Okay, so most places charge you an arm n a leg for hair style, dye, and cut… This place is wayyyy affordable, has great service, and super nice employees. I have been trying out all the «go-​to salons» I’ve been recommended by people, and have not been able to find anyone who works well with my hair! I finally have had a lovely first experience with Lindsay! She takes the time and has patience top work with what you want and your hair! I highly recommend this cute little place. It’s a little bit of a drive for me but I’ll totally be going there every time!

Love this place! Geoff and Juliet are the best. I have been going to Geoff since I was 16yo he is always friendly and personable. He treats all his clients like they are VIP. He is a color genius. I have strawberry blonde hair a very difficult color to match and he does a great job covering my «white» hairs every time…

This place is a total gem. I got a groupon to go here and I’ll continue to come back to get my hair done. I wanted a simple cut and to take 10 inches of my very long mane. Odean was the one that cut my hair and he was great and very friendly.
I had great conversations with him and he told me stories about his travels. Super friendly guy and made me feel welcome :)

Very impressed with Hair Zone… Juliet is outstanding, personable, professional assistant to Geoff, she went out of her way to accommodate my hair needs, as well as my time limit, i was in salon 45 minutes later… they both stayed after they where off work to help me out. Brianna Mckee is hands down the best hairstylist there! Let me start with the fact that i have psoriasis and she was completely willing to work with my sensitive skin. She made me feel very comfortable, which was a major plus. I went in with hair down to the middle of my back and I knew that i wanted to cut it pretty short, but wasn’t positive with how short. She cut it once and i decided that i wanted it shorter and she was more than happy to take the time to recut it. She even took the time afterwards to show me styling tips with my new hair length that i now use everyday. If you need a haircut, color, or style, go to BREE!!!

Geoff is fantastic. Not only did he give me an awesome cut and style but he was able to get me in on short notice with an evening appointment. Being a working mom it’s hard to find time to get my hair done so being able to go in after the kids are in bed allowed me to actually relax. I’ll be back soon, no longer will it take me months to find a time that works with my family’s schedule. Thanks Geoff!

Lindsay at Hair Zone is AMAZING! Besides being a really talented stylist, she is so sweet and down to earth. If you are looking for a fancy salon, Hair Zone is not the place for you However, if you are looking for a clean, friendly and fun environment and great service, you must make an appointment with Lindsay soon!

Walked in to get my 4 yr. olds hair cut and they did circles around the shop to see who would cut his hair when there was multiple hair stylists sitting around on their phones. Horribly disappointed by the lack of attentive customer service. Will not ever come back.

Lindasay did an amazing job on my trial run for my wedding! I can’t wait to use her skills on my big day! Very reasonable prices and friendly atmosphere! Very happy customer!

I followed my stylist, Hanna Chau, to Hair Zone four years ago. As for Hanna, she is not only a talented stylist & colorist, she has a beautiful soul.
I am a bit confused by the negative reviews regarding Hair Zone’s atmosphere. All I can say is if you are looking for a salon full of personality and a zest for life, this is the place for you. If you are not into positive energy, perhaps your local barbershop is more your speed.

Don’t waste your time, when you call and try to make an appointment, sometimes they answer or sometimes you don’t get a call back for days or at all. The times that I did have my call returned I met with Geoff, I told him I wanted my hair a certain color, and he could never achieve that! Always had the dye mixed before I got there, was always late and during the appointment always would work on 10 different people while working on you, saw him cancel appointments so he could go to concerts or other things he wanted to do. The salon not very professional, looks more like a concert venue, instead of a salon! When people go to get their hair done, should be in a more relaxing setting!!! Make up your mind is it a band concert venue or salon? Can’t be both!!! And you will never achieve the color you want as he will make excuses, «oh I can’t take you to that color right away,» your hair will turn orange and blah blah blah! That’s funny because the minute I change salons!!! I’m Blondie not streaked Blondie!!! And you been doing hair over 20 years sure doesn’t show!!! Don’t waste your time, your gas! There are far more talented hairstylists you can go to! That cost about the same and achieve result’s only cares about his band life! Give me a break! Worst salon ever!!!

New to the area and needed a simple haircut. Cannot believe this establishment got a 5-​star review! Did not feel welcomed, hair all over the floor, weird vibe/​décor, owner did not listen to my haircut needs (which are extremely basic) and owner talked to client next to me my entire haircut. Should have walked out after first impression. Ended up having to get hair trimmed at my old place where they thought I cut my hair myself! Never going back to this non-​salon experience.

This is the only place I get my hair done anymore. I went when I was younger but I don’t get my hair cut too often. I have had my hair done by a lot of people here and they all do a great job, I’m never dissatisfied.

Awesome place. Geoff is the business I’ve been coming here since high school. Super cool atmosphere, fair pricing, and he does a killer job. I don’t know why you’d go any other place.

Been coming here for over 10 years. I live in Temecula and still drive down to have Cal cut my hair. Love the service, quality, reasonable prices, and atmosphere.

I love this place! and the review from Cassandra C. about Hannah Cunningham is totally false. I feel sorry for you Cassandra, you must have a lot of demons or are extremely jealous of Hannah’s beauty and her wonderful life that she boasts about.
Hannah is the best hairstylists i have ever had. Not only does she do beautiful hair, she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Caring is her first nature and she keeps me laughing the whole time I am in her chair!!! If it wasnt for Hannah I wouldnt even bother getting my hair done. Everybody always gives me compliments on my hair and I send them straight to Hannah! Thank you Hannah for always doing an extraordinary job and making my hair so gorgeous!

Jalisa did a great job cutting and styling my hair today! I love that I got a nice haircut for a reasonable price.

I’m giving this place five stars because it’s worth five stars! However, there is one hair stylist named Hannah Cunningham that works two stations down from my hair stylist… Cal Schafer.
My hair apts used to be enjoyable and fun, listening to music and chatting with everyone until now. I’m so fed up with every time I come in to get my hair done, ALL I HEAR IS HER! All she talks about is herself! First it was all about her wedding and her dumb dogs, the next time I came in thank god she wasn’t here and the last couple times it’s been a horrible experience! Im now back at the hair zone getting my hair done and all I can hear is her and her talking about herself and her baby and more her!!! I hope she reads this and realizes how annoying she is! The last two hours of my apt I have listened to her talk over her customers and everyone else in the room! People around me are even talking about how annoying she is!
I am requesting all of the rest of my apts to be scheduled when she is not working. This sucks because I work all the time and can only come at certain times.
I highly recommend this place and especially recommend my hair guy Cal.
Just try to book your apts when this stylist isn’t working, so you can have a good and relaxing experience!

I measured my hair this morning while it was still wet, and from the root to the tip it was between 27″ and 28″ long. My last haircut had been in late 2008, and it was an A line angled bob (think Cleopatra, with longer tips) and prior to that it was a chin length pageboy bob (think Prince Valiant, but not as flattering) back in summer of 2004. Other than colour I’m not very experimental with my hair style, and that can be traced back to very bad shag hair cuts I received in the mid 80s overseas. Those ended up looking like mullets, and ever since then I’ve kept it a blunt length of varying degrees with bangs. I fear the snip of the scissors and being in that stylist’s chair just as much as I fear heights and spiders.
I’d been mulling over getting my hair cut again for awhile, since I’d grown it out long for my sister’s wedding last year, hence the length. The ends were starting to fray, and it started to feel heavy and weighed down and maintaining it was starting to be a pain in the ass. I’d either ponytail it, french braid it, or split it down the middle into two braids. My hair started to not look so good from being pulled back all the time, and I was ready to say hello to the Prince Valiant look and cut it all off and donate the bulk to Locks of Love. Alas, Locks of Love will not take hair that has been previously bleached, and a love affair with pink hair for a few months last year killed that possibility, even though I’ve been au natural for the last 14 months.
Enter Geoff and the Hair Zone. I drive by this place in Poway all the time. It’s in the same mall with all the thrift shops, and they have this funky sign with cosmic stars and Invader Zim style lettering. My Mama offered to fork up $ 20 to the local no name hair joint up the street (the same one that charges $ 16 for a hair cut, add $ 3 for shampoo) but the ladies in there never look like they’re having fun, and for what might possibly be a drastic change in style, I didn’t want to just leave the task up to a chop shop. No, I wanted the salon treatment, and if I had to fork up the big bucks to do it I was going to do it.
But I didn’t fork up big bucks for this. Geoff sat me down, asked me what I liked most about my hair and what I didn’t like about it. We discussed what I do for a living, my hair care routine, and what I expected out of my hair. He said I had beautiful long hair, and that it looked thirsty, but he didn’t want to chop it all off because length looks great on me. But we did agree that about 5″ of it was going to go today. My hair is damaged from lack of trims, from processing, from the sun and salt water exposure, but he felt that there was life to be coaxed out of my hair so he said to give him 10 minutes and he’ll make me a believer.
Then I saw my face (and hair) and I’m a believer. I tipped generous today (40%) because he took the time to do a consult, and my total out the door for a shampoo/​condition, cut, blow dry was $ 35. THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS, what a steal! That’s with a $ 10 tip. I was expecting to pay around $ 50 minimum like most other salons in the area, but this was just eye popping.
I will be back. I didn’t drink the kool aid, but I did try the shampoo and seeing how my hair looks now, even after driving home with the windows open, my hair looks fantastic. I dare say it hasn’t looked this good since I did a shampoo ad in the Philippines back when I was 14. That was in 1987, yo, and right before the horrific shag haircut. Best of all, it didn’t break my wallet (I’m a college student again, working part time, raising two teenage boys so every cent in this stupid recession counts), and my husband especially likes it because, and I quote, I can still put it into pigtails and prance around like the (half) Asian school girl I am.

I love the atmosphere, I feel very relaxed. I never feel pressured into a style or cut that I don’t want. When Geoff suggests something, he does it in a very good way that shows he really knows what he’s doing. One time I saw Geoff deal with another client who wasn’t happy with her color and cut. I think Geoff handled it professionally and respectfully. When my hair was fried from a perm (another salon), Geoff gave me tips on how to make it healthy again. I hired him for my wedding, and he did an awsome job on my hair and bridesmaids hair. I will always return to the ZONE, the HAIRZONE.
