Countryside Apartments

My husband & I have lived here for almost a year now & we love it. Maintenance always comes the day I call or next day & fixes whatever’s wrong. Our neighbors downstairs are good friends now, & it’s an amazing place in general. I’ve never seen a cockroach & when we saw some spiders we told the office & they sprayed our building. The pool is great during the summer & they have Bbqs close by that’s great for entertaining. Management is very nice & professional. We’ve never had any problems living here & plan to renew our lease when the time comes. We LOVE this place.

This complex probably is Front Runner of being «THE-​WORSE» (and I have to write all characters in capital to express how crap this place is!) to live in entire San Diego county if not southern California! Horrible dog barks nearly ²⁴⁄₇! Dropped and Ignored Dog-​Waste and old dog waste-​stains are all over the place, from prairie and escalators you’ve to enter your apartment all the way through your parking spot and lawn where your bedroom-​windows fronting as well as outside walking areas specially when passing nearby tens of ‘Dogs Waste/​Bag Hangers’ they’ve placed around the complex you want vomit smell of collected dog-​wastes hanging near your unit specially on hot summer no lack of ‘Dog-​Shit Breeze’ there that’s promised! This complex has a Horrible Environment when it comes to resting and tranquility! Bikers come home after midnight with brain-​blowing bike-​noise and a loud laughing and speaking behind your windows, late night mariachi-​addicts loud car-​speakers of those parking-​screamers supported by those after school and entire weekends over 20 faraway living headache delivering kids who skate behind your windows and play football with ear-​blowing screams are an ongoing event you must expect if plan to live there, in addition to application fee and security deposit and other traditional charges is funny that this crap-​hole also requires ‘Renter’s Insurance’ (an additional charge to your monthly rent! The reason is because this complex unlike majority of newer complexes in California to save cost in building structures has its entire plumbing system built on ‘Roof-​Top’ of its second floor units and therefore there’d be a high possibility of flood on your rooftop and loss of your TV, Clothing, Computer and Furniture and so they want YOU to pay and replace your own appliances and furniture if their cheap plumbing break while you’re not home! But that management is Smart-​Ass and generous enough to keep that issue ‘Hush-​Hush’ and out of the lease agreement content and let you discover it by horrible mind bothering pumps and switches and loud water noises on your roof-​top a few days AFTER you moved in! You want to know more about fantastic advantages you benefit if you live here? The lawlessness and rules-​exclusions this part of Poway has, you can have a pack of chickens escorted by their loud singing Roosters as pet if you have a yard in this part of Poway! Or have your always-​full ‘Dumpster’ placed in property with ‘No Dumpster-​Cover’! So when the rain comes smell of ‘Garbage-​Juice’ running from under the dumpster attracts more flies and crows if you’re a smart-​ass Countryside-​Apartment manager! I leave the gouging AUM (‘American Unlawful Mafia’ should be called!) company (Countryside-​Apartments Utility Extortion-​Partner which punishes you over by an extra $ 7.50 online extortion fee to pay if you attempt to pay their meterless-​bills online!) and careless office managers aside before this becomes a thick book! Definitely skip Countryside Apartments in Oak-​Knoll road unless you’re planning a major ‘Downgrade’ in your living standard!

I’m not happy, I’ve not been happy for 12 months. Today was the final. straw, woke up to the loud maintenance guys using a machine to smooth out the sidewalk. Everyday they are loud and it’s not their fault but I live by the office and it has to be perfect to scam people into this place. Sure the grounds are lovely but you will understand that you are paying for it with a bullshit bill we call aum water and trash??? Even the city says this is unheard of. It pays for all the hard working men and one housekeeper I’m sure they barely pay them. They do pay a new head maintenance guy well but he’s lazy and rude. My oven has been broke since January and he refused to fix it until he saw the issue, he didn’t understand, random, it turns off randomly, I am pissed about this I’ve called several times.
I’ve approached the office now about dogs being off leash and was told «well if you have a dangerous dog she can’t be here» my dog isn’t dangerous but a jack Russell terrier was out alone and attacked our new puppy, our older dog went to attack it and our older stepped in and scared it. We would have been blamed and our dog would have been put down. The reason the management wanted to challenge me is because her dog is never leashed. My dog walks by all the ankle biters that growl snarl and want to attack her but if a dog is off leash she will defend herself.
Also, there is so much dog crap everywhere that nobody cleans up. I guess maintenance doesn’t think it’s their job. It’s still extremely loud and the cops are here constantly– there was recently a burglary to another tenants home and it’s been assumed by said tenant that it was another tenant. Now when I walk my dogs even I lock my doors.
I’ve asked that a memo and notice be written to all tenants about dogs– barking (all day) poop, I’ve been asked to take photos but replied it’s not my job. The leash memo hasn’t gone out. And won’t.

I have to say living here has not been very good, only because of the Manager, she do NOT return calls and in my opinion thinks that she is irreplaceable, right now she is on maternity leave. Countryside had the good sense to bring in a hard working get the job done return calls spit fire, well maybe because she’s a red head, but whatever it is they need to keep her, her name is Sandy Castro, I’m going to give this review 5 stars and it’s not because other manager Macaulay it’s only because of Sandy Castro and assistant manager Roberta Arredondo, If Warren the owner and people in corporate want to keep this apartment building moving and the right direction they need to hire Sandy Castro NOW!!!

I live in the countryside apartments and it can be alittle more expensive than any other apts but we have a lot of cool places to enjoy living as an, gym, basketball court, kids park, lounderies, and i guess i cant complaint about my neighbors, but the only thing i dont like is one of the managers Magaly, she is mean and does not care about the complex or if we are comfortable, as long as she gets her rent to look good on her boss side, we have no acces to gate located on the front of the apartments and ALL the employees say Magaly doesnt want it open, that shouldnt be her choise it should be everyone that pays rents choise, a lot of people have the same opinion as i do but dont have the time to feedback,
Roberta is more caring so i would recommend people to deal with her ensted,
hope Countryside managment will see this and regulate on her, by the way she says no one can do anything against her because shes been working as a manager for so many years and HER BOSS WILL LISTEN TO HER OVER ANY RESIDENT.

This apartment complex is totally bias and rent to each building as different segregations. The office «management» team are fake and let things slide that need to be addressed and treat each tenant depending on their nationality. Neighbors in our building moved in the middle of the night during the week and parked the moving truck onto the sidewalk «walkway». Many of the neighbors addressed them and asked how late they would be since we have kids that need to get up early for school. They were rude and said they had permission to park there and they would be done before midnight if we were lucky. My kids and I feel totally outcast and we are «half» mexican… but apparently here half isnt good enough.
