Cam’s Alterations & Weaving

I’ve lived in Poway for over 20 years and the moment I found this place, my family has been going ever since that I earned the right to call her Auntie Cam. This place may look small, operated by a one woman shop but the quality of work is exceptional. Honest, inexpensive, timely and professional. You give your deadline and she will have it done earlier. Whether you may request something or not, she will tell you the truth and recommend what should be done to make your piece look better. I appreciate the honest opinion and trust her. (Wondering why this place doesn’t have many Unilocal reviews but she’s that good that she operates by word of mouth).
I’ve brought jeans to be hemmed and she will ask if you want to keep the original lining or create a new one. Of course keeping the original will cost a few more bucks. I’ve also brought slacks and dresses. She is a perfectionist and will tell you why you do not want it too short/​long and make you do different movements to prove her point. I’ve brought a summer dress and she told me this fabric sucks (jersey) so even after several washes, I may need another hem due to the stretch and by that point the additional hemming cost will outweigh the dress and should be donated. She also does custom. If you bring fabric and a photo, I’ve seen the end product of a dress from one of the customers. All in all, she’s creative and talented.
Keep in mind, we’re Asian, meaning the older generations talk as if they are yelling at you… lol. Outrageously load, bold, and broken English. So don’t take it personal in customer service but look for the quality of work. She takes pride in her craft and sometimes she brings her daughter who is special needs and sits in the back. So excuse all the chaos and maybe the aroma of funky food smells and I will guarantee you have found your tailor!

This place was amazing. I brought in a pair of pants with a ripped seam. She said she would do it right away, and she did! She went right to the sewing matching, fixed in 5 minutes and charged me 3 bucks. So nice too. I’ll be taking all my alterations here!

This place is so awesome! Not only is the work inexpensive but it’s absolutely perfect! I can’t even tell that my pants were altered at all! The service was friendly and very convenient! This is my new alteration spot.

Brought pieces of my comic con costume to be altered and it was done quickly and really well. So grateful!
