take about 3 hours to fix our trailer and when we walked inside to their lobby it was so clean, they had movies for our family to watch, nicely air conditioned (it was hot outside), along with snacks, and great toys/​activities for our children to play with and keep them busy while we waited. The restrooms were super clean too! Once our trailer was fixed, they made sure to let me know they looked for other safety recalls along with the work we needed done (at minimal cost to us), the recalls on our trailer were just done as a courtesy. They went out of their way in our moment of need. We thank you Norms RV Service Center!

I have been using Norm’s to service my RV for about 6 months. They may not be the cheapest but I have found that they are the best! I recenetly bought a new 5^th wheel trailer and had them install an automatic satelite dish system. They did an excellent job and everything works flawlessly.
I have repeatedly found that they do an excellent job with a group of very professional staff members and it starts at the top. Kim and Norm are the best. They are always willing to help. I could not find a better business to refer people to and have done so on several occassions.

I have had the satisfaction of working together with Norm in my hunt for the perfect RV. I went to several other RV lots before coming to Norm’s RV and I am really glad that I took the time to make my way over to Poway. Norm is a an honest and forthright person who put me, [the customer] first throughout our entire business relationship.
If you want to get away from those other RV dealerships where they will tell you anything just to make a sale, this is the place to come. Here at Norm’s RV, I was made to feel very comfortable as I was making my way through the business process of purchasing an RV.
If you are in the market for a new or used RV, I strongly suggest that you come out and see Norm before making any decisions elsewhere. I learned the hard way, but you don’t have to.

The people and the quailty of Norm’s R V is the best I’ve ever encountered when it comes to renting a quailty motorhome. Thanks to this, I come back year after year.
