I love this place. Every Tuesday night they have music trivia and it’s not lame it’s actually really fun. The service is insanely fast and prompt and friendly. Beware their hot sauces are like molten lava. The food quality is average but their soup specials are made in house and are always worth a try. Fun atmosphere, great crowd

If I can give this zero stars, I would. I just experienced the worst service I’ve ever had in my entire life this evening. My friends and I got to the restaurant at 7 and did not get our food until 8:30. The wings came out overcooked and cold, they messed up our pretzel order and the fries were overcooked as well. There were tables that just got up and left. The pub also had their softball sponsored team come in and they got their food right away. I try to support local businesses but after tonight I will not be coming back. Way to go, Jack Cassidy’s management!

I really wanted to like this place but they failed miserably. This is my third and last time at jacks. The first time I did enjoy the food and the service was average. The second time I had to ask for a menu and order from my table at the bar. The food was OK that time so I let it slide. The third time is where all hell broke loose. We came on a Wednesday for wing night. It was busy but not something a normal restaurant can’t handle. Well… We sat down, waited… Waited, had to flag the only waitress for a menu. We then ordered some beers, wings and fries. Simple right? Not for jacks! The wings and fries took an hour and a half to come out. We noticed other people with the same problem walk out while we were waiting. We really stuck in there hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel. Finally… An hour and a half later Our wings came out… cold. How could they ALL be cold? It doesn’t even make sense! Its not like they had to wait for another order to finish to bring them all out at once. The fries didn’t come out with the wings. We had to wait another 10 minutes to get hot but horribly burnt fries. The fries were hard and had any internal potatoe cooked right out. We are locals to the area and were hoping this could be our neighborhood bar but unfortunately will not be returning.

Nice selection of beer on tap. My short rib sandwich was delicious. Need to try the wings.

Because the physical structure is nice, this could be a great place if these recommendations are followed(my visit was 8:30 on a Wednesday night when only about 2⁄3 of the seats at the bar where is sat were taken, so not very busy): 1) When a customer at the bar closes their menu, it is a sign they are ready to order. Ask them in a reasonable amount of time, not fifteen minutes later 2) When food is served that requires utensils, provide them. Don’t drop the food in front of the customer and hurry off so that they have to ask.(When they can FINALLY get your attention.) Perhaps even provide the usual setup of napkin and utensils when they ask for menus! 3) When food is served that doesn’t require utensils, supply napkins– or put enough napkin dispenser trays on the bar so they can get their own! 4) If the customer does not request an additional beverage, do not supply one– especially if the one they have is still a fourth full. One Guinness was all I wanted. 5) If a customer places an order for an appetizer and an entrée, don’t acknowledge the order and then forget the entrée. 6) Don’t bring out appetizers for some and entrees for others at the same time unless you ask the customer if that’s what they want. 7) If you do forget part of an order, just say so and apologize. You screwed up, it happens. Don’t make excuses. Ask the customer if they still want the item now that everyone else is done eating before you just plug it into the system and expect everyone to wait. 8) Keep the music at a reasonable decibel level. 9) If a customer expresses dissatisfaction with something(especially something as significant as you missing the main part of their order) do NOT say«you don’t have to be a dick about it».(I’m a business owner and I don’t believe that the customer is always right, but voicing objection to your mistake doesn’t mean they are being a «dick», thank you very much.) 10) Don’t be texting while are supposed to be tending bar– your customers need your attention. 11) While we all understand that every establishment has its«regular» customers, being able to so readily identify them by the inordinate amount of time the wait-staff spends with them(to the exclusion of newcomers like me) is just wrong 12) Ask at least once if a customer has everything they need.(I’m still waiting for hot sauce to put on my Mexican egg rolls.) Best of luck, Jack Cassidy. I’m an Irishman myself and you will need as much luck of the Irish as you can muster to achieve long term success in your pub business.

So great to have Jack Cassidy’s back. Great food. Great staff. Awesome little local bar. The parking can be difficult on the weekends, but all-in-all a great place to go have dinner or hang out with friends. Shuffleboard in the back is stupid fun.

Attractive looking bar in a homey town. Although calling it an Irish Pub is a bit of stretch. Not much Irish about it other than they have shepherds pie and serve Guinness. My date loved her pulled pork sandwich. I had a short rib sandwich… the meat was good, but the sandwich was a bit bland and dry. The bacon and cheddar fries were excellent! Service was a bit lackluster, too. Our waitress was more interested in socializing with the staff than waiting on us. Overall, the place was just okay.

Pub 990 is gone and Jack Cassidy’s proudly sits at 990 W High Street again! For those who may remember, Jack’s occupied this space until a fire closed the business in 2011. The building reopened in 2014 as Pub 990, but some changes have been made since then, and it is once again known as Jack Cassidy’s Irish Pub. I never visited the original Jack’s but I hear people smoked there. The new Jack’s is 100% nonsmoking. They are offering a different special every night of the week. I visited this past Monday, and enjoyed $ 4 microbrews until Midnight. The beer was cold, and I saw several great choices on tap. I am planning a return visit this weekend. If you’re looking for a laid back, consistent Irish Pub, check out Jack’s. You won’t regret it!
