flicka, which means ‘girl’ in Swedish and is pronounced ‘fleek-​a’, is a women’s clothing boutique in Historic Downtown Poulsbo, WA. We are a shop for ‘girls’ of all ages with on-​trend styles for any budget and brands you won’t find all over the peninsula. Our sizes range from 0−16÷18 & XS-​XL. Many products are Made in the USA, organic, local, or even from Scandinavia, such as Ilse Jacobsen’s fleece lined raincoat or lace-​up rain boots, Odd Molly’s swedish knit & Rosemunde’s underpinnings. Other lines we carry: Free People, Prairie Underground, Splendid, Seven for All Mankind, Michael Stars, Hudson, Paige, AG denim, Tulle, Three Dot, KUT, Allen & Allen, Heather Gardner, XCVI and much more!

History

Established in 2013.

flicka opened up for summer 2013 and has been enjoying styling and helping women to feel more confident & beautiful about themselves since!

Business Owner

I am a wife and mother of five kids. When the kids were young, I loved to work in town one day a week to get out of the house and keep my sanity, as well as be a part of the downtown charm of Poulsbo. I called it my ‘day off’. When the kids went into school full-​time, I realized I wanted to do something more to contribute to the family, feel content, and make my kids, especially the three girls, proud of me. I graduated college with an elementary ed/​swedish majors and taught for a few years, but besides that, I have always been in retail. I love clothes. I love helping friends find the perfect outfit. I love the twinkle in a women’s eye when they feel confident in what they are wearing. I love people. It only seemed natural to open Flicka! So, after 6 weeks from dream to opening (and lots of hard work and help from others), it became a reality. Come visit us!
