Awesome, every other day of the week we go buy some Ipo’s during our lunch break. Amazing food, definitely one of the best joints at Poway!

Waited at the counter no employees around so I left. Boo! Was looking forward to some barbecue, be aware though it’s not southern style, it’s Asian, but I like Asian but was looking forward to a bbq sandwich and this they didn’t have on the menu.

Short staffed so there was quite a wait when I arrived around 6. But everything is cooked to order so that was great! Got the #1 beef rib and BBQ chicken combo plate for the variety. The chicken was delicious and tender. The beef ribs however were maybe too thinly sliced or overcooked where it was almost crispy instead and flavors were just very sweet. Needed to off set it with soy sauce and chili. Macaroni was good, I think pepper in Mac is a Korean thing Overall experience was good. The lady would greet everyone very warmly and thank you for your patience!

You can never go wrong here. We usually get a large combo plate and a small plate and share among my family of five. The portions got a little bit smaller since these new owners took over, but the taste is still delicious. I highly recommend the spam musubi as well. Everything tastes delicious and the service is always friendly.

Looking for quick take out on a Saturday night and with a little research ended up at IPOBBQ. Decent reviews for their Hawaiian dishes we ordered 4 dinners and 2 orders of chicken lumpia. All of us ordered a chicken dish; katsu, BBQ, garlic and spicy. The katsu was a bit on the dry side as was the BBQ, the garlic was crispy and flavorful and spicy was a cooked cutlet with a little heat. All dinners came with 2 scoops of white rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. The lumpia had zero chicken and resembled a Costco egg roll. Price for all came to $ 51.00. Service was good but we were the only ones in the restaurant. Might try them again but would order the garlic chicken. It was my favorite.

I’ve been going here for years, and this is my favorite local place to grab food. I take all of my friends here, and it’s become their favorites too. I go to school up in Orange County, but whenever I’m home I make sure to go here every time. I haven’t been able to find any Hawaiian place that’s as good. Their bbq beef, macaroni salad, mahi mahi, and spam masubi are my absolute favorite, especially when all dipped in their katsu or teriyaki sauce. The staff that works here are the sweetest, and often remember me when I come in. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

5 stars for the sweet lady that’s working the day I came here. Very accommodating and thoughtful as she gave me extra gyoxa cause I can’t eat rice/noodles the day I came in. I had the chicken Katsu combo which is no different to any place that offers the same thing. Overall I’m glad this place exist in Poway so I don’t have to drive far to get my Hawaiian food fix.

The Katsu chicken was ok. But the ramen was horrible. Way too much fat for my liking.

I give this place almost 4 stars, 3.75 to be exact. Friendly staff. Ordered the chicken combo and chicken Katsu meal, $ 11.25 plus tax. But dude, the smallest scoop of rice and macaroni salad ever… Enough said

Big place with good service. The food was tasty too. We went to watch the SDSU basketball game. They were nice enough to let the band play at halftime. They were also very good to our children.

Pretty standard selection of grindz. Chicken katsu, teri beef, ramen, kalua pork and cabbage, etc. with the required two scoops rice and mac salad. I got to try quite a few things because I came with a group. Everything was decent. I had the garlic shrimp that so many people on here have recommended. It was good, but I think I wasn’t as into fried food that night as I should have been to eat this dish. The teri beef was sliced thin and the sauce was good, not too thick and goopy like a lot of places. The lumpia were more like standard egg rolls from a Chinese restaurant and not the thin wrapper it should be. The mac salad was good as was the kimchi. I don’t know if either are made onsite. The prices weren’t bad. I would come back here for a filling lunch.

Small hole in the wall Resturant. The food is good at a good price and the amount that they give you.

Their spam musubi and the chicken katsu here is delicious! It’s a hit and miss on wait times here, some days slower than others. Reasonable prices too! Lots of table and seating available. Parking is easy as well.

Love this joint! I’ve only ordered one dish here: the garlic shrimp plate. First thing’s first: the difference between a small and regular plate is that a regular plate has an extra scoop of rice and 2 more fried skrimps. This place is perfect for lunch when you’re on the go. I don’t work around here but a lot of my friends do. I have to put in an effort to drag my way to Poway for the food here, but it ends up being totally worth it. Their garlic shrimp comes with crunchy yet moist fried shrimp, and they are extremely generous with the garlic. It’s delicious! Paired with rice and macaroni salad… perfect dish for anyone craving anything fried and garlicky. You could dine in or take your food to go. Nothing special about the ambiance. They have a decent-sized eating area and it’s pretty clean. Friendly staff and delicious garlic shrimp!

I’ve worked right next to IPOBBQ for the last year and have never tried it until last week. I wish I would’ve tried it sooner! I get the spicy chicken. I love how they give so much, I can eat it for lunch for two days. The portion is awesome, a little pricey but not any more than a normal takeout place. I think I pay 10 dollars for a meal that lasts two days and a drink. Also, the owners are so sweet!!! They are amazing.

Spicy pork over salad? Yes please! I would have honestly passed by this place over and over if it hadn’t been for a coworker suggesting it. And of course I’m going to have the Spam musubi! If you’re craving island food in Poway, it’s an option.

I had the pineapple orange chicken bowl. The title doesn’t need any more description than that. It was tasty, sweet, and hot which means it was cooked fresh. For a quick lunch, this place hits the spot and fair pricing too. Compared to other same style lunch eateries, this place is on the same level. Pretty good to fill that hunger craving is all I can I say

Good lumpia and super friendly service. We tried the spam sushi but it was dry and not something I would eat again but it’s for sure an acquired taste. My friend was In Hawaii eating it and thought I would send him pics of us eating it back home. He loved it in hawaii. I would try it in Hawaii but not here again. The lumpia ommmmg sooooo good. I want so much more of those delicious yummy rolled up bundles of goodness. We will be back to try other items on the menu though. Thanks again

3.5 stars Saw this Hawaiian BBQ plate lunch place on the corner of my eye while driving by and pulled in. Clean tables in side, It’s run by a Korean family so i was excited because i love korean food and some things are similar to Hawaiian BBQ, just different variations of a teriyaki sauce. I got the Chicken Combo($ 9.25), Chicken Katsu, and BBQ chicken with mac salad, and rice. I thought the katsu was good, the breading had a nice crunch but i wished it was thicker and meatier. They pound out the chicken thinner to speed the cooking time. I really liked the BBQ chicken, it was very tender and flavorful better than L&L for sure, it had that korean flare to it maybe it was sesame seeds? I also liked the mac salad, it’s strange how something so seemingly simple to make can vary so much from place to place, this one did not disappoint. I also like that they had katsu sauce as well as a spicy Kochujang based sauce on the counter, i used both on my chicken, yummy. I also liked that when i ordered it to eat there it came on a non disposable plate and not a styrofoam take out box and i could use metal utensils and not a disposable plastic fork and knife, Hurray for being green. I liked the food here and I’d definitely come back to try some other things on the menu, Fried garlic chicken, spicy chicken, spicy short ribs, fried rice. I also liked their way of saying, bathroom is for paying customers only, the sign says, «No Pay, No Poop, No Pee.» LOL
