History

Established in 2012.

We started out training in an outdoor park with a small group. That group grew into a small community so we took the workouts to an in home gym where we began to build the foundations of CF LVI. Only a few short months later we moved to Poway where we’ve been continuously expanding with our community and watching everyone exceed goals!

At 40 years old and with a college aged son, I can honestly say I’m in better shape today than I’ve ever been before thanks to LVI. This is the second Crossfit gym I’ve belonged to and the LVI coaches have changed the way I view both Crossfit and my own capability. My goals have never been to lift a crazy amount of weight, or to be the first one done with a WOD… my goals have been about increasing strength and endurance, while also pushing myself to exceed what I had previously determined to be my «best». Crossfit LVI coaches have continuously encouraged me to compare myself to no one and to focus on the significant improvements I’ve made over the past several months. As a result, I feel and look tremendous, with an added bonus of now calling LVI coaches and its’ members «family». I’m reminded daily by my new family that I’m NEVER too old, too out of shape, too weak, too busy, and have no reason to be too afraid to challenge myself, and I encourage you to feel deserving of being in a Crossfit gym that will offer you the same. This is an update on my review from over a year ago. When I started at CrossfitLVI, I was at first drawn to the community and the coaches. What has kept me going is the constant challenge the coaches present in each workout. I have had a few minor set backs. But that did not deter me. The coaches were all awesome in finding other workout or movement options so I could continue towards my goals. I not only feel physically stronger I am more mentally strong. That is what has helped me in my daily life. If you are thinking of trying crossfit, I would highly recommend Crossfit LVI. Their coaching staff is awesome. I have been to several boxes. These are some of the best coaches for making sure your form and technique are on par to avoid injuries and to maximize your functionality.

I’ve been going to LVI for over 2 years now and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. I am in the best shape of my life, physically and mentally due to the awesome coaching and programming. The weeks programming is always well thought out and I can feel myself getting stronger even after doing CF for over 6 years. The coaches know how to accommodate all levels of fitness, beginners to seasoned athletes and keep you motivated, pumped and accountable. They taught me to refine my form and positions and always put safety first before PR’s.The location makes it super convenient for me to go after work as well.

Super great place to workout! I had some uncertain views on crossfit before I started working out here, but the awesome coaching staff put them all to rest.
This is a not a one size must fit all kind of place — the coaches are great at tailoring workouts for any fitness level, weakness or injury needing some rehab. They also excel at recommending exercises to focus on areas you’re looking for the most improvement. Very talented coaches can also challenge the most elite of athletes.

CrossFit LVI has a convenient location on Poway Road near the I-​15 freeway, with a passionate, dedicated and highly motivated team of coaches emphasizing proper mechanics and injury prevention. The facility and equipment are state-​of-​the-​art, and there’s a great chemistry among members which makes it a fun place to be challenged to maximize my potential and get in the best shape of my life!
I have been an avid weight lifter and exercise fanatic for many years, and now I see the tremendous benefits of cross-​training in a way that builds all muscle groups more efficiently while strengthening my core and vastly improving my cardio and aerobic stamina and capacity at the same time.
I love this place, the members and the coaches so much that it feels like one big family!

Crossfit LVI is seriously the best gym I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve never felt such a strong sense of community and respect for each other at previous boxes — I felt incredibly welcome from the start. The coaches are amazing and the programming is fantastic. They are also super kid friendly!

To be honest I had my doubts about CrossFit. As the years went by, my desire to get back into the gym grew as did my curiosity. In February of this year, I made the commitment and joined LVI.
The experience with the coaches, the comradery with the other members and the variety in the workouts has been amazing. The programming has been exactly what I was searching for. Instead of wondering aimlessly in a run of the mill gym, I am challenged and held accountable for being and performing to the best of my ability. The progress I’ve made in just the short time I’ve been a member is a direct result of the coaches that push me each day. That’s what sets LVI apart!

This was my first experience with a crossfit gym. I had my reservations due to stories that I had heard about Crossfit. The coaches at this gym are awesome. They are more concerned about ensuring you are safe above anything else. The environment is positive and inspiring. I highly recommend it!

My goal is to stay fit and keep the same dress size — Petite 0 (yup) and perform 10 kipping pull ups unbroken in the next 3 – 4 months. I focus on Progress — not perfection! I feel that I can achieve this at CrossFit LVI. I am not new to CrossFit; however, I just recently joined the family of CrossFit LVI this month. During these past few weeks, I felt that the coaches gave me their personal attention so I can properly and safely move the weights, chip away those reps and feel accomplished, not exhausted after each WOD. Their focus on proper movements, their encouragement and just the right push have given me great confidence to perform better. I PR’d my 2K row this week, purely from the athletes’ synergy during the WOD. It’s only been 3 weeks… the possibilities are endless. If you are reading this review, I encourage you to check out our Box. Awesome joint! I was a regular gym rat for along time, plateaued years ago. As soon as I switched to CrossFit LVI I noticed immediate gains. All the coaches are awesome and informative, eager to help and teach. Classes are never too large which is a big plus in my book.
It’s also kid friendly and even have classes for the kiddos. I would definately recommend CrossFit LVI of Poway.

This place rocks, Crossfit LVI has a great coaching staff and the members are easy to get along with. You can’t go to just a regular gym and get the same workout. I am a Martial Arts instructor and Crossfit LVI is helping me to get the the next level of fitness. Doing 2 types of workouts like martial arts and crossfit compliment each other well. In the 3 – 4 months that I have been doing crossfit I can see major gains in muscle which also gives me the benefit of toning. There is no doubt in my mind this Crossfit LVI is doing something right and why you need to try it out;)

This box is full of personality, fun and AMAZING results. The class sizes are never too full and the coaches are super knowledgeable but so friendly and relate-​able. Everyone here is very cool and make you feel comfortable which is a huge relief especially if you are new (like me) and not necessarily in the best shape (like me). I am glad I gave Crossfit a try but even more glad THIS is the crossfit I came to. Also great location and equipment… and music! If you are looking for a new box or to just try the Crossfit thing, definitely go check them out.

I want to STRONGLY recommend Crossfit LVI. The coaches are technical, encouraging and experienced. The people and community here so helpful and supportive. When you join CFLVI, you truly become part of their family. And, their programming involves the best of real Crossfit movements coupled with Olympic strength training. These workouts are no joke, and will benefit anyone from the beginner to the experienced. The coaches focus their attention on meeting you where you are at which helps new people acclimate quickly. I got amazing results in just my first 2 months, and feel like an athlete again at 44! My wife and I go 5 days a week and can’t stand to miss workouts with our new family!

Crossfit LVI is amazing, Reason 1 friendly and supportive members (day one I was greeted by everyone with out intro) Reason 2 staff is very knowledgable and knows how to allow you to progress safely without injury and ego Reason 3 never once have I witnessed someone not smiling, negativity doesn’t exist here. Reason 4 the box has all the top of the line equipment you would ever need. Reason 5 Crossfit is just better then anything else you could do for your mind and body. Reason 6 you can tell that all the staff cares about the progression of all there members and that’s the most important part

Just came back from my free introductory class together with a colleague. Such a great surprise of workout together with the good vibes by Jerry the owner and one of the coaches. He was fantastic to us during the hour we stayed at the gym. We were initially scared that with our current shape we would not be able to keep up, as we had a pre fabricated image of super difficult and only for experts workout.
I was glad to see many women trying to push themselves to improve their health and consequently their bodies, very inspiring. Music was upbeat but not overpowering. We loved every single minute there and I am considering going ‘pay as you go’ which is $ 15 a class.
Honesty is the ultimate marketing technique and we got a super great impression for the no sales push at all plus when my friend mentioned that he lives downtown, the coach suggested to try Invictus gym as they are the best of the best. Praising the competition says a lot about a business and a person. Totally recommendable gym if you live in the area.
