This place constantly overcharges for acrylics, and they push their overpriced gel polish like nothing I have ever seen. Last time I went they told me they had to charge me $ 5 to remove my existing nail polish that they put on two weeks before! They’ve also charged me $ 10 for a top coat. My mom had her nails done for the first time for my wedding, and they charged about $ 60 for a full set, and they charged her $ 42 for her first and only fill! I went the same day and was charged $ 22.

I was recommended to this nail salon by a co-worker of mine, so I had high hopes. I walked in for a manicure/pedicure and was greeted at the door. The salon is very nice inside. I was asked if I wanted gel color for my manicure and I declined because my nails were in bad shape from previous gel manicures. The manicurist seemed miffed about my decision. She did not speak to me at all during my pedicure, which I found odd but it didn’t really bother me. When it was time for my manicure I was asked 3 times and was pressured into getting a gel manicure. I repeated that I did not want a gel manicure at this time, even though I get them often, because my nails were thin, dry and brittle. The manicurist, clearly annoyed, then responded saying that she understood I couldn’t afford it, maybe another time. I was extremely insulted by her comment. My nails were clearly damaged from previous gel manicures but she would not take no for an answer. I am so disappointed by this manicurist that I will NEVER go back to NY Nails. That was one of the rudest comments that has ever been made towards me! I still can’t believe her disrespect. I would never recommend NY Nails to anyone.
