I take VHS, VHS-​C, 8 mm Hi-​8, and Mini-​DV tapes and I transfer them to DVD or Blu-​ray. I also offer Conversion from European format to American format. I can scan 35 mm slides and 8 ½” X 11″ pictures and turn them into Slideshows and also put them to DVD or Blu-​ray. I can also take pictures. Need help with your computer I do that too.

History

Established in 2007.

L.A.R. Duplication & Recording was formed in mid-​2007. Its founder, Luke Rankin, realized that there has been and remains a high demand for video tape copy from source media (magnetic video tape) to longer-​lived media such as DVD and CD discs for home, family, and community event use. L.A.R. Duplication & Recording can copy VHS, Hi8, 8 mm, and mini-​DV sources to silicon media. In addition, picture slide shows can be created from photo and/​or slide collections. A sound track (narration. music, or both) may be added if the customer so desires.

My name is Luke Rankin. I attended Palomar College to get a Degree in Radio and Television. I have done an internship at Studio West in Rancho Bernardo which is in San Diego, CA. They are a recording studio and worked with many famous artists. I also had the privilege to work with P.O.D. and Bill Murray also help out with Voice Over work for Sony and Nintendo. I worked for a company named Homegoods in Poway, CA and one of my bosses asked me if I could transfer one of her tapes to DVD and I said yes. After she watched it she told me that it look really good and she told me why don’t you start up your own business. I took that idea and kept it.
