This place is so cute! My son fell in love with this store because they have a lot of cool displays there. I fell in love a little too. Something about this place is just charming. I hate chain bookstores, so this is just what I needed. My favorite part though is they have these really cool boxes that are covered in real leather that are meant to be «treasure boxes». Basically a hollowed out book. You can buy hollowed out books a lot of places, but these looked handmade, and they were made of real leather and lined with felt inside. I bought one and it still looks amazing 2 years later.

Walking into this small book store is like a blast to the past. That musty, heady, old book smell hit me head-on, immediately reminding me of the library in my old elementary school. No one who was around in the early 60’s can forget the smell of the books of that era. It was a real throwback to an earlier time for me, that aroma. A very pleasant experience when you had to look up books in card catalogues with index card files, know the Dewey Decimal system, and actually find the books in racks. I love book stores and miss them, in this era when brick-and-mortar stores and folding by the dozens, not able to compete with the likes of Amazon or online Kindle reads. There’s something special, magical, about bookstores. You can escape in the various genres and get whisked away to places far and wide. This store, although small, has that«feel». It has that smell. It was like an older, more mature«Half Price Books». I could have spent all day here.

They have Fifty Shades of Grey in the Romance section… stumbling upon that was a lol moment. I think they had probably 5 or so copies. No, I did not buy the book, nor do I plan to read it. However, they did have some respectable books here and there that were very reasonably priced. Namely, The Hardy Boys series, my BFs old fav and Nancy Drew, my old fav. But in all seriousness, this book shop is great. We probably spent an hour looking at all the cook books and found a few good vegetarian ones that looked pretty well loved, but good. I think the best LOL moment was when I pointed out the kitty sitting in a basket behind the register, and then was like«aww sleeping kitty» The guy behind the counter picked up said kitty and revealed its epic fakeness. I felt pretty embarrassed. Overall, great little shop to hang out find some cool old books for reasonable prices. You may end up finding what you’re looking for, or what you weren’t looking for, but I’m sure you wont come out of the store empty handed.

Cute little bookstore right on the main strip in Poulsbo. We happened along it while wandering through some of the Front Street shops during the Third of July event. They have a pretty good selection of used books. In fact, the entire reason we went in was because my boyfriend was trying to find a couple of books from a series that he had been unable to find closer to home. He managed to find one of them here, so he was pretty happy with that! The woman at the counter was very nice and helpful as well. I’d certainly come back here the next time I’m in town.

What a great bookstore! Very well-organized into fine-grained categories. Great selection of writings on America — history, culture, «Americana» — and doubtlessly similarly good for other subjects. Nice display of antiquarian books /first editions in a case in the center of the store. Fun to look at even if that sort of collection is not your thing, and the owner will be happy to tell you a little more about what’s in there. Prices were typical for used book stores in the area. Not super-cheap, but way cheaper than buying new — and a much cooler selection. There is quite the concentration of bookstores in Poulsbo, but IMO this one is easily the best.

Since we can never travel without stopping into a bookstore to add to our ever expanding collection — there had to be a stop here on our recent trip. Immediately the owner clued in on the fact that I was a book maven after overhearing me utter the words ‘Fore edge Painting’ while looking at a locked case. Yup this led to about an hours conversation about antiquarian books, independent bookstores and the previous bookstores that I have worked out. Meanwhile during all this conversation, my BF found books he had been looking for but hadn’t found in other bookstores. When he requested a specific one, she knew her stock so well that immediately she could point out where he had to go to get it. A great bookstore!

A beautiful little bookstore in a lovely area of town. A nice quaint area and a homey little bookstore that feels very comfortable. First off, there were plenty of used books so it had that lovely ‘dusty used book’ smell. That is how a bookstore is supposed to smell. The lady behind counter was very nice and trying to be as helpful as she could as we were looking for a few specific books. The subject areas are very well categorized to make it easy to shop around. Many beautiful old leather bound books and such were on display. This is just the way I love a book store to look and feel. If I’d had more time I could probably have spent over an hour in here, easily. :)
