History

Established in 1996.

The company began as Alternative Health Care back in 1997 by the original owner, who started the company with seven employees and 12 clients. It was purchased in 2003 by Bruce and Charlene Weaver who expanded the company to include all five North Idaho counties. It was renamed AAging Better In-​Home Care in 2007 and has since grown to include Medicaid clients, Veterans Affairs client, Area Agency on Aging clients and many private pay and insurance clients. Today, Aging Better offers services to over 300 clients and has over 140 employees across the five North Idaho counties.

Business Owner

Charlene is an advanced practice RN and owns AAging Better In-​Home Care with her husband, Bruce, who is a Physician Assistant (PA-​C). Together, they bring a medical perspective to in-​home care so that clients are given the very best medical and non-​medical services possible. They each have extensive backgrounds in clinical medicine, health and wellness, teaching and management. All employees of AAging Better In-​Home Care are taught by a RN in a series of required classes before being allowed to work in the homes of new clients. AAging Better is the only in-​home care company in North Idaho owned and managed by a registered nurse and physician assistant.
